She still didn't look at him, her gaze fixed on the bottles she held. “What are they like, …….the Borealis Clan that these marks belong to….what are they like?” She turned and walked towards the table that stood in the corner of the room, her back still facing him as she placed the bottles down. “Amazing, Impressive,Powerful, strong, fast as light. They're known as the Goldvein wolves. They're protectors, and some of the best warriors you'll ever meet. They rule with love and a passion for their people, family is everything to them. They have strong ideals which can be hectic if you don't understand them. They're loyal to their mates and keepers of their word, when they mate, they mate for life, they'd follow their mate to the pit of hell and back. Their blood is filled with magic, they're the only clan in Velmora who are born with magic in their blood, They keep Velmora together“ Kessari was quiet, her back still facing him as she listened to him, a million thoughts raced through her mind. She could slowly feel the life she had curated fall apart in her mind. Raikaelyn watched her turned back , he sighed and stood up gently, buttoning up his shirt as he stood, her back still facing him. She finally turned around, smiling “Too bad I'd never get to meet them, they sound like a hectic bunch” she let out a little laugh and placed the box back in the cabinet. “ How's the wound? You feeling okay?” “It's almost healed, whatever you put on there really is magic, thank you for this, i owe you my life” Kessari looked at Raikaelyn with raised brows and laughed “Quite dramatic, isn't it?, you don't owe me your life Raikaelyn, I just did you a favour, that's all, no need to give your life for it, you can sleep here tonight but be gone by tomorrow morning before I wake up or I'd shoot you in your sleep” “I don't doubt that for a second” he said laughter filling his words. Kessari started to walk towards the door, but she stopped suddenly turning to face him, almost like she suddenly remembered something of importance. “What happens when you refuse to accept the mark?” “ It won't get to that, they won't let it get to that.” Kessari nodded slowly, eyes still fixed on his, she picked up her rifle and proceeded to walk out the room. “I'd be in here if you need anything just call out to me, get some rest, and hopefully I'll be able to get some rest too, put this very long night behind me for good this time” Raikaelyn scoffed as he lay on his side, facing her. Suddenly he stood upright, still facing her “How did you know I needed safety “ Kessari turned to face him, she smiled, the light in the room glistening on her face as she did so “It was obvious” she laughed as she said those words as if it was the only right answer “Humour me” Raikaelyn said, his words breaking her laughter. “Alright, first of all your clothes, they were drenched in blood, fresh blood, even though not obviously yours seeing the colour difference, and how soaked they were, it was obvious that whichever group of people you fought with even though you were outnumbered, they didn't stand a chance. Your wound was much older than the blood on your clothes, which means you were wounded before your fight and still somehow managed to kill and fight off five or six of your kind.” Raikaelyn was up now, he was intrigued, she was impressive in every sense of the word, to think she had done this in only a couple of minutes impressed him even more. “The bag” she said pointing at the bag that lay by the bed “The bag is the reason you got yourself all soaked up, it could be two things, one ,either the people you fought with tracked you down for it and tried to steal it from you or you somehow managed to track the bag after they stolen it from you and when they pursued, you killed them all, without mercy might I add, but judging on what you said when i asked what was in the bag, I think the second option is a much better storyline.” “Impressive, but none of this means I needed safety, or at least doesn't clearly state that I do” “I'm not done Raikaelyn “ Kessari said her laughter filling the room “When you spoke about who I belonged to, you said it took you a while to break the barrier, even for a wolf of your strength, you might have said that in passing but that was the final piece I needed. So now tell me Raikaelyn why would a wolf of your strength bother to break a tough barrier unless he was sure that in that moment that was the safest and smartest option? Raikaelyn raised a brow, his eyes full of intrigue “I am impressed “ Kessari walked over to the bed and picked up his bloody shirt, the blood well above dried made the shirt feel rough and hard. “If you're impressed by this then you should see me on the battlefield, not to brag but I am quite good at my job “ Raikaelyn laughed taking off his shirt as he lay down. “I know you wish this night would be over, but the night just got even longer, I'd rest up if I were you, the show is yet to start” with that he closed his eyes and immediately fell asleep. Kessari just stared at him in confusion, what could he possibly mean by that, and who falls asleep so suddenly. As she walked out of the room his words lingered in her mind, if the night was indeed going to get longer then she'd face it as it comes. She walked past the shooting range to another room directly opposite the room Raikaelyn slept in, she placed the rifle on the ground beside her and thew herself on the bed, it's softness enveloping her entire body, she pulled a blanket over her body and drifted off to sleep, desperately hoping that Raikaelyn's words were just a farce.
