Twenty-Nine

The Palace has been in chaos as they try to contain the Hazzles inside as the rain won’t stop pouring any minute from now. But there were just so many Hazzles who were present at the party and they hardly fit inside. The Palace even had provided a tent outside so the other Hazzles could stay outside. The Royalties stayed on the first floor of the Palace, overlooking the crowd on the ground floor. “Al. We’re very sorry. But we couldn’t continue this party anymore.” The Queen started, staring towards Alexis. Her eyes were puffed up as she had cried a lot after they left Elmira’s room. She couldn’t even make it to where they are if it’s not for Jack who had convinced her. “I’m really sorry. But their safety is our priority now, as you had heard what that Gemus had told us earlier. The Gemus had probably killed everyone in the Academy, and that is not so far away from here.” She explained. “Stop saying sorry. I understand. And I told you that I don’t need a Celebration beforehand, but you still insisted.” He said, looking down to the ground floor. “What do we do with all of them now?” He asked. “Now that’s another problem. If only we could bring them back to their places in an instant, but we can’t.” The King said. It’s a bigger problem now, as they need to bring them back as soon as possible as it’s becoming more dangerous as time passes by. “I know a way.” They all looked towards Smith who suddenly spoke beside them. “I can open a portal. I had already opened a portal twice.” He said, glancing at them, one by one. “Can you do that right now Pa?” The King asked him,a s it is the best option that they have right now, as no one from them can do the same. They couldn’t even teleport everyone at the same time, and if they’ll teleport them, it will take them days to bring everyone back, as only three of them can use teleportation. “I think so. But I need something.” “What is it Pa? We’ll provide it for you.” Elizabeth said fast. Redina was just looking towards him as he knew what he was saying as she was there when Smith opened those portals that he was saying, and she knew what he needed to open a portal. “The Hand Mirror of Elmira.” He said. “You mean the one that she let us bring into the Academy?” Smith nodded as it was the mirror he was talking about. “So it’s still in her possession, I suppose.” Elizabeth became so uneasy and became low-spirited as she remembered what they had witnessed in her room, how they had seen her suffering and dying in pain, but they couldn’t even do anything to help her. Jack puts his hands on her shoulders to support her emotionally, as Elizabeth seems to break down again in tears. *** In her room, Elmira was still lying on her bed, nearly lifeless, panting, and just staring at her white and gold ceiling with her glazed eyes, as she’s trying to endure what she’s feeling from what her Gemus inside the Palace had been doing, while she was listening on what the Royalties were up to. Her three Gemus couldn’t even glance at her as they were all hurting and couldn’t stand to see her suffering, as everyone else. Savvy, who had been told that he had broken her trust, didn’t even mind it, and never took it seriously, as it’s nothing for him. He had already heard a lot of hurtful words from her, way worse than what she had said earlier. And he knew that he didn’t do anything wrong as he was just trying to help her in his own way. “Where is the hand mirror?” Elmira asked the three of them through her mind as she was just so tired that she couldn’t even open her mouth to speak. The three of them had looked towards each other, asking themselves who had it, but they all shrugged at the same time, as they didn't have it at the moment. “We don’t have it.” Savvy said, looking at her, but he looked away as fast as he could as he really can’t stand to see her being like that. Elmira blinks fast as she stares at the ceiling. “ Talk to me in your mind. She has it.” The three of them stared at her fast as they heard her say that in their minds. “You mean, her?” Sinn was trying to be certain about what she had told them as she wasn't even showing any expression in her face while she was talking about her. “Yes. And she had already witnessed me in this condition.” She said through their minds like it doesn’t even concern her at all. “And you’re not even alarmed by that? I really can’t understand you.” Sinn shakes his head as he just couldn’t believe how Elmira has no reaction at all, after she had known that Loisselle had already seen her in her most vulnerable moment. It can be so dangerous as she could just go into the Palace and kill her in an instant because of her condition. “She had just seen me like this, but she won’t come to me the soonest, as she had also felt my presence and Qarath. She won’t come until she knows that she can already kill me.” She said. In a blink of an eye, she had already got the mirror in her hands as she had summoned it from her. “Becca. Come here in my room and bring PaSmith with you. Just the two of you.” She had called Rebecca through her mind as she had heard them talking about opening