Chapter 3.

914 Words
In the evening, when Haya returns from university, she sees that her uncle is getting ready to go somewhere. She becomes worried because after he leaves, her aunt never lets her rest even at night. Uncle asks her lovingly, “Beta, why were you late coming from university today?” “Ji Uncle, I went to a friend’s house. I had some university work. I thought we could do it together,” Haya replies. She doesn’t say that her aunt had forbidden her from going in front of the guests. Uncle puts his hand on her head, prays for her, and picks up his bag. “Uncle, are you going somewhere?” she asks. “Beta, I have to go to the village. I will be back in a week or two.” Haya feels sad but doesn’t say anything. Uncle leaves, and Haya goes to her room. *** At one o’clock at night, while Haya is studying, her aunt calls from outside, “Haya, come outside.” When Haya goes out, her aunt says, “Go and get this medicine from the medical store for me.” Haya says, “Aunty, which medical store will be open at this hour?” Her aunt replies, “I don’t know which one will be open, but some store must be open. Go and bring the medicine.” Haya is very scared, but she has no choice. She leaves. Nothing seems unusual to her because often, if Mr. Saleem is not at home, her aunt would throw her out and she would have to spend the night in the street. As she is walking on the roadside, suddenly a car stops near her. Before she can react, a man quickly comes out, puts a cloth over her mouth, and throws her into the car. Haya becomes unconscious. Meanwhile, her aunt gets her full commission. When she asks the woman on the phone, “Why do you want Haya? Why did you pay her so much money?” The woman says, “We have paid you. Now you cannot ask anything about Haya. You have no connection with her anymore. You don’t know me and I don’t know you.” She hangs up. Her aunt feels relieved and says, “Forget it, it’s none of my business.” *** Itly Two days later, when Haya wakes up, she hears some noise from outside and finds herself in a dark place. When she regains her senses, she remembers that she was going for medicine and someone had put a cloth on her mouth. Now her life is truly in danger. She cries and prays, “O Allah, protect my honor. You may take my life, but protect my honor.” The noises outside grow louder. Haya feels that there is someone else there too. When she looks carefully, she sees ten to fifteen girls tied up in the same condition. Damon is present at the dock with his men. They are watching from the trees. Until they confirm that girls are there, they don’t attack. Suddenly, a car arrives. Kamal comes out of it. Many more cars arrive, and men get out of them. Since it is late at night and the place is old and deserted, they feel safe to do their work. They have no idea that two eagle-eyed people are watching them. As the container is opened, Damon signals his men to attack. His men and Damon attack them, and the other men fight back fiercely. Damon’s gun is shooting, and Haider is also fighting strongly. One man shouts at his men, “Go, kill all the girls in the container.” Damon signals Haider, then approaches the container himself. As soon as he opens the container door, Haider and his men cover it from outside. Damon quickly cuts the girls’ ropes, and they cling to him. “Brother, please save us. We want to go home,” they cry. Damon doesn’t understand their language, but he knows they are scared and want to go home. He puts his hands on their heads and assures them he is with them. Since the girls don’t know who he is, they just sense that he is there to save them. Haider takes the girls out to a safe place. Damon, while leaving, sees a figure in the corner. When he approaches, in the faint light, he sees her face. Her black, long hair is messy, her face marked with tears, long eyelashes shading her eyes. She seems unconscious for two days, but even in this state, her beauty is visible. Damon is completely attracted to her innocence and beauty. For a few moments, he cannot move and just stares at her. Then, he instinctively lifts her in his arms and takes her outside. His men are amazed to see such a soft, delicate body in Damon’s strong arms, and they look away. Damon quietly puts her in the car and tells Haider again to take them safely to a secure place. He asks Haider about Kamal, and Haider signals that Kamal has been taken to a secret hideout. Damon sits in the car. *** It’s three o’clock in the night, and he cannot sleep. He hasn’t eaten or drunk anything since coming there. The innocent face of Haya keeps appearing in front of his eyes. He doesn’t understand why this is happening to him, but he feels very disturbed. Suddenly, he gets angry and leaves his room.
