Aiden stared at the woman in front of him, wondering the best way to react to the face blocking his airway, counting to three he pushed her slightly.
He couldn't remember who she was, he didn't know what to say either, he couldn't even tell if they had done something before or if she was just trying her luck now
Watching her face turn from anger to sadness.
“I guess you meant it when you said just one night”, she said, sighing sadly.
I had really hoped you would change your mind, “ Stacia added, about to turn away and go back to what she had been doing, changing her mind at the last minute.
She didn't have much to do and she could spend the remaining part of the night talking with him, she hoped he wouldn't at least say no to that also.
“I have missed you, she said, turning to face Aiden once more.
“How about we go get a drink or two”, “I promise I wouldn't try to seduce you, " she smiled, winking at him and dragging him along.
Aiden stared at the woman in front of him, pulling him to probably the bar or somewhere, he had been so shocked at the kiss, she had gone further to shock him when she had taken the rejection without so much as a fit and had insisted she still wanted to have a drink.
He wished somehow he could remember who she was, now his head was clear and he had recovered from the shock, he was wondering if following her to have a drink was a good Idea.
What if she said something they had talked about earlier and he couldn't remember.
What if he met someone who knew him here and tried to start a conversation.
She seemed to notice his hesitation, because she turned to look at him, smiling, then turned to a section where nobody was in sight, leaving just the both of them
Aiden knew that at some point he was going to need to ask who she was, he was starting to feel uncomfortable with being around her for long, and he was skeptical that he had ever spent this much time with anyone in his secret hideout.
And he was certain there was no way that not one person wouldn't know him, though they might not be bothered about him and couldn't care less if he lost his memory or not, but he couldn't take chances.
They could be someone who wanted to see him fall.
Stacia was chatting away, talking about a lot of things at once, looking at him each time giving him a small smile.
She seemed like a fun person and someone he wouldn't mind spending time with, but the fact that he couldn't remember anything was making him skeptical, on edge and on guard.
She noticed his demeanor wondering why he was so on edge and acting totally different from how he had acted the first day they had spoken and the day she had started fantasizing about him. She had lied about the fact that they had actually done anything.
She had hoped it would eventually give her an opportunity with him
“Am I making you uncomfortable?” “Should I stop talking”, she asked after some minutes of her trying to get a reaction from him and getting none.
Had he realized she had lied or did he think she was low for kissing him like that.
She shoved the thought of him thinking she was cheap aside, there was no way he was going to think.
This place was for rich people, so there was no way he would think that.
Except…, she realized with horror on her face, except he thought she got her money from seducing young handsome rich men.
She clasped her mouth in shock, she didn't know if she should bring it up and assure him she wasn't like that.
Aiden looked as Stacia's face as it went from normal to stricken, then normal to stricken once more, he was left wondering what she was thinking, and almost laughed at the battle she might be having in her head.
“You are not disturbing me Um…, he didn't know what to call her, he was certain she hadn't mentioned it this few minutes they had been together”, “I just have a lot on my mind, deciding to answer without calling her name.
“Stacia”
“Pardon?”
“The name is Stacia”, you seem to have forgotten my name.
“You know what”, “I think I should leave”, “I feel like you are seeing me as a pest”, “Sorry for disturbing your evening Mr Lancroft”. Stacia added standing to leave.
Aiden stared at Stacia for a moment wondering if he should just let her go, he wanted that more than anything, he wanted to get to his room and rest his tired eyes.
But he didn't want someone seeing him as a terrible person.
Worse still, he didn't want to kill someone's happiness and change a person's character.
“No” “No”, “please don't go”, “Really sorry for forgetting your name, he said, pulling her back to sit on the chair.
Hoping he wasn't going to regret it.
Aiden sat on the bed in his room he had booked, it had been 5 minutes since they had said their goodbyes and he had made his way to his room at once.
She had continued chatting, sometimes waiting for him to contribute, but there was nothing he could really contribute.
As he had guessed she was fun to be around, she had even continued to flirt despite knowing it wasn't going to lead anywhere.
He loved her confidence and everything, but he just couldn't see himself falling in love with her, she was someone he would rather have as a friend. If he was being honest though, dating her wouldn't have been bad, but with what was going on his life, he was certain he didn't have space to date someone.
He thought for a while about the deal he had made with his parent, wondering if giving the idea of dating Stacia a chance was for the best. He shook his head killing the idea.
He wasn't even sure she saw him like that, she might have just been having fun, looking for something short and was not looking to be died down by a man.
Especially one who didn't even know who he was.
Standing up not feeling like sleeping, after he had thought sleep was the first thing he was going to do immediately he got to his room.
Turning on his phone, he saw he had 2 missed calls from his mom, and a third was entering.
He pressed the answer button putting it on speaker.
“I am standing in front of your door”. He heard his mother say sending shivers down his spine, feeling his head spin
