Kaelis Borealias POV
The wind smelled like blood, ash and mud. Splatters of ash blood were everywhere. Kaelis looked around examining the scene, blood all over his silver white fur, his golden eyes glistening in the night. He hated war and violence, anything that would take life he detested, he couldn't say same for his wolf though, he loved all this, the blood soaked mud, ash blood splattered on tree trunks and the smell of burnt fur, needless to say, his wolf thrived in the thrill that came with snapping sounds of the neck of his enemies.
He walked around in circles, examining the area, paw covered in mud and ash blood. His back faced them, his golden eyes staring straight ahead. He could hear their whimpering and painful howling behind him, their screams of agony, but that was not enough for him. He let out a deep sigh and proceeded to speak
“All that torture and still nothing,.... I must say i am very disappointed in your inability to predict the sequence of events that are going to take place here, but then again you Ashfall wolves regardless of how strong you are, you're all quite dumb” He said mockingly letting out a little laugh, back still facing them.
“You know, if I were Kralan I would be so proud of your wasted efforts. He said pausing for a second
“Gentlemen, I think we have come to the point where you realise that regardless of how patient and tolerant I am, I am losing my patience with your silence, and I realize that i could easily save both my time and energy asking you for this information when i could just go into your minds and take it. So what's it going to be?”
Still nothing, none of them spoke, no words, not even a sign of willingness. From what he gathered they would rather die than give him any information at all.
He scoffed again, this time turning to look at them, his golden eyes scanning them all, looking for a prey, not the weakest amongst them but the strongest, the most unwavering.
He could smell their fear, he could hear the loud beating of their hearts, he could see how weak and fragile their minds were. It was almost pathetic, such strong wolves with such fragile minds.Their fear wasn't misplaced, they knew what he could do, how strong he was, how ruthless he could be, they knew the possibility of leaving his presence alive was close to zero.
““Nothing?? Well, that’s disappointing. I’m almost insulted by all this. It’s almost like Kralan sent his weakest and dumbest wolflords to do his dirty laundry, not his smartest move. I suppose you leave me with no choice then.”
He stepped away from the others, blood stained paws crunching softly against leaves stained dark from the fight.
The forest seemed to recoil as he stopped before the final captive. Kaelis crouched slightly, bringing himself level with the wolf’s eyes, his golden eyes locked with the wolf. For a moment there was just silence then his eyes shifted—subtle, almost unnoticeable—yet the air around them changed.
The wolflord stiffened, a sharp breath hitching in his chest as something unseen pressed against his thoughts. He could feel another presence in his mind, and suddenly the world inside the wolflord’s head shattered.
Thoughts splintered like glass struck from within. Memories bled into one another—orders, screams, the sound of infants crying—until nothing made sense anymore. Kaelis was suddenly everywhere in his mind, a presence too vast, too heavy to resist.
“Now, let's see,......which memories would cause the most damage” he said smirking, shuffling through the wolflords memories.
““No—no, get out— get out of my head” the wolf rasped, hands clawing at his own temples as if he could tear the voice free.
Kaelis stepped closer, The wolflord screamed
“GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!” He said hands shaking, fingers still clawing at his temples
A little smile danced along Kaelis lips.
“Well make me, it's your mind, I am only a guest “
With a single, deliberate push of will, he turned the wolf’s thoughts against themselves. Instincts misfired. Fear became a command. Control collapsed entirely. He no longer had control of his own mind anymore. Kaelis was everywhere in his mind all at once.
The wolflord screamed once—high, broken—and then his body moved without his permission, obeying a mind that was no longer his own. His body began to shift, his muscles began to spasm and his veins recoiled around his bones and began to break them all at once. The wolflord let out a scream filled with agony, he wanted it to stop but his mind wouldn't listen to him. It felt like being tied with chains in your own house.
His screams of agony were futile. Blood began to fill his lungs and The wolflord’s body betrayed him, moving without mercy, without escape—until the struggle ended as abruptly as it began. It was violent, brief, and utterly futile. He dropped dead, all the bones in his body broken, lungs filled with blood and his brain exploded from within.
Silence fell heavy and absolute.
Kaelis straightened slowly, as if nothing of consequence had occurred.
He didn’t look back at the body.
Instead,He turned back to the remaining wolflords, he could feel their fear, almost like another presence, their heartbeats louder than before, his voice calm, almost bored, eyes cold, a smile on his lips.
“Now,” he said softly, “let’s see who values their sanity enough to speak.”
