Life in a small town can be rather boring. You get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, milk the cows, gather the eggs, and feed the animals. Next comes going to your real job if your lucky. Come home and feed the animals, fix and eat dinner, finally shower and bed. Repeat this every day until you die. I was a lucky one. I get to spend my days Monday thru Friday working at our local pizza place, King Pizza Palace. Sounds fancy, right? Well if you think red checkered plastic table cloths and plastic salt and pepper shakers are fancy, then you are at the right place.
Seriously, I live in a small town called Brookridge, Ohio. Home to nothing but county side and one traffic light in the center of town. If you want to go shopping at the mall or a movie, your driving at least an hour away. Population of 1200. Not many people here, but every one knows everyone. You don't have to worry about locking your doors at night, Leave your keys in your truck. It is all safe here.
My name is Allison Roberts. I am twenty three years old. My hair is brown and I added red and blonde highlights and wear my hair long. I am your average girl, I guess. Graduating from college in a few months with my nursing degree, I hope I can leave this little town soon. I live with my parents in the old farm house that has been in our family for years. Unlike, my older brothers who are married and still here in Brookridge, I want to leave. I want to be a trauma nurse and you don't have that here. The most excitement is when Jim Slaughter got so drunk, that he passed out in the cow pasture and Bessie, his wife thought he was abducted by aliens.
I work the lunch shift daily and hate every minute of it. The only thing is we are slow and gives me study time. With a month away until finals, every minute counts. I sat in my favorite booth and was wrapped up in the procedures of suturing and completely didn't here the bell above the door ring.
"Hello? Anyone here or is this serve yourself?"
" Hi! I am so sorry. Here I come."
As I stood from my booth, my eyes met the most handsome man I had ever seen. He was tall, light color skin with classes. He was dressed in black jeans and black tee shirt that showed every ripple on his chest. He wore glasses and held a smile of amusement. He busted me checking him out.
" Please follow me and I will show you to your booth. "
" Can we share a booth? I like company while I eat and I see you have space. "
" Sure. Can I get you something to drink?"
"Water with lime, please."
The handsome man sat down in the booth across from where I was sitting. I got him a menu and his drink. I tried to push the butterflies down as I walked back to the booth. Collecting my nerves, I sat everything down and stood there beside him like it was my first day.
"Please, have a seat. Does the pretty girl studying to be a nurse have a name?"
"My name is Allison."
"Hello, Allison. My name is Alexander Granson. If you don't mind I will have the club on wheat with extra pickles. "
"I will put it ight in and be back."
I rushed to put his order in and stood there and waited for it. I kept sneaking glances at Alexander. He was so sexy. What was wrong with me? I never went crazy over guys like this. But there was something about him. It was like he was drawing me in. His sandwich was ready and I took it to him. Our hands touched and the most amazing sparks ran up my fingers. I sat down in the booth across from him; stunned.
"Allison, tell me about yourself."
