Chapter 5: Good Samaritan
Genesis Mikaelis
The guardian hound dog of Tartarus.
Cerberus was different from many of his siblings. Their dressing sense and lifestyle had always made Cerberus seem odd in their gatherings.
Cerberus was the most quiet of his siblings, I've met them all so I knew very well. He was always isolated, and had very little friends.
I suppose he was what you would say introverted, but study him, and search deep in those few words of his you'd realize he was the most demented of all of Hades brats.
Perhaps it came with being the guardian of Tartarus but Cerberus was off the rockers.
He even looked nothing like the rest of them.
He had blood red hair that stopped at the nape of his neck. High cheekbones with outlines under them that made it seem like he was literally chiseled into perfection.
Cerberus had light dust--bronze skin, almost looking tanned. Thick black curly lashes, that almost hooded his orange slit orbs that were viper--like, and firm red lips.
He was bigger than the rest of his siblings and even his father, and maintained a healthy diet of dark and gothic clothing.
Like at the moment he was wearing a tight black long-sleeved jumpsuit with a turtle--neck. A black round pin earring pierced on the lobe of his right ear, and two other pin earrings pierced under his eyebrows but not to close to his eyelids.
Granted the jumpsuit he was wearing was the uniform I instructed my closest warriors to wear, but he didn't actually have to.
I know Ethat would much rather gouge his eyes out than wear the uniform.
The guards immediately opened the Hall doors at my presence.
There was already chattering noises amongst my City Council. A few turned to me as I strode in.
The chattering slowly died as I made my way towards my throne even though I hadn't really wanted what next to do after my encounter with Zelos to be a meeting with a bunch of traitors and sniveling old timers who are soon to see death.
I situated myself on my throne with an expectant look on my face. "Well will someone go on and tell what's got all your panties in a twist?" I waved my hand at them expectant of a quick answer.
One of the council elders, Julius cleared his throat, "My Queen for the past few days now word has gotten out of the request letter from Dauntless." He said, and I shifted on my sit.
My tongue swiped along my fangs as I asked, "Who called this meeting?"
Oscar perked up. "I did." He answered.
"Of course you did," I said aiming to steer away from the irritated thoughts crossing my mind.
My lips parted to release a small sigh. "So you all have heard of the letter I received from Eurydice just three days ago?" There was need for a reply before I continued.
"What exactly is this meeting about?" I asked, looking around all of them.
"The fact that we know you are yet to make a decision whilst Eurydice and the little troupe she has left are being hounded." Oscar announced.
I ignored the undermine underneath his words just like I did before and rested the side of my face on my palm with my elbow on the edge of the throne.
"Is that so?" I asked making sure the sound of how dismissive I was towards this meeting was clear.
"Lord Zelos's men are scavenging Big city six, Exodus and Fallen City." Julius quipped.
Zelos's men were actually allowed into Fallen city? Zelos had more balls than I thought.
The neodrach at that hell hole would tear any god unfortunate to have balls bigger than the average Joe and bathe in their blood for stepping into their city.
Another councilman perked. "Loki's spies are everywhere in Jordyn, and every other little city looking for Lady Eurydice."
I maintained a nonchalant demeanor as they spoke. All the information delivered to me I'd already known, but I was still confused as to why they called a meeting for it.
"It is not unusual for a usurper to want to make the usurped bend the kneel to him. It's most likely the reason Loki and Zelos are seeking Eurydice," I said.
Or it could be they just wanted to kill her. I didn't care much for what they did to her, Dauntless was not Bright Summit's concern which is why I was still confused at to the topic of this meeting.
"Well My Queen are we to just going to let Dauntless suffer in the hands of Lord Zelos and Loki?" One councilman asked.
I let out an inaudible ah. "What would you have me do? What are our concerns with Dauntless?" I said with a slight shrug.
"Bright Summit has always been in dealings with Dauntless. Father always held Eurydice close to the heart of Bright Summit Genesis." I could see the hooded malice in Oscar's eyes.
