Ava’s POV
“Madam Nadaline,” I called softly.
She hummed in response, her eyes still fixed on me as I stood in front of the refrigerator, pretending to look for something that wasn’t there.
“I want to tell you something important,” I said finally, my voice unusually serious.
“Something important?” she repeated, her expression shifting immediately.
“Hm.”
She patted the space beside her, signaling me to sit.
I walked toward her slowly.
For a few seconds, I just stood there, unsure if I should really say anything. I was still debating whether I should tell her the truth about what happened between her stepbrother and me. But then I remembered her boyfriend… the man who had taken away her innocence.
“Ava.”
Her voice pulled me back.
