Chapter 18

-Adeera's POV- The next few days went by fairly quickly. Sean continued to keep his nose in books, but I did speak to him about not reading at the table, at least when there are others present. He understood and at each meal he put his book down. I keep meaning to ask what has caught his interest, but I keep getting pulled into meetings and work every time I remember.  Walter spent time visiting the dragon realm, he was received well enough although a decision has not yet been reached. He also visited the vampires. For that visit, Walter took a couple angel warrior friends with him. They also had not made a decision, but eluded that they had been approached by demons.  Austin and I talked about my father's company.  "You aren't going to like what I've found. I don't know who, but someone who has access to our accounts is responsible for the money being gone. The accounting and law firms are doing well and all the money that we should have coming in, has."  "You're telling me that someone from our pack is stealing?" Alex growls in my head as I get angrier.  Austin nods and can no longer look into my eyes. I try to reign in my aura, but it won't happen until I calm down.  I take some deep breaths and start pacing. "The only people with access to our accounts would be the king, queen, and beta and gamma couples. There are several pack members with credit cards, but they couldn't get this kind of access. These are numbers my dad wouldn't have missed. I do not like where that thought leads me."  I punch a wall and continue pacing.  "I'll keep looking Adeera. Your dad definitely would have noticed, but the numbers have continued to stay low since his death." His eyes are still casted down and he's begun to sweat. I need to calm down.  "Keep checking Austin, thank you." He nods and heads out. Damn!  I punch the wall again. Tomorrow is Walter's coronation and a few packs have begun to arrive, more will come tomorrow. I met with everyone who came early, tonight our family dined with our visitors. I had met all of these alphas at my parents' funeral, but didn't really get to spend time talking with them. They were all respectful and I listened as they told us about their families and packs. I didn't allow to much discussion about their packs, but I wanted to know a little about each.  As I put Sean to bed, I remembered my question. "You've been reading an awful lot lately, what has caught your attention?" "I've been reading about angels. There is a whole section in the library about them." I smiled, but I can't help but wonder what was driving his curiosity. "What has been the most interesting fact you've learned about them?" He squints his eyes a little as he thinks. "I think it would have to be the different types of angels. There are the guardians, their sole job is to take care of the humans. Then there are the warriors, they fight evil outside of their realm. At least that's what they were created for. Some angels aren't born to do either of those things, they take care of their realm. They make sure that there is food and everyone's needs are met. Some have families and pitch in with taking care of the realm."  "Wow, I didn't know all of that. I'm proud of you for the progress you've made in your studies. You are doing really well." "Thanks, mom." I lean down and kiss his head, "I love you, my sweet boy." "Love you too." I go into my room, Walter isn't back yet from the angel realm so I take a nice hot soothing bath. I must have fallen asleep because all of the sudden I feel hands massaging my neck. I moan a little, that feels so good. I turn around and lift my chin so Walter could kiss me. He did and grabbed me a towel. he lifted me out and set my on the counter so he could kiss me and dry off my body.  He is so sweet. Soon we are in our own bed.  --- The next morning was a bit of a whirl wind. I was with Camilla and Sheila, making sure everything was on track for this evening. I walked away from the group for a minute to myself and I began to feel a presence of evil.  I look around, but don't see anything. I concentrate and the presence and Alex helps pinpoint where it is coming from.  Me: Walter, I think we have an uninvited guest. It's on the south side of the territory.  Before I know it, I see Walter flying high in the sky. His wings are beautiful, they are white with a grey tint to them. He flies over my position and flies towards the south. Suddenly there is another flying creature. This one has a dark and evil aura, I can see a black mist around the being.  The demon couldn't have been older than his mid twenties, but the evil in him makes him look much older. It look s like they are talking when the demons flies straight for Walter. I watch my mate dodge, but grab the wing of the demon and pull himself onto his back. Then Walter brings a fist down on the demon, crushing the stem of one of the wings.  They begin falling to the ground but Walter uses his wings to fly slightly above the demon to avoid colliding with the ground. The demon comes around fast and catches Walters jaw. I have to admit, my mate is very strong. Walter easily and quickly has the situation handled and the demon subdued.  They slowly walk towards us so I meet them half way. "I tweaked one of the solitary sells to make sure that it would hold a demon if we ever caught one, I'm going to take him there and I'll interrogate him." I nod, "If you need me, let me know." I gave Walter a little smile and got one back in return.  I went straight to find Sean, he was in the middle of a history lesson. I just had to get a hug from my son and see that he was okay.  "Everything okay, mom?" He asked while I help him in my arms.  "Yes, my sweet boy. I just needed a hug." I don't think he bought that, but nodded into me.  After a few minutes, I left and went to my office. I should be outside greeting the packs who are still arriving, but I just need a minute.  Thank you Moon Goddess for wolf senses.
