Chapter Eight: The Escape

*Lily POV*

I quickly and quietly slipped out to the pack border. I had made up my mind, I refused to live like this any more.

"I, Lily Louise Kane, reject you, Alpha Daniel Jacob Thornhill, as my Alpha and mate. I renounce my title of Luna of Ash Moon pack. I reject Ash Moon pack as my pack and henceforth declare myself as a rogue." I said as I arrived at the pack border.

As I felt the connection breaking, I quickly took the potion the witch gave me to hide my scent. After I felt its effects I quickly ran, hearing a thunderous roar echo along the pack lands. I knew he felt what I had done so I knew I had to move quickly and hide before they found me and dragged me back. I ran to the hidden cave I had found 2 months ago, I had never returned since I found it so my scent would not linger here allowing it to be the perfect hiding spot.

I walked to the back of the cave thinking I would have to hide out here for a couple days before it would be safe enough to shift and run when I found a tunnel. I decided to follow the tunnel when I heard wolves close by. It felt like the tunnel went on for days but finally I came out onto a beach. I sniffed the air to see if I was on another pack's lands but I smelt nothing but the sweet salty air of the ocean. I was free, or at least as free as I could be until my former mate accepted my rejection, if ever. I kept walking until I found a small inn with a help wanted sign.

*One Week Later*

*Alpha Daniel POV*

I had searched for my property, my mate, for a week now. How dare she escape me and leave me like this. I had promised myself once I found her she would never leave my sights again. No, I would put her in chains and leash her to my hip so she could never stray again. I would punish her in a way she would never even dare to even think of leaving my side again. I was lost in thought about the ways I would punish my naughty mate, I didn't notice my beta walk in until he cleared his throat.

"Alpha, sorry to disturb you. We have searched for miles Sir, there is no trace of her. We can't smell her anywhere."

I growled out in anger and took off to the dungeons. I needed someone to punish.

*One Year Later*

I finally had come to accept that I would never find her. At this point I no longer cared, she did not deserve to be my mate after what she did. Although when I do find her she will be punished severely.

" I, Alpha Daniel Jacob Thornhill, of Ash Moon pack, reject you, Lily Louise Kane, as my mate and Luna." I said harshly, feeling the last fragments of our barely there bond break.

I barely noticed the pain of our broken bond. I turned around and picked up the whip. I dipped it into the bucket of wolfsbane and liquid silver. I watched the little omega in front of me shiver in fear.

"You will learn to respect your Alpha." I said to her as I started whipping her, imagining she was my naughty former mate.

Oh the things I will teach her when I find her. She will learn the wrongs of her ways. The omegas screams echoed around the room as she begged for my forgiveness. Soon, it will be that naughty little wolf.

*Lily POV*

I had settled into a simple life working at the inn. Soon after I escaped I found out I was pregnant. 7 months ago I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl. I named her Roselei Ember Knyght. I had also changed my last name to Knyght if anyone asked my name. She was a spitting image of me except her eyes, strangely she had orange eyes like liquid fire. I was going about my day making lunch for the guests at the inn while Roselei played nearby. Suddenly I felt the rest of the mate bond break as pain flooded my chest. I knew he finally accepted my rejection. I was finally truly free of him. My daughter giggled and I smiled knowing I had successfully kept her safe from her abusive father.

Later that night as I put Roselei to bed I got a fire message from the witch that helped me escape. I hadn’t heard from her since my escape and I assumed that was to protect us both. I laid Roselei in her bed and kissed her goodnight. I sat at the small desk I had in my small apartment in the inn and read the message.

We need to meet at once!

Soon as I was done reading the message burst into flames and a gust of wind sounded behind me. As I turned around the Witch stood in my living room. I was worried with her sudden arrival that we had been found and we would have to quickly escape again. I stood up and started making a list in my head of everything Roselei and I would need.

“Calm down. There is no need to panic.” The Witch said. “I have come to you to share a prophecy. I believe it concerns you and your daughter.”

“Prophecy? Why would there be a prophecy about me and my daughter??” Lily asked, confused. I was sure the witch was mistaken. “ There is nothing out of the ordinary about me or Roselei.”

The witch looked at me with a straight face. “Except for her eyes. Eyes like liquid fire if I’m not mistaken.”

The fact the witch knew Roselei’s eye color startled me. It was true that I had never seen or heard of a wolf with such strange eyes before. “ Okay tell me this prophecy.”

I watched the witch’s eyes glaze over. Then with an eerie voice she spoke,

“A time will come, a war will threaten to rage.

Only one can prevent or lead the war.

When the wolf as evil and dark of heart as his fur is black,

Mates with the wolf as pure as the lily for which she is named,

A child shall emerge as powerful as the inferno of their eyes.”

After she was done speaking her eyes turned back to normal. “I shall leave you to think over this prophecy. But I shall return soon. If your child is as powerful as this prophecy says you are going to need my help.”

With another gust of wind the witch was gone.
