“Thanks Emily!” Marion waved to her co-worker who had given her a lift home.
Marion opened the front door of their vacated home and quickly walked upstairs to her room. A suitcase and boxes full of Marion’s belongings were on her bed. The suitcase was open, stacked high with clothes and jewelry. Marion went over to her drawers started sifting through them.
“I’ll never forget this place.” Marion mumbled to herself, wiping a tear from her left eye. She reminisced on the day they bought this house.
“We’re trying to find a house big enough for me and my family.” Marion remembered Earl asking the real estate agent. It was a few months after Mariana had died.
“Ah yes!” the agent began as he searched through his company’s database on a computer to process Earl’s request. “Let’s see…”
