Chapter Six

802 Words
“We've been going on and on about this for five minutes, would it really kill you to provide a little more clarity to the answers you're giving “ Kessari was frustrated with his answers, for the last five minutes she had asked him more questions and true to his word, he did give answers, but those answers were void, very void. “Answers are supposed to provide clarity” “Not all answers provide clarity, “ Kessari gave him and intense look then suddenly a little smile, barely noticeable formed on the corner of her lips “Alright then, i agree. Your turn now, ask me the questions you had, I'll answer them all” He hesitated for a second, then proceeded to ask. “Who do you belong to ??? “ Kessari frowned a little, her confusion with his question was clear as day. “I am human “ she said, the smile at the corner of her lips widening as she spoke “Okay….and what has that got to do with the question asked?” “That's my answer, I am human” her smile getting broader now, his confusion was evident, his slightly raised brows and the crease in between his eyebrows gave it away “That makes no sense “his voice going just a little pitch higher than before, he was clearly frustrated with her answer. “It’s an answer, is it not? And if i remember correctly you said answers are not supposed to provide clarity” The crease between his brows Slowly disappeared as a smile formed on his lips Slowly turning into a soft laugh “You're funny, I'll give you that “ “I am just following your lead” He laughed again. “Let's start over, I give you my word, any questions you ask me I'll answer with clarity, so long as you promise to do same. Kessari gave him a surprised look, and rolled her eyes a little “Fine, ask me whatever you want” “Who do you belong to? “ “ I don't belong to anyone but myself “ “ That's a lie “ Kessari took in a deep breath and let it out “ Believe what you want but that's the truth, I don't belong to anyone , i promised you honesty and clarity, this is my honest answer “ “I believe what I see and what I see says you're not being honest” “What do you see then, tell me what you see” “The mark, I can see it when you step into the light, on your arms and in your eyes, the barriers covering your house are strong too. It took me a while to get through, which is rare for a wolf of my strength, so…. Who do you belong to?” “What marks are you talking about and what barriers? Covering this house?” Kessari stepped forward, she lowered her rifle and dropped it to the ground, then she took another step forward, looking straight in his eyes, he didn't flinch or move, he just stood there watching her get closer. No word from him, no answers, her questions just hung in the air. “Explain yourself, what marks and what barriers?” “That's four questions now” Kessari scoffed “I wish I gave a f**k, I'll ask you as many questions as i want and you are going to answer them all” “What makes you think I'd do that?” “I have something you want” Kessari said her eyes lightening up with delight. “What could a human possibly provide me that I cannot provide for myself hm?” “Safety” she said smiling wickedly, eyes still fixed on him For a second he looked taken aback then he smiled and stepped forward “You're on to me aren't you?” “You're right, I am on to you” her smile broadened as she stepped forward, getting closer and closer. “You provide the answers I want, I let you stay the night, how does that sound Raikaelyn of the Borealis clan?” Her tone was one of mockery, she had him exactly where she wanted him and he knew it, that excited her even more. “That's why you put down the rifle and let down your guard, you knew exactly what would put me in check, you had me exactly where you wanted, you read me like a book and I barely noticed, nice job” He was impressed, Kaelis had spoken about how unusually smart humans could be and now he was experiencing it first hand, it was exhilarating and exciting. “Thank you. Now, tell me about these marks you see”
