Chapter Thirteen

2637 Words
Elmira was just sitting by the window, looking directly towards them, listening to what they're talking about, and had already concealed her pain that she had been feeling since yesterday, since the Gemus had entered the Academy. She needs to be more alert than ever as Loisselle Alteria had already entered the Palace, and she can already go back and forth inside the Palace if she wanted to, and without anyone knowing. She's now become too powerful as she can now go beyond the barrier of the Palace. “I told you to stop, didn’t I?” Sinn was getting angry at the other Gemus in front of him, and yelling at his face, as the other Gemus didn’t even stop getting the Qarath from the Hazzle in the Academy. Elmira is constantly seeing the Gemus' doings inside her head and still listening in the meeting at the same time, as both are important for her. “Why would I listen to you Sinn? You’re just an asshole.” The other Gemus also yelled at him and continued what he was doing, draining the Qarath and energy of the Hazzle in front of him, nearly lifeless. “Because I said so.” Sinn came for him and slapped him hard on the face and he fell asleep for that one hard slap he had received from Gemus Sinn. “You should’ve listened when I was still talking nicely to you, stupid. Sid!” He was calling Sid, shouting on top of his lungs, until he came beside him. “Get him into the dungeon with this Hazzle. Make sure that they won’t be together in one cell. Got it?” Sid nodded and picked up the two on the ground and traveled fast to the dungeon just under the Academy. The dungeon was built under the Academy even before the Academy was built, and only few had known its existence, as no one had needed it, until this day. The people in the Conference room had already talked about the possible solutions for the disease circulating Tarfelli, and had discussed so many cures for the disease and how they will control it from spreading at a high speed. But the Royalties know that they will never do what they have told them as they were the ones who started and made the disease after all. The Royalties just suggested things that they knew there were no use of, but still they did just to keep up the game with them. “Have you seen her?” Elmira glanced at the Man, and the Head of Tarfelli, Mr. Flinn, talking, using his mind. She had heard it as no secret can pass through her. “I haven’t. And I still couldn’t feel her.” Loisselle answered. The two were just doing their things naturally and didn’t make it obvious that they were talking to each other. “You really came for me, Loisselle.” Elmira said, grinning, No one can still see her as she was still in her invisibility. “So, We still need to stay longer, right?” “Yeah. I’ll look around the Palace. Just talk to them.” “Alexis, go with Loisselle. She’ll go out.” Elmira commanded Alexis in her head, even though she still didn't stand up from her chair. Alexis formed a furrow in his brows, as he didn’t know what she was talking about, but still acted normally in front of them. “Please excuse me for a while. I’ll just use the washroom.” She said, and stood up. She bowed in front of the Royalties before she went out of the conference room, as if she's really respecting them. “What are you doing? I told you to go with her.” Elmira said in Alexis’ mind, but still Alexis didn’t move and stayed in his chair. Elmira’s being annoyed as he won’t listen again to what she’s saying. “I’ll kill your Woman, if you don’t follow her now.” Elmira doesn’t want to bring his girlfriend in this case, but she was left with no choice as he doesn’t want to follow her command. Elmira grinned when Alexis stood up from his chair. He will just really move when her girlfriend's name is already concerned, but Elmira doesn't have any plans to kill her, she has brought her back to life after all. “Please excuse me. I’ll just use the restroom.” He said and stormed outside the room to find the woman who had left the conference room. “Entertain them. We’ll follow the woman who just left. And…” Elmira talked to their minds so easily that made them flinch a little due to her sudden speaking through their minds. “Sorry. But keep the others here. And by the way, he will bring up your daughter. Just make a lie that she died a long time ago, and don’t get swayed by what they’re going to say. Okay? We’ll be back.” She said, before she went out and looked for them in the Palace. “She will appear behind you, in a sec.” Elmira suddenly said. She was just behind him, looking out for him as Loisselle is someone he can’t fight with, even with his Qaraths. Alexis' Qaraths were strong, but with Loisselle's level of Qarath, no one can fight her, except Elmira, but Elmira's having a hard time controlling the Gemus. “Are you looking for me?” Loisselle appeared in his back, and in front of Elmira, but he’s not even surprised by her sudden appearance, as Elmira had informed him already. Alexis looked at her, without any interest in his eyes as he didn't even intended to be with her, and as he was just following Elmira’s orders. “I see. You’re not even surprised.” She grinned. “Is this the washroom you’re talking about?” Elmira chuckled as he watched Alexis in front of her, being himself, saying what he wanted to say, even if he's with Loisselle, who can kill him at any time. Alexis doesn’t really care about anything, but when it comes to her woman, she’ll do anything, and that’s why he’s here, facing her. “I got lost.” She said, looking at him. “I see.” Alexis just nodded and then he faced the hallway he was strolling when she had appeared. Loisselle decided to walk beside him, and follow him wherever he's planning to go. “I can’t read this man’s mind.” She said in her mind that Elmira had heard. Elmira just grinned, hearing what she just said, knowing how frustrated she must have been as he couldn't read Alexis. “So we’ve met before right?” She started a conversation with him, and tried to read his mind while they were walking, but she still failed to do so, as Alexis is well protected by the Qarath from Elmira’s paper and from the Qarath coming from the Emerald which Elmira has given him when he was born. “Yes. You’re Rebecca’s friend.” He said, not minding her beside him. Elmira was just behind them, following, and observing her actions. “You remembered me.” “How wouldn’t I remember you, If you had been a pain in the ass. And You had escaped the Academy once, and that was the day the Palace had instructed everyone not to go out.” Alexis was having a monologue in his mind that Elmira had heard clearly. “Yeah. Of course.” He said, not putting any soul or any feelings in what he had said. “By the way. Have you heard about the story of a little girl that was travelled