Emily’s POV:
I make my way down the stairs. My heart hurts. I don’t want to feel this way about anything. Ton in half, but I know that Hunter is who I am destined to be with and I can’t change that.
I walk down the stairs. Normally, there are at least a few people on the stairs but this time, no one is. My footsteps seem to echo, so I try to walk silently. When I get close enough to see Hunter standing beside Wayne, I can’t help but smile. He looks taller, more official now that he has been getting things done around the pack. His arms are folded across his chest and I follow his gaze. The smile quickly fades as I see the white paper on the floor and the words written on it.
