Justin’s POV:
The room is dark and I can see two figures in the bed. One is Hunter and one is Emily. For a moment, I stare at Emily. She looks so peaceful under the blankets as she sleeps. Like for once she doesn’t have to be fighting for her life or even fighting for someone else. Then I remember the gash she has on her side and how it looked when I saw her with her shirt up the other day. That had to have been an attack. I left earlier today without even thinking about what Alyson had said to me. I am able to heal her wounds. She can just have some of my blood, and she will be all healed up.
I lean over and turn the lamp on. Emily retracts her head and slowly opens her eyes to look at me. I can’t help the smile that forms across my face. Hunter takes a sharp inhale and sits up.
