Chapter 9: Jealousy?

Aria's Point of View

Day had passed and I'm really exhausted! Yesterday just yesterday so much had happened and I'm really really tired! That yesterday felt like a week already.

I walk towards Mr. Vale's desk and put down his coffee there, I think he really love me- my coffee I mean.

"Why are you looking like that?" he asked staring at my no-energy body

I forced a smile "I'm just tired sir! But I promise I won't get tired of doing missions beside you." I pledge raising my hands, he only clenched his jaw and look down on his laptop again. I rolled my eyes and get back to my desk.. Today is our rest day in that case, maybe Mr. Vale also had enough of the events yesterday so he told me and Sol to just stay at the company.

But still what happened yesterday couldn't escape my mind.. What if my theories are right? How am I going to embrace it? I searched about the Ashwoods information last night and I found some not very pleasing history of their bloodline.. There's also a history issue that young Sarlia stole the identity of one farmer at the leafdust district.. See? How can I not suspect them? But I'm really sure Sol's heart is pure and mean no harm.

"Aria?" speaking of.. I smiled at Sol "Can we eat lunch together?" she asked showing me her lunch bag..

She's cute "Sure, I'll be right there. I'll just go and prepare Mr. Vale's lunch."

I prepared his lunch and put some cute plating into it, I don't care if he doesn't want my cute plating!

"Good afternoon Mr. Vale, here's your lunch, it's already 12 noon." I gave him a warm smile putting the food on the table where he eats and I bowed my head.

I immediately run at the first floor of the company to eat with Sol at the Cafeteria.

"Hello Sol!" I greeted as I sit in front of her

"Here I ordered you some food to eat." she said while handing me the lunch, I accepted it happily and we both enjoyed our meal

"I haven't seen Sarlia here a lot? Where is she?" I opened the topic to Sol, she immediately turn her gaze into her food

"a.. Ah.. She's just busy in hee company and helping our parents in her freetime.. So you paths don't cross a lot this week.." she said, but I noticed her hands trembling a bit almost not noticeable.

I held her hand that I saw trembling and give her a reassuring smile.

"Solitaire, thank you. You're my best friend." I whispered, my voice is deep and hinting on something I'm sure she got.

She nodded and forced a smile.

"Let's go back?" I asked and she smiled nodding, we get back on our seats but before I let go of her hand I send her a kiss of wind in her hands.

I hope you won't destroy my trust.

"Mr. Vale here's your papers that needed to be signed up."

"Find Sarlia and asked her to sign this." we exchanged papers and I nodded going out of the office.

I look down on the paper, Sarlia Lyn Ashwood.. I finally saw Sarlia at the balcony drinking coffee.

"Ms. Sarlia?" I said in a calm tone, she looked at me frowning

"How dare you disturb me?" she said and snatched the paper, she smiled and signed it immediately..

She harshly gave it back that made me stumble a bit but I immediately cast a wind to protect my balance. She just rolled her eyes and bumped my shoulders when she left

What is that girl's problem? Thank heavens you gave me so much patience for people that are like that girl..

While walking back to the office I read the paper that Sarlia signed in.. Contract in investigating the Light market incident. What?? You mean I have to deal with her unfair attitude until we solve the case?? My heavens!!

With a not-so-good face I give the paper to Mr. Vale, but he seemed to notice it..

"Whats wrong?" he asked with his cold voice, I raise my eyebrow slightly as his tone added to my resentment

"Nothing Sir." I whispered before bowing and sitting back at my chair, I can see in my peripheral vision that he's staring at me for a quite while before making that tsk sound.

The next day

We are at the site again and I'm wearing a very not pleasant expression because I'm getting fed up in Sarlia's presence and mind you she's really clingy to Mr. Vale like a leech.. Her treatment to me is trash while her treatment to Mr. Vale is like a boyfriend.

And Mr. Vale is looking like he enjoys it, psh ugly!

Mr. Vale just changed Sol into Sarlia real quick and it's getting into my nerves, and for the past three hours that we are investigating Sarlia is just stealing Mr. Vale's attention and not even helping. She's clearly triggering me.

As I take pictures of the mirrored symbols that showing some stealing of identity suddenly Sarlia pushed me aside.. I looked behind and I saw Mr. Vale is talking to his phone maybe that's why Sarlia is now pestering me

"No manners." I whispered as I walk away looking into another symbols but same meaning when suddenly Sarlia grabbed my hair

"I've been waiting to do this! You're trying to stole my fiance aren’t you?" She whispered while grabbing my hair

"Let go of me!! I don't even know who's your fiance!" I shouted at her but she grips my hair even morw tighter

"Hmm, acting like you don't know?! It's Lucien! First stealing my position as the secretary! Now trying to seduce him!"

I cast my element pushing her away that made her sit on the ground, I saw Mr. Vale finally see us and walking towards us hands in his pocket

"Enough." He commanded, voice stern and cold like my hands that are freezing in madness.

"She pushed me with that filthy element! Low blooded Elemental wielders!" she screamed, is she trying to frame me??

I was about to grab her again when Mr. Vale grips my arms tightly slightly pushing me away before helping Sarlia up.

I huff air to what I saw, while Sarlia is smirking at me.

"Sir. I'm not feeling well, I need some time alone." I excuse myself and left them two alone before I do something unexplainable to that Sarlia

I've been walking for awhile now and I found myself at the old Dust Chapel.. I sat at the abandoned benches behind the chapel, the benches is full of outgrown bush and twigs but I ignored it.

Why am I even getting triggered by how Sarlia is so close to Mr. Vale? And her fiance? Why didn't I know about that- yeah right who am I to get informed? I'm just a secretary..

Suddenly I remembered what Mr. Vale whispered when he losses control and bit me last full moon.. "I wonder if your blood taste better than her." I scuffed wow

Does my blood taste better than hers? Than Sarlia? I bet not!

I didn't notice that I was too tired and fell asleep at the bench and when I woke up it's already dark..

I checked my phone and it's already 6:56pm.. And my phone is already one percent.. Great. How can I go back when it's too dark here and I don't have anything to light me up? Nice one Aria Ein Storm! You really messed up!

The only light here is the stars and the few candles surrounding the chapel.. This chapel has been abandoned for almost 3 years now because of the earthquake that hit it and destroyed almost hald of it.. and now I'm stranded here.
