53rd Tick: Another Deal

A city. The city was odd. While the rest of the world suffered and burnt, that city was happy. Other than Amon’s city, it was the only city for everyone, human or demon, to be happy together. They had wide smiles on their faces as they sang songs and sang praises to each other. “How disgusting.” Wish commented when he appeared there. There was someone nearby, someone who stood out way too much to be a normal human. Tall and slim, he was slightly taller than Thomas. He wore a clown outfit with an elaborate design. White frills around his neck like a jester, a top that had a slight swirl to separate the shirt of red and blue. Yellow triangles hung from several places, and red and blue feathers hung at the back of his shirt. His pants were slightly baggy, a random splash of red and blue. Indeed, he stood out among the humans and demons. On top his head, he wore a hat, a top hat like a magician, the design plain and simple. Red and blue, that was it. Most notable on him was his face. His face was covered by a mask, the eyes were like black tilted crescent moons, and the mouth was twisted into a permanent smile. Below the left eye was a blue teardrop, and below the right eye were a clover, diamond, heart and spade in order. Whether he could see out the mask, he obviously could, how? Not sure. Around the mask, there was sign of hair, slightly long, it was a shocking red and blue, his hair reaching down his neck. Who was this literal clown? “Second of Four Myths, JoyRide. Long time no see.” Wish said. “But it hasn’t been long enough.” Wish saw as JoyRide faced him. The clown tilted his head, and there was a sound similar to that of an old radio being turned on. Wish frowned and looked around, floating in the air. “What are you doing here anyways?” “F-F-For Fu-Fun.” His voice stuttered, and had a certain raspy ness similar to an old radio announcer. He stuttered like a broken radio, and his actions were not that different. JoyRide looked around too. “For fun? Please, I know you can’t.” Wish said. “We’re pretty similar if you think about it. Except, you’re more radical.” JoyRide produced another creak and snapped. The humans and demons stopped in place, the happy smiles turning into scowls. Without a single thought, they started to run at each other and started attacking with what they had. They eyes had an anger that was so intense that they could not discriminate between humans and demons. In a matter of minutes, they had torn each other apart, the ground flowing with blood. JoyRide simply faced the gruesome scene, Wish frowning in the air. “Still as boring as ever.” Wish complained. “Bo-boring?” JoyRide asked. There was a creak, like a radio. Wish looked JoyRide in the mask and told him, “Yeah, the way you play is boring. Don’t make them die instantly, you’re missing the fun.” Wish leaned closer, smiling slyly. “Break their spirit, watch their anguish, it’s much more fun that way.” JoyRide did not move, a voice coming from him. “Fun... W-W-What Is-Is Fun?” JoyRide spread his arms. “Is this world fun?” Wish scowled. JoyRide had been put in isolation for quite some time, so his speech had been slightly off. His voice remained the same, but it was obvious that he was starting to speak in proper sentences. Wish remained floating in the air, watching as the space around them started twisting, a loud screech of a radio coming from JoyRide. JoyRide stopped suddenly and covered his mask. Wish listened, there was an odd noise. Like an old radio, he was laughing, like a sound track, but deeper and much more sinister. “Well, back to my topic, I have a deal for you.” Wish told him. “A deal?” JoyRide asked, tilting his head. “Yes, I think you might like it.” “What is it?” “Soon, a demon will come here and try to take your mask.” Wish explained. “I only need you to make him slightly depressed, nothing else, okay?” “And what do I get in return?” “The cage we locked you in.” Wish said, smiling. “The cage requires all three of us to kelp you inside. For you, if you help me here, I will intentionally not help with the cage. In other words, I keep you free.” “But I am already free.” JoyRide replied. “Are you?” Wish asked, floating over him. JoyRide looked at his hands. There was still traces of the restrictions on him. He was not completely free, not that it mattered to him either ways. JoyRide grabbed his mask and walked away, almost like he was hiding his face. Wish floated there, frowning. JoyRide was not one to talk much, he had his circumstances. Wish would only need to leave him alone and hope he did not kill Episode straight away. Dressed like a clown, a weird voice and never showing his face, just who was JoyRide? He could make people commit g******e in an instant. What exactly was JoyRide? It was simple. If emotions are the power of humans, demons and Angels, if emotions was the deciding factor for a battle, JoyRide would be the weakest being alive. The Second of Four Myths, JoyRide. Wish disappeared, Episode appearing at the edge of the town. Episode watched as the clown walked towards him without a sign of slowing down, speeding up or stopping. A constant pace, JoyRide looking directly at Episode. Episode braced himself for a long battle, the darkness beneath him swirling. Curses started appearing, he was ready for battle. Episode heard a creak of an old radio as JoyRide tilted his head. The demon tried to reach out towards him, to grab his mask, but his eyes widened and he fell to his knees. JoyRide walked past him, to the endless nowhere Episode came from. Wish floated in the air, cursing. “He just had to do it.” Wish complained. “I only said slightly.”
