Chapter Nineteen

“Those Gemus beside you a while ago…”

They were inside Alexis’s room in the dormitory of the Academy, gathered around the table to have their meeting. They were only three inside the room as Elmira didn’t let the three Gemus to be at their meeting.

“They are my very first Gemus in Emerald.” She said, while looking at the hand mirror the Queen had given her, right as she entered the room.

“They were Alexis’ bodyguards…” The Queen can’t even finish what she’s saying as she’s so nervous about the three Gemus that they have seen earlier.

“I told them to enter the Palace so they can protect you, especially Alexis while I was away. They’re harmless, but they can be more dangerous than any Gemus out there. They’re the only Gemus I trust.” Elmira put down the mirror into the table, and stared at them.

“So… Have you heard about the borders of Pyrisium and Vainussei?” Elmira was looking at them, but also constantly peeking at the mirror on the table, as she was watching what’s happening in Crymph.

“Yes. We had already sent Hazzles with Water-Qarath at the site to stop the fire. We’re controlling the situation thoroughly.” The King answered.

Elmira nodded. “How many Hazzles have you sent there?”

“Forty-five in total.”

“When did you send them?” Elmira only looks at them when she’s asking something, but after she’s done, she directs her attention to the mirror on the table in front of her.

“Last night…” Elmira nodded again as she heard their answer. “But can we know what you are seeing from that mirror? You’ve been constantly glancing there, we’re just getting curious.” The Queen said, trying to see what she was watching there, as she’s just on her right side, but only to see Elmira’s reflection.

“I was looking for those Hazzles that you had evacuated from Southern Quoatilphus to Crymph. They wanted to get back to their houses in Quoatilphus as you all know what happened in Crymph. They’re being blamed for what had happened there, so they just wanted to leave and get back to their original home.”

She stared at them. “What do you think? Will you let them go?”

“We’ll try to communicate with them first, and see what we can do about that. And we’ll look for the Southern Quoatilphus first if it’s not already dangerous there to go back.” The King said.

“Okay. They’re your people, so decide for them…” She said, agreeing with them. “Let’s go back to that forty-five Hazzles that you have sent in the borders of Pyrisium. Have you already heard anything from them?”

“We haven’t.”

“You haven’t... I’ll tell you a report about what is happening there right now.” She said, getting her eyes off of the mirror. She had already seen them in the borders of Pyrisium and Vainussei, trying to control the fire that had been slowly eating the forest in between the two lands.

“Those Hazzles couldn’t control the situation there as their waters were making the fire grow bigger. They couldn’t even get past the entrance of the forest from Pyrisium, and it will take them a day to detour to get to the other side. But they still couldn’t guarantee the success of putting away the fire even if they get to Vainussei, as they also have limited resources of water there.” She explained what she had seen towards them as they needed to know what was happening about their people who they couldn’t contact even using the Queen’s Qarath through dreams.

“So what do you think you need to do with that?” She asked them. She wanted to hear their answer, if they really knew what to do.

“So we need to send Hazzles who have Fire Qarath, so they can control the element.” The King concluded.

“That’s right. And almost all the Hazzles living in Vainussei possess Fire Qarath. But they never tried to control the fire, even for once.”

“Are you saying that they are the reason behind the forest fire?” The Queen asked as she concluded that they are the reason behind their problem, to which Elmira just answered her with a grin on her face.

“What do you think?”

The two glanced at each other as Elmira gave them so many puzzles that they couldn’t even process at once.

“So we couldn’t give them orders.” The King said, looking towards Elmira.

“You still can. But no one will listen.”

“Then what should we do to stop the fire?”

“Simply. Look for other Hazzles that can control the Fire Element. You still have someone in the Palace that can do that perfectly. And try to talk to Rebecca if she can persuade her parents to help you.”

“And how can her parents help us with this?” The Queen asked, trying to hide her irritation from that woman living now in the Palace with Alexis.

“She’s the only daughter of the Rulers of Vainussei. And she can also help along with Alexis.”

“Alexis?” They both uttered at the same time, as they didn’t even know their Son’s capability.

“Yes. Well, he just learned it, but he had already mastered controlling the Fire. And Rebecca, she was from a family of Fire users.”

“I thought Rebecca could only read minds?” The Queen asked, doubting Rebecca’s Qaraths.

“It’s her Special Qarath, along with manipulation, Just like how you have your special Qaraths. But Rebecca’s different. And that’s another reason why I had let her enter the Palace. She can help you with everything.” Elmira smirks as she talks about her, as she just loves Rebecca’s abilities.

“And if she couldn’t persuade her parents, tell her to just manipulate them.” She added.