He could fool others pretending this was a just about sense of duty but I knew better.
"Eurydice was father's w***e or more accurately Father was Eurydice's w***e. The only dealings they had was in the bedroom," I made sure the acid was dripping from my voice.
A crossed look contorted on Oscar's face but it faded as soon as it appeared. Fucker.
"My Queen what you said is um....Quite accurate but Bright Summit has been at Dauntless side, Bright Summit IS Seraphim people. Without our sense of duty and loyalty what are we?" Julius countered.
There was another meaning to Julius's words. He was subtlety throwing my originality at me. I had half the mind to call them hypocritical traitorous wretches.
An eyebrow arched in interest. "So you're asking me to play The Good Samaritan?" I asked with dry amusement.
"We're creatures of light if we can not hold up a something good by helping a natural ally of Bright Summit then we are no better than mere demons." Said one council member.
I huffed at that. "You want good deed Aulious? I gave an old man about to crook just today a golden coin," I muttered.
Ethat that was by my side rolled his eyes.
"YOUR Majesty this is not a light issue, Seraphims hold alliances dear to them." The voice of a council member rose.
A small dry laugh escaped me. Her words were dearing because it was another statement with a buried meaning.
It seemed they had all carried my differences on their tongue. Throwing the fact that I was a neutral and not a Seraphim to my face under a subtle tongue.
"Calm yourself Dez. My Queen what she is meaning to say is that it is not in our nature to abandon old friends of Bright Summit." Julius cancelled the dearing council member out.
Julius was pretty old, and was smart enough to understand my way of mind. AS much as he can, but it didn't change the fact that just like the rest of them if he could he would cut my heart out.
"You all are very stupid." Cerberus voiced out from my other side.
My lips twitched at his comment and I struggled to contain my amused self as Oscar spoke, "What did you say greek mutt?"
I released my pursed lips and stepped in. "It is true. You all ARE stupid. Opening the doors of Bright Summit to Eurydice would be like letting down our pants and showing our c***s off to her, and I don't know about the rest of you but I don't want to put my c**k in a situation like that" I stated honestly.
The was a short silence that Ethat broke, "You don't have a c**k" He whispered to me.
"Díreach! That means there will never be an instance that I'll show my c**k off to that Titan whose blessed power is whoring around"
Oscar opened his mouth obviously about to speak but I cut him off. "Eurydice is the Paragon of love for the Elementos, she is a descendant of Aphrodite and eye of APHRODITE. I will not risk exposing even a bit of Bright Summit's discretions to Olympus"
Julius perked. "But your majesty if I may--" I rose my hand up to instantly s**t him up.
"--No you may not. I am Bright Summit's Queen and all of it's discretion has remained out of Olympus' radius for centuries. I will not risk having an Eye of Olympus in MY home because Eurydice used to be Raaven's b***h in bed" It was the end of it.
No one dared speak as I got off my throne and headed to leave the room.
Ethat and Cerberus both by my side, following my pace.
"Are you sure abandoning Eurydice is the best objective?" Cerberus asked as we strode down the hall.
I cut my eyes at him. "Of course it is. Zelos and Loki are up-to no good. I spoke to him just now, something is stirring in the Underworld and we will not be apart of what is to come" I told.
"But what if we are already? What if attacking Dauntless won't be the end of what they have planned? Shouldn't we be helping Eurydice before they find her and quite possibly kill her?" Ethat asked.
"Zelos and Loki aren't looking to kill Eurydice" Cerberus said gruffly.
I turned to him. "What else would they want with her? They already have Dauntless"
"Have you stopped to think it's Seg's gift to Eurydice they want"
I froze on spot. Oh f**k!
"Seanathair" I breathed out.
(Grandfather)
My eyelashes fluttered as if to clear the the shock that overwhelmed me, "Find Eurydice and set up a meeting with her"
