I waited for Cassar to catch his breath. He tried hard to hide it, but I knew I did some damage to the guy's gut. And ego.
I smirked watching him struggle to catch his breath again. Cassar's eyes were a lot darker then they had been a couple of minutes ago.
I smiled cheekily at him, taking a few steps away. "Oopsies?"
He glared at me taking a few steps closer to me. Mirroring my actions like a wolf does to a sheep.
"Has anyone ever told you how cute you are when your angry?" I mimicked him.
"Now shortcake, you are going to pay." Cass warned.
He took half a step before I was going. Turning on my heel, I ran further into the woods. If he wanted a run, he would get one.
This time as I was being chased through the woods, I wasn't fearing for my life but I was almost enjoying it.
I saw him right on my heels as I weaved in and out of the trees. Faking left, jumping over fallen objects, twisting out of Cassar's reach.
I couldn't help but laugh as Cassar almost collided with a tree. A lopsided grin was stretched across his face the whole time too.
The further we ran, the harder it was to keep out of his grip. Cassar was naturally bigger and stronger then me. I was defiantly smarter, but that didn't really apply at this moment.
It didn't surprise me when he finally reached me. As I was running around a large tree, his arm shot out of nowhere. Snaking around my waist.
I shrieked at the contact. I tried to wiggle free, but it only caused us both to fall to the ground.
Rolling on the ground Cassar made sure that his full body weight never landed on me.
We were both laying there laughing before I realised the position we were in. Somehow I had landed on top of him, our faces inches apart.
I couldn't control the heat that travelled to my cheeks.
Quickly I jumped off the ground, taking a few steps back. If I didn't know any better I would have thought I saw disappointment in Cassar's eyes. Soon the emotion disappeared as an arrogant smirk took its place.
"Just when it was getting good." He chuckled standing up.
"In your dreams buddy." I spluttered out. I gave an awkward cough, trying to shake the embarrassment away.
Cassar looked directly at me intensely. "Every night babe, every night."
I rolled my eyes at him. My hands still twitching.
Cassar smirked, satisfied that he was able to make me feel something other then burning hatred for him. He was obviously wrong though.
"Okay," Cassar said changing the subject. "now time for the run."
I groaned loudly. "More running? Wasn't that enough?"
He gave me a flat look. "You can't be tired. We barely ran. You've done more running in all of you're Houdini acts."
"Again, that was me running for my life. One does not run for fun." I pointed out.
"Come on." Cassar said tugging at the bottom of his shirt.
"What are you doing?" I asked him as he pulled his shirt off.
He looked at me as if I was stupid. "Shifting, what do you think?"
My mouth dropped and not because of his bare chest.
