Stacy POV
Acknowledging how the tomato pies arrive in June’s apartment, I stare at her and accept the offer to eat. Gently, she opens a box of pizza with a vapor slight on it, showing that the pie is freshly cooked. Then, she takes a slice of it on a plastic plate and gives it to me. “Thanks a bunch,” I return it while grabbing a plate.
“Don’t mention it. Just eat it carefully since it is quite warm,” She replies with a smile, embedding on her sweet visual afterwards.
Following that, I savor the pizza carefully, letting the cheesy taste of the dough paired with pepperoni and mushrooms touch my tongue and teeth. Even once I finish with the first slice, I take another one and enjoy it, each bite. “Isn’t it too cheesy? Even the dough is slightly thicker than a normal pizza,” She breaks the silence by commenting about the food.
Honestly, I agree with her since the best pizza dough is known to be not so thick, and it must be a bit crispy on the sides. Nevertheless, I try not to be too obvious. Instead, I intend to show my feelings to her through a comment about the pizza. “A little bit, but I don’t mind since I get to taste it with somebody pretty and smart here,” I add. Again, my orbs meet with hers for another time.
“Well,” She is about to say something, but her hands take a few pieces of tissue. Gently, the tissue she grabs touches and rubs my lips. “It seems the pizza is so tasty until you eat messily, just like a kindergarten student,” She continues with sarcastic tones. At that point, I get that she loves cleanliness and neatness, although she can be messy at doing something, sometimes.
Whenever she has finished cleaning, our orbs meet once again. Through her stares, I can sense gentleness and passion. Those two words immediately appear when I lock my gaze at her although it may sound that I have speculated further a bit since she is my brother’s girlfriend. Nevertheless, if my guesses are true, I’ll be on cloud nine. It means that my crush shows her passion and care for me. I know having her attention and care is not enough, but it is better like this than causing a big gap between us, due to my confession to her. For real, I doubt if she will treat me the same if she knows that I like her.
“Finished. You can have a few other slices if you want to,” June breaks the silence. It then gathers my consciousness.
I directly take another slice of pizza and enjoy it. Following that, June reaches the fridge in the kitchen, takes two bottles of tap water, and gives one of them to me. “Don’t forget to drink more. You have eaten quite a amount of junk food,” She reminds me as she locks her stare at me, as if I were a runaway toddler who might walk aimlessly.
Receiving the bottle of water eagerly, I smile and rreply “Thank you, Miss.”
End of POV
-**-
As day by day passes, the day June gives a private lesson to Stacy arrives. With a pile of additional books, the beautiful woman with long, wavy hair sits next to Stacy. She begins to explain the points in each chapter by drawing a simple mind map on medium-size white carton paper. To make it more comprehensive, she adds different shapes for the flowcharts. While Stacy, herself, listens and nods at the explanation given. Along with that, she also chews a protein bar since she hasn’t had dinner yet.
After a few minutes, when Stacy is doing some exercises from the history textbook, her stomach growls. Unfortunately, June hears it, so she suggests, “Why don’t you get something? Instant ramen or a packet of sandwiches would be nice to stop your hunger.”
“I can get it later, after the lesson ends,” Stacy refuses while answering the remaining exercises given.
June rolls her eyes, feeling frustrated with handling the girl’s stubbornness. “Get it now, Stacy. I don’t mindseeinge you eating in the middle of studying. Even a few of my other students do the same thing.”
Stacy postpones her writing activity and stares at her, trying to make sure that June is true to her words. “Well, if you say so. I’m going to cook an instant ramen. Do you want some?” She states and offers.
June simply shakes her head. At that time, the hunger hadn’t conquered her. She feels okay to have a cup of iced tea served by Stacy fifteen minutes ago. Then, Stacy gets up from her seat and walks to the kitchen. While the girl is busy with the cooking, June attentively highlights the important parts of the materials that may come out in the test. However, the peace doesn’t last long. The noise from Stacy suddenly distracts her focus.
“Uh! I can’t reach it! So high!” Stacy murmurs.
Without any hesitation, June stops her activity and rises. She wonders if Stacy needs a helping hand to pick a few things. Once she arrives at the kitchen, she catches that Stacy is struggling to reach a packet of instant noodles in the upper cabinet, near the sink. Therefore, she approaches as her right hand reaches the instant noodle and gives it to Stacy. “Why don’t you call me?” June asks while staring at her with closer look. She can even smell her rosy, feminine scent.
Being closer to her crush, Stacy feels that her heart is rumbling like a drumroll. It is once in a blue moon for her to get that close to June, her long-time crush and private teacher. She cannot see her in the eyes, but she stares for a few seconds and answers, “You look busy, so I try my best to reach it.”
Staring at her still, June gradually smiles and teases, “Really? I don’t think you were trying to get it. You looked desperate until the murmurs came out!”
Stacy, trying to hide her embarrassment, replies, “But still, I was trying. Even without your help, I can get it. I’ve got used to it, daily!”
Then, June chuckles and shakes her hair. “Next time, don’t hesitate to ask for help. I’ll be there when you need me.”
After that, she walks back to the living room. Then, Stacy gets startled by the words she just heard. For real, she thinks that June tries to act nicer to her, although they are just a student and a teacher, but on the other side, she feels that June gives a signal to her, as if she confirmed that she liked women. However, gently, Stacy shakes her head, gathering her consciousness and spoke in the mind, “No. I cannot have any wrong judgment like this. At least, I need to hear it from June, herself.”