portals and that Smith needed it. Not long after, Elmira had already felt their presence outside her room, and directed her three Gemus to open the door and let them in. As Sid was opening the door, Elmira, with the help of Sinn had sat on her bed and leaned on her bed headboard, and Savvy was just watching them all, and when Elmira had seen her, she just rolled her eyes towards him and said, “Stupid.” Rebecca came inside her room with Smith beside her, and they directed towards her bed as Elmira had motioned her head to come near her. “How are you?” Smith asked her as he sat on the couch beside her bed. “Not feeling any better.” She flashed a half smile in her face as she still wanted to look presentable in front of them, not like how they had seen her a while back because of Savvy’s sudden decision. Savvy had insisted to get her Family inside the room, but as she couldn’t even argue more, as she was feeling unwell, she just cried due to her frustrations and annoyance towards Savvy, that the sky had also poured heavy rains because of her sudden burst of tears. “I heard you need this to open a portal.” Elmira said, trying to speak in her very normal voice, but it still shows how she’s still suffering a lot from what she was feeling. “We are planning to get everyone back to their own places as soon as possible. And we only have that as an option.” He said. Smith was a shy old man, but when Elmira’s around, and is talking to him directly, he doesn’t even care about those who were around them, as long as he could answer her. “I see. Here.” She handed him the hand mirror she was holding on her right hand. “But bring it back after.” Smith received it in his hands. “Rebecca.” Elmira directed her gaze to Rebecca who was still standing beside her bed. “Help him to open a portal.” She said, but Rebecca was so startled about what she had told her, as her eyes widened as her brows formed a furrow. “Me? I can’t. I don’t know how to open up portals.” She said, shaking her head sideways as she knows to herself that she doesn’t really know how to open a portal. “You can. I told you that you have obtained another set of Qaraths, right?” Becca nodded as an answer for her question. “And it’s one of those Qaraths. You can already use teleportation without having any troubles, so I know that you could also use your Qarath to open a portal.” Elmira shut her eyes closed for a minute before she opened it up again. “Just ask for his guidance. PaSmith could help you, so you must help him too.” Elmira couldn’t speak again through her mouth so she has delivered her message through her mind that everyone in the room could still hear. “You can go now. And before I forget, just open four portals.” They were just looking at her and waiting for her explanation on why she had said that in their minds. “Because no one from Tarfelli had attended, as no one is alive there. Even their Rulers had already died.” She said that made them all stop. Even her three Gemus were not so pleased to hear the news that she had delivered in her normal tone in her head, being so calm even when she was telling them very bad news. “How did you know that?” Rebecca still can’t believe the news but what is disturbing her most now is the fact that Elmira had known it even though she was just inside her room all along. “You had already heard the reason earlier from Sid, Becca. You only need to believe.” She said. “You can really go now. And make sure that everyone can get back to their place, safely.” She added. They both nodded like they were not in their real self as they were still in shock about the news. Sid once again opened up the door for them and locked it back when they were already gone. “What happened?” Savvy ran towards her as he had noticed something a while ago, when she had shut her eyes for a minute while talking to them. “All Gemus had reached their limit.” She said, closing her eyes again as Savvy helped her to lie down on her bed again. “And it’s another problem how you could bring them back all to Emerald at once.” She said. She was already lying on her bed, still closed eyes, as she could feel her eyes changing colors. “And as long as she’s there, I wouldn’t let you three go there, not unless I am with you.” As she opened her eyes again, The three Gemus had all quickly gathered together, Savvy at the center, on her right was Sinn, and Sid on the left, standing at the foot of her bed, and all gave her a ninety degree bow at the same time, giving their high regards and respect towards her. “And this is another reason why I am not even alarmed about her, seeing me like this, as I am already feeling this body obtaining Immortality. And no one should know about this, except the three of you.” She said through their minds, and blinked fast to change her eye-color back to its original color, a brown with a shade of green, her Hazzle body’s natural eye color, away from her real eye color as the Empress of Emerald. The sparkling ocean-blue eyes that whoever can see it, wil eventually remember her, as they knew that the only person that had those pair of eyes was the Empress, alone.