Elmira suddenly had stopped. Her smile suddenly faded from her face, and got so serious, staring at the space.

The two had noticed her sudden quietness and witnessed how she was just staring somewhere.

“El, what’s happening?”

“She’s inside the Palace. Putting everyone to sleep.” She heard Savvy inside her head, but she can already see her walking through the entrance of the Palace, walking on the wide open space from the entrance, and putting everyone that she encountered to sleep.

Everyone’s falling on the floor as they’re trying to get near her, trying to ask her what they can do for her, but she never lets anyone get near her.

She saw her stopped in the middle of the staircase, looking straight on top, at the last step of the stairs, where she had seen Rebecca standing.

“El, tell us what’s happening, we’re getting nervous.” The Queen said, still looking at her, her brows furrowed, as she’s holding Jack’s hand, trying to figure out what was happening, and what is she seeing that she suddenly became so serious out of nowhere.

“Loisselle.” Elmira heard Rebecca call her name as Loisselle just grinned towards her, looking at her eyes, trying to read her mind.

“We need to get back to the Palace.” Elmira said, not looking at them.

“What’s happening there? El, please tell us.” The Queen pleaded but Elmira didn’t answer her as she was talking to her Gemus.

“I’ll get inside the Palace. Control the Gemus for now. And let’s talk later.” Elmira said through their minds.

“We’ll be on standby if you need us.” Savvy said, as Elmira stood up from her chair.

“Someone had entered the Palace, putting everyone asleep. Now I need you to-” Elmira had stopped as she heard her again inside her head.

“Who did this to you? I couldn’t enter your mind now.” Loisselle was talking inside her head but Elmira could hear what she was saying loud and clear in her mind.

“I need you to just stay behind me. I’ll make you invisible. Come on.” Elmira didn’t even hold them as she teleported them back to the Palace.

They all arrived outside the main entrance of the Palace. The two was already invisible but Elmira could see them clearly.

“Remember. Stay behind me. I’ll talk to her, and just listen.” She reminded them through their minds.

“You can talk, but It’s dangerous, so just be as silent as possible” She added.

“Who’s that person that we need to hide from?” The King asked as he’s being curious on how Elmira’s reacting towards the person she was talking about.

“She's someone you already saw. Just be quiet and you’ll know once you see her.”

Elmira walked through the Door and the two walked behind her, trying to not talk.

The door opened without her pushing it. And they entered the doorway.

The two behind her were just looking around, their eyes rounded and widened. The Queen’s covering her mouth to not make any noise as they are seeing the Hazzles lying on the floor. There were so many of them, that they were all over the open space of the Palace.

Elmira was just directly looking at Loisselle who’s still looking at Rebecca as it seemed that she still hadn't felt her presence behind her. While Rebecca was looking passed her, and looking directly towards Elmira.

“Let me handle this Becca. Just don’t let Alexis come near me. He’s already getting out of his room.” She relayed her message towards Rebecca’s mind as she doesn’t want Loisselle to hear anything that she’s saying towards her.

Rebecca nodded as she knew what Loisselle had done to her. She was aware that Loisselle was the one who had been manipulating her ever since but she just doesn’t know how to counter her manipulation, and when Elmira had helped her to remove Loisselle’s manipulation from her, she was very thankful.

As Loisselle had seen her nodding, she turned her gaze on her back and saw Elmira standing there at the foot of the staircase.

Elmira stared directly towards her eyes when she turned around to see her. She was just looking at her, and grinned in front of her, while the two behind her were left gasping as they saw her face.

“She’s from Tarfelli, What is she doing here?” She heard Elizabeth’s voice as she was talking inside her head, but Elmira didn’t answer her as she was just talking to herself.

“We've met… again." Elmira said while looking at her, and it sounds like she's starting to tease her as she is grinning while she talks.

"Here's the Princess of Harzenia from Glith." Loisselle said while she's smirking, trying to tease Elmira just like what she was doing.

Elmira looked past her, on top of the staircase, and caught Alexis' eyes glaring at her, furrow forming into his brows, as he couldn't understand what he just had heard from Loisselle.

"Oh sorry. I think the Prince doesn't even know." She was smiling ear to ear, making fun of her, but Elmira didn't seem to care at all as she just grinned, looking back at her.

"I thought you'll be denying the fact that we've already met. I see… You remembered it all. So what are you doing here? It seems like you're lost again." Elmira didn't even try to act like someone she isn't in front of her, like how she always does when she was with Redina.

"I am here to see the Princess that had just come back from the dead. So how's Glith's life?" They were looking at each other like they're talking to each other in their minds but they aren't.