to Glith and came back after fourteen years?” She said, flashing an evil grin in her face, trying to get Alexis’ Attention. “I have heard. Just now.” He said, doesn’t even care about what she was saying. “I heard she’s living now here in the Palace. So you might’ve seen her, right?” Elmira stopped, as well as Alexis. Now she’s starting her plan to look for her. “I don’t know who you were talking about. I wasn’t here all the time, you know…” He said, still looking at the hallway. “But can I ask you one thing?” Alexis turned his gaze towards her, looking directly in her eyes as he wanted to know something from her. “Yes, of course. Spill it.” She said, being excited, or just pretending to be. “Since when did you leave the Academy? Weren't you there when we raised the barrier yesterday morning?” He asked as he was being suspicious about something. They weren’t allowed to get out of the Academy as per instructions of the Royal Palace as they were all safe inside the Academy, but she left. “Yes. I was there. But I left as soon as we had finished. My Family needed me in Tarfelli, so I needed to leave.” She said, not losing eye contact with him. Alexis just nodded as if he had heard the answer he was waiting to hear, and walked again like he doesn’t care at all. “A family huh. As if you had one.” Elmira raised her brows when she heard Alexis saying those in his mind. It’s as if he knew her very well, as he said those in his mind. Elmira just followed them again until they arrived on the veranda of the second floor. “I was just curious. How did your sister die? You know, it was still a mystery to everyone.” She was slowly building the topic that she wanted Alexis to know. “She just died.” He said, wanted to change the topic. He's still not so comfortable talking about her sister, until now. “Inside the Palace? How did the culprit do that when you were all inside the well protected Palace? Aren’t you curious about that?” Alexis faced him, and looked directly towards her eyes. “You already know the whole story. What’s the point of asking me, then?” He said, uninterested about her curiosity. “Just, you know… Clearing things. And, just thinking if you might’ve wanted to hear my version of the story.” She said, teasing him about the things she has knowledge of. “I am not interested. And if you were looking for a particular person living here in the Palace, sorry, but I couldn’t help you with that.” He said, looking away. “How long do I need to be with this woman? Tss.” Elmira had heard him talking again with himself internally. “Sid, Sinn. I need to go to Tarfelli to check something. Stay here, and do not let anyone get any Qarath from those in the dungeon. I’ll be back.” Elmira had seen how Gemus Savvy had vanished in front of the two in her mind, still looking at the two in front of her. “Aren’t you going back inside?” Alexis asked her as he was so bored being with the person beside him. But Loisselle doesn’t want to go back yet as he’s trying to get his Qarath. “Not yet. Can you tour me around the Palace? You know, it was just my first time entering this huge Place. I just want to see the place during my stay. Isn’t that possible?” She was trying to act cute, and trying to persuade him to take him on a tour. “Yes. It isn’t possible.” But, because it was Alexis he was asking for, she couldn’t get anything from him, as Alexis doesn’t want to be acquainted with her, he just couldn’t stand being with another woman except her girlfriend, Rebecca. “I’m going back inside.” He turned around from her and started walking away when he stopped, just in front of Elmira whom he still couldn’t see. He looked at his feet, who had stopped involuntarily. “What do you think you are doing?” He asked, being annoyed as he couldn’t move his feet to walk. “You really think, you can just get away from me?” She said, being proud of herself. “Because You’re already here, might as well use you with what I wanted to happen, right?” She walked towards him and stopped when he was already beside him. He held his chin and He made him look at her. “Where are you? We need to go back to Tarfelli now!” Elmira had heard Mr. Flinn inside her head, shouting for Loisselle, so she had stopped from what she was trying to do with Alexis. She was getting ready to manipulate her when she heard Mr. Flinn in his head. “What’s happening?” “A Gemus was inside our barriers. Come on.” “A Gemus?” She repeated. “Yes, and he was bringing down our barriers. If he pulled it down all by himself, our plans will just be put to waste.” “We’ll see each other again, Hazzle.” She said before she had vanished beside him. Elmira was just watching them all this time, and reading her head for what they are planning to do. Now that she has seen her plans, she can now proceed to her own plans that were already made beforehand, even before she went to Glith. “What’s that?” Alexis was so confused as she just left suddenly, but still couldn’t move. “Thank me, Hazzle. She was trying to manipulate you.” Elmira said in his mind, still couldn’t be seen in her invisibility. “Why would I? You were the one who told me to go with her. That’s your responsibility after all. And why the heck I still can’t move?” He said, without trying to pause as he is being so pissed off about the fact that he can’t move for the second time around. The very first time was when they were inside the cave as Elmira had stopped her from going outside. “I don’t know. That’s not my responsibility now. Goodbye. Have a nice day.” She said, but she didn’t leave him yet as she still can feel them nearby. “What the! Don’t leave me here! This is still your responsibility! You idiot.” He was shouting, but he couldn’t see where Elmira was. “Sorry. I couldn’t help you with that, as I am an idiot.” She said through his mind, mimicking him for what he had called her. “Tarfelli is in danger. The disease has already spread out through the air, and everyone will die at a very high speed. I managed to locate where it had come from, but I couldn’t stop it. I had turned down one part of their barrier so they could leave the place, but I only got to open up one side as they came back, so I left fast.” Elmira had listened to his report through her mind, and nodded after she heard everything. “Leave it be, and finish your tasks in the dungeon before she moves again. Keep me updated Savvy.” Elmira relayed her message through her mind and let Alexis free from the Stopping Qarath. “Just be ready. It will hurt… a lot.” He said in his most concerned tone and vanished in Elmira’s mind. As soon as Elmira freed Alexis, she teleported to her room, and put the barrier of her room at its highest capability, so no one could enter, as it will be her most vulnerable day ever in her life.
