40th Tick: Stop The Merger

1043 Words
“Performing a sneak attack on someone it not very nice, now is it?” Thomas asked Episode. “I could ask you the same thing.” Episode replied, standing. Thomas shrugged. Behind him, Rose kicked the back of his knee with her one good leg. “Where were you? I had to run around for days just because you became a baby!” “Ouch.” He exclaimed, grabbing his knee. “Well, sorry. I needed to revive you after you got dragged to Heaven. I swear, that place has the worst revival policies.” Episode watched the two of them continue their bicker. “Then why did you turn into a child?” Rose demanded. “You were the dumbest child I’ve ever seen!” “Hey, I’ll have you know that it only took me five years to learn how to crawl.” “That’s a long time!” “Back then humans were undeveloped, okay?” Rose tried getting up, but fell back down from the pain. Thomas told her, “Just sit down.” “What are you planning to do?” Rose demanded. “It’s obvious.” He said. Episode tilted his head, a certain darkness floating around him. Thomas faced the demon general and said, “I politely request that you stop the action of merging the two realms together.” “I refuse.” Episode replied. Thomas walked up to Episode and said, “Is there any way I can convince you?” “I will not be stopped by you.” Episode scowled. “Can you guys not?” Rose asked. “There is a reason why I am unable to stop.” Episode stated, the darkness gathering around his hand. “I miss my home.” “That’s a lie, now ain’t it?” Thomas joked. He leaned to the side, the darkness formed something like a blade, slicing the ground. Before it could hit Rose, it curved and hit the wall next to her. Episode chanted something, words flying around him as he walked up to Thomas. Thomas walked toward him too, swiping his hair up. Thomas had not been conscious during his time as a child. He did not remember a single thing and was unable to return to that time. That was the drawback of helping revive Rose. He has reappeared and tried to throw a sneak punch on Episode before either Rose or Episode could notice. However, Episode had locked eyes with him and attacked him instead. Thomas knew Episode was a dangerous being, and he was determined too. There was no way Thomas could convince him, he had checked a few timelines after returning. The only way was to defeat him to stop merging. Thomas needed to defeat Episode. Thomas slammed into the wall, crashing through it. He looked around, confused. Episode walked up to him, dark words floating around the demon. He had the same lifeless look in his eyes, as if their fight was a waste of time. “I don’t like fights either, but unless you stop that merger, I don’t think I can let this go.” Thomas wheezed. “It’s my job to stop such things from happening.” Episode stepped up and pointed at Thomas, saying an enchantment. Thomas cursed as a force blew him back again. Darkness surrounded him as he tried to get up, throwing him into the ceiling. As he fell, Episode stood waiting for him, a clenched fist in wait. He punched Thomas’ jaw as he fell. Thomas stood up, staggering as his jaw hung weirdly, almost tearing off. He stepped to the side, but accidentally touched one of the words, an explosion throwing him out the window. He felt the raindrops on his skin as he looked through the hole in the wall he had created. Thomas fixed his jaw and faced Episode again. “First time back in a few days and already a strong enemy.” He sighed. The darkness reached from under him, grabbing his arm and pulling down. Thomas’ arm was pulled into the shadow. He looked up, slightly confused before Episode casted another curse. This time, the words appeared on Thomas’ shoulder. Mini explosions set off and his arm was completely separated. He gritted his teeth from the pain and ran at Episode. He saw Episode point at him, not saying a thing. He looked at Episode, some distance away, his dead body falling onto the ground and eventually shattering. Thomas knew one thing, he was not ready for a fight, he was far from ready. “Zeroth Hour.” Time paused and Thomas walked out of range, grabbing a rock and throwing it. “Fifth Hour.” Time resumed and the rock shot through Episode. He stumbled, looking at where the rock had passed through him. Thomas sighed, it was not going to be fun. He was blown away again, a blade of darkness stabbing into his gut. He grabbed the blade, but the darkness started to spread to his hands. “The merger is inevitable. It is only a few minutes before it starts.” Episode told Thomas. “What the-” Thomas complained. The darkness completely stuck to his hands. He said, “Second Hour.” Nothing happened. He looked at the darkness, then at Episode. “What is this?” “As I said, you are unable to stop me, for I am undefeated.” Episode said, “I do not die, I cannot be betrayed if I do not have comrades. I cannot be lonely if loneliness is the only thing I have known. I am simply invulnerable.” The skies started to change colours rapidly. Thomas cursed, wishing he had returned to normal earlier. He shouted at Episode, “Do you know what you will be releasing onto this world of you merge the worlds?” The winds started to pick up. Episode’s hair and hoodie fluttered violently in the wind. “I know but one thing. I am saving the demon realm.” “You’ll be releasing something much more dangerous if you do this!” Thomas shouted. “You’ll be releasing something even the Devil failed to defeat!” Episode stared him in the eyes, his lifeless eyes so striking that Thomas was taken aback. Rose managed to crawl her way out, looking at the changing weather. “What’s going on?” “You think you’re saving the demon realm? Who told you that?” Thomas shouted, desperate. “What do you know about the demon realm?” Episode countered. Around them, the place turned ice cold, the ground freezing, snow falling. The cold froze everything in range. Then it shifted to an inferno where the ground burnt. A meteor fell from the sky, signalling the end of a new world. “Stop this!” Thomas yelled. Episode faced him, the meteor right behind him. He gave Thomas a slight smile, the only emotion he had shown. “I do not care.”
