35th Tick: Empty Town 1

Rose watched as the creature started to stand. It was massive, hunched back, it was already taller than the mountains. She watched as it stood straight up, slowly but surely, it rose to full height. Rose observed it, it was grey, its skin looked like rock. Its eyes were beady and black, each the size of Rose herself. Its arms were long, reaching to the top of the trees. It was so tall, its head scratched the sky. Rose looked behind her, the sea in her way. There was no way for her to escape, she was trapped with the monster. She calmed herself, thinking rationally. Thomas had given her protection from creatures, so she was probably at no risk. Probably. The creature turned its body, the wind pressure blowing Rose’s hair back. It lifted one of its massive arms, swinging it through the air. Rose ran and hid behind a rock, not wanting to get blown back into the sea. Thomas clapped playfully, waving his pocket watch around. The arm swung through the air, the clouds in the sky being blown back. Rose muttered, “F-” She was interrupted when something crashed into the sand in front of her. Rose and Thomas both looked at the creature, wondering what it was doing. It was small, looked like a human, but was small. The tiny human was only the size of Rose’s palm, not too much bigger. It had spiky green hair and green eyes. It sat up in the sand, looking at Rose, looking at her appearance. All of a sudden, it simply hopped on its feet, smiling widely. “Hey, I’m Truth, what’s your name?” It asked Rose. Rose looked at the creature hesitantly. “Elizabeth...” “Really?” The creature nodded. “Elizabeth has a good ring to it.” The creature had a female voice, and looked like a girl. She wore a tiny dress, and did not seem to have any other indication of being female. Rose looked as she jumped into the air, a pair of wings appearing on her back. They were like insect wings, but much cleaner and nicer. It flew up to Rose, smiling as it hovered in the air. “You’re a fairy?” Rose asked. “And you’re an Angel?” Truth asked, scratching her chin. “What? No.” Rose replied. “Elizabeth... are you sure?” Truth asked again, leaning closer. “You have a bit of white hair already, you can’t hide it forever. Just show me your halo or your wings, I haven’t seen an Angel in decades.” There was a sudden burst of downward wind, pushing Truth to the ground. The little creature got flattened, cursing as she struggled to get up. Rose looked up, the hand of the creature, the size of half the island, was reaching down towards them. “Help!” Truth squeaked. “What did you do to make that wall angry?” Rose asked. “Not a good time!” The hand reached Rose, a clock appearing on the hand of the creature, it simply shattered. Truth looked up and blinked a few times before flying up to Rose, hugging her face. She shouted, “I love you Elizabeth! Your my saviour!” “Yeah, so what did you do to anger that wall?” Rose asked. “I stole a flower. Oops.” Truth replied, sticking out a tongue. “What kind of flower?” “The flower that is supposed to be at the top of its head, if anyone were to take it out, the creature would get very angry.” Truth explained. “You knew about this beforehand?” “Yes, it was a spur of the moment.” Rose sighed, Thomas trying to reach out towards Truth. Truth flew some distance away before continuing, “So Elizabeth, what are you doing on this fine day?” “Waiting for the climate to change.” Rose replied bluntly. “Then I’m looking for the next town.” “I see, I see.” Truth nodded before pausing. “Wait, you mean you’re an outsider?” “I mean, yeah?” Truth zipped across the air in joy. She shouted, “Years of being stuck in the demon realm, finally, I can leave.” Truth flew and stopped in front of Rose, her eyes glinting. “Hey, Elizabeth, how do you plan to get out?” “By waiting?” Truth scratched her chin, shaking her head. “Nothing’s going to change if you keep waiting.” “It probably will, the whole merger thing and all.” Rose said. “Merger? Someone’s trying to merge the demon realm and human world?” Truth asked, her jaw dropping. Thomas managed to reach out, grabbing Truth. She demanded, “Let go of me!” “Could you answer my questions?” Rose asked. “If you ask this brat to let go of me.” Rose gave her a small smile, saying, “How about after?” Thomas shook her around, laughing. Truth shouted, “Alright alright!” “Aren’t fairies supposed to be blessing humans? I read it before. What’s one fairy doing in the demon realm?” Rose asked. “An Angel of all species should know of what happened.” Truth sighed. Thomas let go of her, Truth floating in the air out of Thomas’ reach. She frowned, scratching her head. “Fairies normally reside in Heaven, but we do occasionally go down to the human world to play. I’m not sure what humans thought we did to think we give blessings, but we just played around. After all, fairies are playful creatures.” “So why are you in the demon realm?” Rose asked her. “I... was captured during the War.” Truth replied. “Rather, a certain demon general captured me to keep as his pet, then he put me in his toy island.” The fairy sighed and sat on Rose’s head. She muttered, “I miss home...” Rose shook Truth off her head before saying, “So you want to follow me?” Truth looked at Rose, then smiled. She laughed and said, “Not really follow. I’m going to be tagging along with you until I find a way to leave this cursed place.” Rose looked around, the sun nowhere near setting. She nodded and told Truth, “Then wait with me.” Thomas yawned, falling asleep. Truth looked at him, then looked away, still holding a grudge against him. She did as Rose recommended, just wasting time away. They talked more, Rose got to know more about Truth, how the fairy had lived and survived in the demon realm. To be honest, Rose admired the little creature for being able to handle what she went through. Soon enough, it was dark around them, the moon hung high above.