Alexis was just listening on top of the staircase looking at the both of them, with Rebecca beside her, stopping her from going down towards Elmira.

"Then why did you put them to sleep?" Elmira asked, losing her grin. She's become serious looking at her. "Removing every hindrance just to see me? Is that what you're trying to do?" Elmira's trying her best to avoid starting a fight with her, but every word was coming just naturally from her mouth.

"No. But I can kill them if you want. Right now." Rebecca was flying towards her, as she pointed her hands in her neck, choking her and getting her beside her. Everyone was left gasping, eyes widened as they watched how she was forced to get beside her. Alexis shouted, trying to get her back but he couldn't. Rebecca was struggling as she was losing air to breath.

"You made her this way right? That's why I couldn't enter her mind again. Now look what I will do to her as she's already useless to me." Elmira remained calm and looked at what she was doing. She was still on the foot of the staircase as Loisselle was still in the middle. She doesn't even move to help Rebecca.

Rebecca's tearing as she tries to get away from Loisselle, and because she's having a hard time breathing as she was holding her in her throat.

"Try to kill her then." She said as she stared at her. Her eyes were changing colors to intense green, and letting Rebecca breathe normally even Loisselle's choking her and is willing to kill her right in front of them all.

"Stay calm Becca. I'm here. I won't let anyone get killed in front of me. Just breathe normally." She relayed, towards her mind.

"What the hell are you doing" Alexis was trying to get towards Loisselle to get back Rebecca, but he was stuck to where he was standing as Elmira's not letting him go.

"Aren't you supposed to stop me?" Loisselle was looking at her with anger, and annoyance as she's not even doing anything to stop her.

"Why would I? So you can know my Qarath and get it as an exchange? I won't risk myself just to save anyone, remember that." She said.

"Can you now breathe normally?" She asked Rebecca as she was still in her hands. Blood was rushing down her neck as Loisselle's nails were cutting through her skin.

"Yeah." She answered through her mind that Elmira had read for her.

"Now, use your fire and electricity Becca, while holding her hand. Do it slowly and calm yourself, understand?"

" I can't. She's trying to get my Qarath." She heard her say as she was struggling in her hands. Elmira was just looking at Loisselle with her green eyes, studying her just by looking.

"Then I will kill this woman now. Prince of Harzenia, why don't you say your last goodbye to your woman? I'll be giving you a minute to say what you wanted to say." She said, turning around to see Alexis as she's holding Rebecca in her right hand.

Alexis couldn't do anything, words had left him, as he couldn't say anything even he wanted to speak. He's trying to control her tears from falling as she can see her struggling right in front of him, but he couldn't even do something to save her.

"A minute must be too long." Elmira said as she's getting Loisselle's hands off of Rebecca, with just looking.

"s**t! What are you doing!!" Loisselle's twitching in pain as she's removing her hands from Rebecca's neck. Rebecca nearly loses her balance but Elmira raises her through the air, putting her back beside Alexis.

"I'm doing what you wanted to prove." Elmira said, giving her pain in her arms that she used to choke Rebecca.

"The f**k! I'll get back to you. So wait for me." She vanished right in front of everyone. Elmira held on to the railings of the staircase to give her support as it consumed her a lot of energy just by giving her a small pain, as Loisselle had become so strong, while Elmira hadn't even got her limit for her body to work properly with her Qaraths.

"Are you alright?" The Queen rushed towards her to support her, now visible to everyone.

"Yes. Give this to all the Hazzles who had fallen asleep with her Qarath." She's giving her a vial filled with blue liquid from her hands that she accepted fast.

"Pa, can you get me on top? I'll just heal her." She said, looking at the King.

"Come on." She held towards her and Jack supported her weight as she was losing her balance.

They arrived on top where Alexis and Rebecca are in just a second. She kneeled down to level with Rebecca who's lying on Alexis' lap, making it her pillow.

"I'm sorry. You've got dragged with this mess." She placed her palm on top of her neck to heal her wound, and to bring back her other Qaraths that Loisselle had gotten and gave her protection so no one could get her Qarath again, just like the protection of every single Royalty in the Palace.

"Get me out of here." She called her Gemus through her head so she could get out of the Palace as she couldn't stand up anymore. She was so drained from that little thing she had done towards Loisselle.

They arrived inside the Palace where Elmira is, and they all stepped back to not get near the Gemus as they were scared by their presence alone.

"Explain to him everything that he had heard. Do not leave any single lie unanswered." She said, directing towards Jack and Elizabeth's mind.

"I'll be back." She said, as her Gemus held her on her shoulders and arms, and vanished in front of them all.
