How had she found him”, had the message he had written not been so invisible as he had thought or had she put a tracking device on him without realizing. He was pacing wondering if he should open his door or not wondering why he hadn't heard her knock. He heard a knock, now, low, almost inaudible. “I am in front of your room door, I have been knocking for this past 1 hour now,” “ Is it the file making you hide from me?” she added “Which room door Mom?”he asked, holding his breath, hoping it wasn't the room he was in sweating and feeling his chest tightening. “Your room in the house”, “Or do you have two rooms?”. He breathed a sigh of relief, trying hard for her not to hear him, going to the door to check who was knocking, seeing no one. Maybe he had imagined it or it could have been a room different from his, keeping her occupied by talking about different things he searched his phone apps, checking if there was any suspicious app that might be used in tracking him. And deleting everything he didn't find comfortable. Still keeping her occupied and being as quiet as he could, he silently headed to his car to make sure there was no tracking device there either. The receptionist stopped him for a moment, inquiring if he was leaving. After searching everywhere he could think of till he was satisfied, he told his Mom to give him some minutes, disconnecting the call and dismantling his phone to check if there was a device there. Satisfied, taking his time to assemble his phone back, hoping he hadn't ruined anything in his moment of panic, finishing the assembling and ensuring everything was working perfectly well, he redialed his Mom. “I am not home Mom”, he responded, preparing his mind for the tantrum he was certain she was going to throw. “Where are you?” “Why didn't you inform me that you were going somewhere” “Who are you with?”. The questions were endless and it kept coming in torrents. She didn't even give him space to answer any, which he felt was for the best, considering he didn't want to answer any. When he noticed she wasn't talking anymore, he finally spoke up, giving her the answer he was comfortable with. “I am somewhere Mom, and I am fine”. “I will be back by tomorrow”, “So don't worry about me”. “I am searching for your location and I am coming to pick you up right now”, she said, hoping to get him home that night. “Don't do that or we would have issues Mom”, “I will be back by tomorrow”. He said sternly, hoping that would deter her from her plans. He didn't know if there was a way she could still find out where he was despite having disconnected everything, but he wasn't ready to take chances. Mrs Victoria was taken back, shocked by his tone, wanting to say something but let it be “Alright Aiden”, I would be expecting you tomorrow”. She said, sighing softly, then ending the call. Aiden stared at his phone for a while, wondering if he had been too harsh, sighing and putting it aside. He needed to have done it, else she would have found his location and disrupt the last place he still felt he could get a bit of sanity and peace. He tossed his phone to the side, falling back on his darkly coloured sheets, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep. Tall green grass could be found around, the air shone of a beautiful magical colour, birds of different colours could be seen, woven materials floated above, gliding magically around. He ran, feeling the fresh air and breadth in his lungs, he felt at peace like he was finally where he needed to be. He tripped on a tiny creature, making him laugh out loud and hold the creature to himself, the creature loving the feel of his body and inching closer to him, snuggling deep within his bosom, like he hoped he could crawl into his skin and they could become one. He let the creature go, standing up and touching the magic that zipped past him with his fingers, closing his eyes once more, feeling the magic pulsate. He opened his eyes, noticing the air around him change, he looked around and figured he was no longer in the magical land, or he was fire. Fire was everywhere, everything was covered with smoke and mist, he ran, hoping to get away from the fire,he felt himself choking. His eyes finally landed on a bright light, he could feel himself escape from the scorching flames and smoke. “Help me”, “please help me”, “don't leave without me. He heard the voice like a tiny whisper, like someone in pain and agony. He stopped, looking at the bright light in the distance, contemplating ignoring the voice. He turned back to the flames, regretting his actions at once. The huge flames that had felt so far away were close now,and it had joined together to form something vile and evil. He felt the ground below his feet give way, he fell to the ground, seeing the vile creature hovering over him, choking him. He couldn't hear the voice that had been calling for help anymore, he closed his eyes waiting for the worse. Aiden sat up from his bed with a force he was certain would break the bed, sweat was falling in torrents from his face, some going into his eyes, he wiped the sweat off with his palm from his head, wondering what the dream he had just had meant. He felt his clothes sticking to his armpit and body due to the sweat that continued to gather on his body. He checked the time on his watch that still sat on his wrist groaning softly. He had hoped to have had a good sleep in this place, but here he was sweating loads, looking pale from fear. He was certain he wasn't going to be getting any sleep now.
