Rose had been looking at the scenery, then at Thomas when she simply, seemingly, dropped through the ground. She had lost all ability to breathe, all ability to see or touch as she was in the ground. She tried struggling to no avail, and had only managed to exhaust her energy more. Thoughts ran through her mind. Was she being taken away by another creature? Did the forest consume her? She imagined the forest to have taken her as part of its soil to be used as fertiliser. Her eyelids dropped and eventually, she went unconscious. When she came to, she struggled to open her eyes, a bright light above her. There seemed to be people above her, but she was unable to make them out. Someone leaned in closer. She tried to move, but was unable to, so she asked, “Is this heaven?” There were noises coming from the side, they were speaking in a language she was unable to understand. She listened, and realised that it was quite similar to demon speech. Panicked, not knowing what they wanted to do with her. She sat up suddenly, her body hurting. The people around her whispered to each other, all of them looking at her. She faced them, her eyes adjusting. They were pale, had either black or white hair and pale coloured eyes. Rose stared at the closest one, a lady wearing white robes and a harp in her hands. They all had a glowing ring over their heads and a musical instrument in their hands. They even wore golden Jewelry and were barefooted. “So this is Heaven.” Rose muttered. She looked around her, the scenery was different, instead of trees, there were white clouds floating in the wide sky. Beneath her, was a white floor. Plainly speaking, all the white hurt her eyes. Rose tried to step out of the bed she was on, but one of the people rushed forward, stopping her. Rose gave the person a look and stepped off the bed anyways. She could feel the touch of the ground, but she seemed to pass through it. Before she realised, she plunged through the air, the wind sending her red hair loose. She cursed, not expecting to have fallen. She stopped when someone grabbed her arm, almost dislocating her shoulder. She looked up, the woman with the harp held her hand, a pair of beautiful white feathered wings on her back. She smiled gently at Rose and brought both of them up, back to the bed. Rose looked at the woman who simply walked away, the others giving way as another figure walked in. This time, it was someone her age, with pale skin and blonde hair, she had pale green eyes that looked at Rose with kindness. “Please, do not feel uneasy.” The girl told her. “We will bring no harm to you.” “Where am I?” Rose asked. “Heaven.” She replied. “I think you died after falling into a jungle trap. Oh, sorry, I should not speak of death so casually.” “I died?” “Yes, that is how you came to Heaven.” Rose took a look around and shivered, remembering what had happened when she sunk into the ground. She calmed herself, Thomas was most likely going to revive her, there was nothing to worry about. Rose only needed to wait, reversing time was what Thomas liked to do, he did it once and could do it again. Rose faced the girl, she had a flute hanging from her waist. “Why am I here?” Rose demanded. She did not remember awakening in Heaven the last time she died. “Would you rather be in Hell then?” The girl joked. “The human souls there get devoured, so you wouldn’t like that.” Rose took another look at her surroundings. There was a village not too far away, but Rose could sense something with her magic. There was lesser people there than she had thought. “How do I get back?” Rose asked. “You have died, there is no going back.” The girl calmly said. “In Heaven, you will eventually become like us.” “You mean birds?” “Angels, my dear girl.” She laughed lightly. “Angela of Heaven, we are the blessed ones.” “There seems to be quite few.” Rose commented. The girl gave a slight frown, the other people around her whispering among each other. “Well, there were certain... events which changed our way of things.” “I don’t want to be a bird, so can I go back?” Rose requested. “There is no way for you to return to the living.” The girl laughed at her as if it was a joke. “Slowly, you will become an Angel. Your hair will become pale, a halo will form and you will be able to fly freely in the air.” “If I do go back, will I end up as an Angel?” “That will ever happen.” Rose looked around. She had promised Thomas that she was going to travel and see every part of the world. It was nice to see Heaven and all, but she did not like it there. It was too bright, the people there almost seemed too perfect. She would rather be in the human world where everyone she met was a bad person. Rose sat at the edge of the bed, wondering how long it was going to take for Thomas to revive her. The Angels simply looked at her and murmured amongst each other. She sighed, Heaven seemed to be quite the boring place. She thought about it, at least Heaven seemed safe. It was only some time since resting that she had to run when in the human world. The forest was a dangerous place, Thomas was most likely having difficulties dealing with the creatures there. Rose wondered what would happen if Thomas just decided that she was not worth his time. Just when she started to think that, her hand disintegrated. The angels all looked at her in awe as Rose started disintegrating from the bed. The girl reached out for Rose, a look of desperation on her face. Rose did not know why or what she was desperate for, but she knew one thing. Rose reappeared on the rock she sat on before dying. She instantly sat up, afraid. She looked around, trying to find Thomas. She looked around, then below her, seeing a child stare at her. “Please no.” Rose said.
