13th Tick: Different World

1006 Words
Thomas sat down where Rose was supposed to sit, where he left her. He scratched his head, wondering just what he needed to do. Rose was transported to a different world by Wish, it was not easy for Thomas to figure out which one. He sighed, walking out of town and into the forest. Rose had made a wish, he doubt it was because she really wanted to do so, it was probably under some influence. Even still, Wish would always grant wishes according to how humans wished it, but twisted their words to have a major drawback as well. For example, the vampire being weak to sunlight or his daughter who ran out of energy much faster. Thomas scratched his head and continued walking through the forest, it really was a hard task. If he reversed time on that spot, it might not work, Wish could have erased her from the world. Thomas sighed and clicked the trigger on his pocket watch, entering The World Clock. He sat down, thinking in silence. Eventually, he sighed, standing up and releasing the stopped time. Thomas walked over to a different section of The World Clock. A long hallway that extended to infinity, showing every timeline in existence. Thomas searched through them, putting in restrictions to see what results would come up. A place where Wish had messed with not too long ago, a timeline that would fit that criteria. Luckily, there was only one. Thomas looked at the timeline. It was like a picture framed on the walls of the hallway. He reached out and touched it, instantly getting sucked into it. Thomas rolled to a stop, getting up and looking around him. Things were weird, too many things unknown to him. He stood there, looking around. Objects that moved through the road, people walking past him, giving him looks. He noticed that their clothes were weird too, colourful, with words on their shirts and some with too little clothing for Thomas’ comfort. He wasted no time, stopping time. Thomas walked around. Rose was only sixteen, so in a peaceful world, she would be in school. Thomas tried searching through the nearby schools to no avail. He then walked around, thinking. At that point, he hoped he was lucky enough to just bump into her. He stopped, noticing that a bunch of humans had a thin device out, pointing it above. They looked above them, pointing and chatting with each other. Thomas looked up too, seeing a figure. She had a braid, wore school clothes and had tears falling behind her. She was undoubtedly Rose, she looked and feel like her. Thomas looked closely, seeing something else, a dark cloud clung to her head. Thomas recognised it, a common thing to see when making a wish with Wish. Thomas resumed time and ran forward, catching her. The moment he did, he stopped time again, reducing the impact of the fall on his arms and on Rose. He carried her away and flipped her upside down, resuming time. She fell upwards slightly before falling on the ground again. “What did you think you were doing?” Thomas demanded. “H-” Rose started. “Oh right, people who went to another timeline don’t have their memories...” Thomas whispered before saying. “Aight so you follow me.” “You can see me?” She asked. “Of course, how else am I talking to you?” “How did you save me from falling?” “None of your current business, now get up, we’re leaving this timeline.” He walked away, but Rose did not follow. She was still skeptical about who Thomas was and where he came from. The black cloud whispered to Rose, “You can’t trust him, you can’t trust anyone. Believe in your will to ascend to heaven.” But the guy gave her a familiar feeling, have they met before in the past? Rose tried standing, but the black cloud covered her sight. Rose panicked, she was unable to breathe, unable to speak or shout for help. She scrambled, trying to get Thomas’ attention. Thomas turned around and said, “Twelfth Hour.” The c***k in time opened up and a strong gust of wind blew, comparable with a natural disaster. The black cloud was blown away, the c***k in time disappearing. Thomas sighed and walked back to Rose, extending a hand. She tried reaching out to him, but the black cloud extended, covering the whole room. “Be the pet you are and scram.” Thomas said. “Eleventh Hour.” The cloud just disappeared, Thomas left standing there, Rose looked at him, her hair red again. She had her memories back, the cloud was erased. She looked at Thomas, his expression slightly pale, he must have used a considerable amount of energy for that ability. “Now can we go?” Thomas asked. “Okay...” Rose replied. Thomas grabbed her hand and said, “Ninth Hour.” They sunk into the ground and appeared in the forest where they had previously rested. Rose looked around, taking in the fresh air of the forest. Thomas sat down, breathing hard. “So...” Rose started. “Why would you make a wish?” Thomas complained. “And of all things to live in a different world! What were you thinking?” “Sorry about that.” Rose apologised. Thomas waved it aside and continued, “Next time, if you see Wish, just stay quiet. He won’t attack humans unless they made a wish, okay? Besides, being the child he is, he’s just going to get bored and leave.” “Understood.” “Rest up, we’re leaving for the next town soon.” “Okay.” Rose laid down. It had been a long day for both of them, it was tiring. Rose saw Thomas keeping watch in the dark, his silhouette visible under the bright moonlight. She asked him, “Aren’t you going to ask what made me jump?” “Not interested.” Thomas replied. “I’m really sorry.” “Shut up and go to sleep.” “But I need to apologise.” “Apologising loses its purpose if you say you’re going to do it.” “I’m apologising anyways.” “Whatever you want.” “I’m sorry.” “You already said it, why say it a second time? God, humans are weird.” “Aren’t you human too.” “I know you’re joking, so I’m not going to get mad this time. How do you call someone like me human? Or someone like Wish?” “Will you tell me more about the Myths?” “No, now go to sleep.”
