59th Tick: Out At Sea 4

Rose woke up, stretching and yawning. It had been some time since she had a good rest with proper bedding, even though it was on a ship. Rose looked around the simple room she was in, wondering where Thomas and Truth were. She pushed her thoughts aside, thinking about the time when she got kidnapped. Rose had been walking with Truth along the beach rather silently. She could understand why Thomas would not trust the fairy, and her sixth sense magic was alarming her that Truth was trouble. But at some point, Truth looked behind and gave her an encouraging smile before continuing forward. That was when Rose realised something. Her magic which she relied heavily on, was no longer in effect. She stopped where she stood and looked back to where Thomas was, but heard a scream from Truth. Rose turned and saw a mirror, wide and big enough to completely reflect her. She stared at it for a few seconds, confused. Her image then reached out, through the surface of the mirror and towards Rose. She tried to move backwards, but the image lunged forward and grabbed Rose’s neck, pulling her in. She was in a different environment, foreign and odd. She looked ahead, seeing a demon. She was pretty, long, white hair with a gentle face, her horns sticking out of her hair. She looked at Rose with sharp red eyes which Rose found herself unable to look away. The demon wore a black dress, red roses decorated the long skirt, her arms exposed. Her skin was lighter than the other demons she had previously seen, a light shade of brown. She was slender and looked fit, a pair of daggers strapped behind her waist. Rose was about to say something, so did the demon. However, she was pulled back by Thomas. She hid what she saw from him, there was something about the demon that unsettled her. Rose felt like she should not tell either Thomas or Truth. After she was brought back, she was able to use her sixth sense magic once again. Rose walked out of the door and walked down the hallway, still wearing the clothes she wore onto the ship. Something about having to shower when above water creeped her out. “Good day to you.” A sailor greeted her. “You too.” She greeted back. Rose stopped in front of a door and took a few steps back, the door exploding in front of her. She saw Thomas tumbling out of the room, covering his face with his arm as black smoke filled the room. Truth flew out and hid behind Rose, shouting, “There’s a demon!” Rose took another step back as a demon lumbered out of the door, the door frame unable to fit his large frame. He broke the frame and walked out, chanting something. Thomas glanced in Rose’s direction and cursed, throwing the captain of the ship aside. Words flew from the demon and latched onto Thomas. Rose saw as Thomas struggled, unable to move. The demon turned towards Rose. Rose ran towards Thomas and grabbed the words on him, ripping them off as quickly as she could. The demon chanted something else as he reached for Rose. Rose grabbed Thomas by the collar of his suit and threw him at the demon with all her strength. Thomas hit into the demon, the curse on him breaking and the chanting was stopped. Thomas got up from the fallen demon, the ship shaking more vigorously than before. He tapped the captain. “Twelfth Hour.” The captain was stored in his pocket in time. The two of them ran as fast as they could, Truth flying along with them. Thomas shouted, “Why did you throw me?” “I don’t know! My instinct told me to!” Rose shouted back. “I could have died!” “You would have come back anyways!” “That is not an excuse!” “It can be!” Truth looked back and shouted, “Are the two of you done? He’s catching up!” Thomas cursed, stopping. He ran at the demon instead. Rose paused to look back, shouting, “Are you crazy?” “No!” Thomas shouted back at her. Thomas reached the demon and pulled his fist back. “Fifth Hour!” His fist made contact with the demon. He felt the impact, his wrist shattering, but the demon was stopped. The demon stumbled backwards, clutching his stomach. Thomas aimed a kick at the demon’s left knee. “Fifth Hour!” Thomas felt his sheen break, but so did the demon’s knee. The large demon fell on one knee, reaching out to Thomas who awkwardly hopped away. Thomas lifted his other hand. “Fifth Hour!” His fist made contact with the demon’s head, knocking him out. Rose ran up to support him as his injuries started to heal. He sighed, “At least we get to interview him.” “Twelfth Hour.” The captain laid on the ground once again. The crew managed to get chains to tie the demon up, and with much effort, being him to an isolated room as per Thomas’ request. Thomas limped along, the crew already done with their job. “Wow, how brave.” Rose commented. “Shut up, there was no other choice.” Thomas complained. “What caused the explosion anyways?” Rose asked, curious. “I don’t know, I’m thinking it could be the demon. Most likely is.” Thomas wanted to ask the demon some questions, especially since he needed to find out the missing information. He saw the crew signalled him to enter a certain room, his injuries coincidentally got better, so he walked on his own. Rose followed after him, Thomas concentrated on what he wanted to ask. He wanted to know why and how the demon had got onto the ship, and any potential knowledge on the demon generals. Thomas opened the door. That day, there was no need for an interrogation. In front of him, the demon was no longer there, chains laid fallen on the ground. Thomas cursed, looking at the ceiling. There, was the splatter of blood that proved something, most likely the demon, had been thrown into the ceiling and smeared all over, blood dripping onto the ground. The remains of the demon laid in the corner, unrecognisable. “How horrid.” Truth commented.
