The wind on the rooftop was cold that night, brushing Lyra's face like a warning.
She stood between two memories:
The locket Elira had given her, still warm from her palm.
And Kael's voice behind her—soft, pleading, familiar.
“Lyra,” he said, stepping closer. “You're shaking. Let me explain—”
She turned, her eyes sharp. “Explain what? That Elira was once our sister? That you never told me?”
Kael flinched.
“I didn't lie,” he said.
“But you didn't tell the truth either,” Lyra shot back. “That's the same thing.”
,
Silence fell between them. Somewhere below, the school clock chimed midnight.
Kael's jaw tightened. “You don’t understand what she’s done—what she is.”
“She's not the one hiding pieces of my past,” Lyra said.
Kael stepped forward. “I kept them from you because they would've hurt you. I was protecting you.”
She backed away. “Or controlling me.”
,
The pocket watch in her hand suddenly glowed.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
Then—clack.
It opened by itself.
Inside was something she'd never seen before:
A third hand.
Not ticking forward. Not ticking backward.
Frozen.
,
“What is this?” she asked.
Kael's expression changed instantly. He looked… afraid.
“That’s not supposed to appear yet,” he muttered. "You've seen too much too fast. It's accelerating."
“What's accelerating?”
Kael hesitated—then lunged for the watch.
Lyra stepped back, eyes wide. “Don't you dare—!”
“I can fix this!” he snapped. “We still have time!”
He grabbed her wrist—but she yanked away.
The watch flew from her hand, landing between them with a c***k.
It stopped ticking.
,
Time paused.
Not like before—this was deeper. Heavy.
The stars overhead froze mid-shimmer. A plane in the distance stopped midair. Her breath crystallized in her throat.
And from the shadows…
Elira stepped out.
“I warned you,” she said quietly.
Kael turned, his voice full of fury. “You shouldn't be here.”
“And you shouldn't be lying,” Elira replied.
Then she looked at Lyra.
> "He's been manipulating the timeline. You're not just remembering tomorrow—he's been editing it."
Lyra's knees weakened. “Kael…is that true?”
Kael looked at her, eyes filled with something unrecognizable.
Not love.
No regrets.
Obsession.
“I did it for us,” he said.
,
Lyra's heart cracked.
Not because he had lied.
But because part of her still loved him anyway.
,
She turned to Elira. “What do we do?”
Elira didn't answer. Instead, she raised her hand—and the broken pocket watch lifted into the air.
“It's time,” she said. “To wake up completely.”
The glass on the watch shattered.
Light exploded outward—engulfing them all.
And Lyra remembered everything.
Every life.
Every choice.
Every betrayal.
,
She opened her eyes, glowing with power she had never known.
And Kael was gone.
