Miss President

1050 Words
Sasha possessed stunning black eyes that sparkled with a mischievous glint, framed by her sleek, jet-black bob cut. A small mole adorned the left corner of her upper lip, adding a touch of charisma to her cutesy, round face. Her features seemed tailor-made for the screen, a perfect face for the movies. However, Joshua's interest in beauty and superficial appearances was nonexistent. Instead, it sickened him to his core. Anyone considered beautiful was just as trashy in his eyes as he was in his own. Sasha, unaffected by his frustration, maintained her sweet smile as she tried to convince him of the mutual benefits. "Come on, why are you so angry? I'm not asking you to do all the work here. This would be beneficial for both of us. Trust me, once you realize that hardly anyone in my batch wants to work with you, you'll thank me," she gently urged, her words dripping with persuasion. Joshua ran his fingers through his hair, a telltale sign of his mounting exasperation. The fact that she didn’t even acknowledge what he just said showed a lot about what kind of person she was. “Delusional”. Sasha's admiration for his beauty was evident as she drank in every detail of his appearance. From the flexed muscles of his exposed forearm, revealed by the rolled-up sleeves of his sea-green sweater, to the silky shine of his strawberry-blonde hair that seemed to dance in frozen time, she couldn't help but be captivated by his magnetism, her lips slightly ajar. "I don't care, and I certainly don't need your kindness or your hands anywhere near me. If you touch me one more time, I will report you for harassment," Joshua said sternly, his gaze piercing into Sasha's eyes. Sasha couldn't help but roll her eyes at his familiar threat. She never took his words seriously, finding amusement in his repeated warnings. "Fine, fine," Sasha replied, drawing out her words and raising her hands in a mock surrender, assuming that he often didn't mean what he said. As Joshua clenched his fist, she couldn't help but chuckle, fully aware of his frustration. “You will be running to me in a few weeks anyway when no one will agree to work with you.” Without uttering another word, Joshua turned on his heel and walked away, leaving Sasha still amused. She placed her hands on the table, her attention now fully on the novel in front of her. With a swift motion, she rotated the book 180 degrees to ensure it faced her properly. The title caught her eyes - "When Dreams Come True." Sasha couldn't help but smirk. "Maybe, just maybe, I could be the key to unlocking your dreams, Joshua," she mused aloud, her gaze shifting to the spot where Joshua had disappeared. A joyous smile played on her lips as she contemplated the possibilities. ... 'Should I ask someone here?' Quinn pondered silently before vigorously shaking her head, dismissing the idea. The guy she had spotted last week in the university garden seemed to have vanished. He was nowhere to be found in and around the circle of people she knew, and she had not been able to take him off her mind ever since. "I can't be the only one unaware of his existence. People here wouldn't let someone that captivating go unnoticed," she reasoned to herself, her sharp, dusty brown eyes scanning the students gathered in the photography student council room. Quinn's concern stemmed from the possibility that if she were to inquire about him with others, it could lead to rivalry. The members of her photography major wouldn't allow such a stunning man to slip through their grasp. She concluded that if he wasn't well-known among the photography majors, there must be a reason. Either he was a homebody who rarely showed his face, or others had spotted him too — and were deliberately keeping him to themselves. "What's got you so lost in thought?" Quinn heard a chuckle beside her, prompting her to turn and face the vice president of the student council. She rolled her eyes in response. "Is your proposal for the upcoming festival finally ready? You've been procrastinating for the past three weeks. We don't have all year to wait for you. I have my graduation exhibit to work on as well, which will require a lot of time, in case you've forgotten," Quinn sarcastically remarked, a smirk playing on her lips. The vice president chuckled yet again, shaking his head. Their playful banter was a regular occurrence, often annoying those around them in the student council. "Don't worry, Miss President. It's completely and absolutely ready, and you're going to love it in today's meeting," he replied, winking and mimicking a finger g*n. He sure was confident in winning hearts with his presentation. "Thanks for the heads up, Trustin. I'll be rejecting your proposal anyway," Quinn retorted, feigning indifference. Trustin placed a hand over his heart, pretending to be wounded by her words, like the dramatic piece of art he was. "You can reject any of my proposals in meetings, unless I—confess," Trustin mumbled under his breath, his voice barely audible to anyone else. Blushing, he attempted to hide his face from Quinn. "Are you cursing at me right now and making it painfully obvious?" Quinn asked, her expression revolted. Hearing that, Trustin burst into laughter, shaking his head. "I didn't curse. I was merely saying that lately you seem to be on a power trip, don't you think?" he teased, earning a nonchalant smirk from Quinn. "So? Feeling jealous?" she playfully jabbed back, but Trustin chortled and shook his head, returning his attention to his files and reviewing the materials he had prepared. One of these days, he was going to get caught while mumbling his feelings. "Trustin— Can I trust him enough to ask him?" Quinn wondered, considering that Trustin was one of the few individuals with whom she could engage in conversations unrelated to photography and student council matters. "Oh, my God! That rhyme was so bad," she blurted out, catching Trustin's attention. He wondered why he was fond of her, even with her quirks, but then silently chuckled, realizing that he was just as peculiar as she was.
