Chapter 4: Hollow Temple
Genesis Mikaelis
The skies were swirling magenta. A deep coloring of it was the skies as I approached the stairs.
The Temple was ruined. The pillars were ruined, bulldozed out of their proper construction.
The dried leaves from the oregano tree close by filled the concrete floors of the Temple.
You'd think nobody had been to such a Temple for long, but surprisingly there was a man on the third case of the concrete stair.
The old haggard man were in brown tartars. Grey strands bombarded his blonde hair, the man was hunched expectedly for a man looking that old.
Wrinkles shrinking the skin close to his eyes, and neck. Black mascara was drawn below his big blue eyes.
And I also took notice to the black ink tattoo circled around his neck.
A flagan of ale by his side as the old man sang his song loomed in a rich Irish accent.
It didn't sound like that one that hinted in my voice or the one from my city.
I took a pause to observe him. His eyes came up at me that watched the wretch with curiousity and a slight obscene amusement.
"What're doin' around here young lady?" He had a very thick Irish accent in his words as he spoke.
"What do people do when they come to Temples?" I said, watching as he put the ale sack in his mouth.
"Comin' around here to pray aye? Nobody been around here in awhile" He said, after swallowing the mouthful of ale in his mouth.
I c****d my head to the side. "You're not from around here old man?" It was more of an observation than an actual question.
He shook his head. "And what the f**k is it to you little girl?" My eyebrows knotted.
"....People don f*****g com' here..... This place is peaceful....The shits for gods are always absent here... " He said, seeming to be breaking his sentences as he trailed off.
It was strange seeing this old timer in such an isolated Temple. He was mortal and most mortal chose to stay away from this Temple.
The old man carried a certain fury in his blue eyes that had me the slightest bit intrigued.
The aura loomed around him was black, and I was rest assured where Charon would be taking him on a joy ride to when he died.
I reached out for the coin in the inner pocket of my jacket, throwing it up people catching it inbetween my fingers.
I crouched down a bit and placed the golden coin with the seraphim symbol on it.
The old man stared at me confused. I simply patted his shoulder and drew close to his face, feeling his breath that reeked of cheap shitty alcohol, "Drink and be merry old timer, Tartarus will leave you a sniffling whelp."
He was in a daze when I forgo him and strode into the ruined Temple.
There were horrid creatures in Tartarus would do well to douse the fire in his eyes. The cycle of mortal life, I thought as I entered the Temple.
The old man was right. Nobody had been here in awhile.
More like eons if you ask me. The humongous statures of the underworld gods were half ruined.
The one of Hades which stood tall amongst the other statures was ruined. A gigantic trident in his hand, and his concrete face bristled with a certain fire I knew he resonated with. Hades head was bulldozed off the rest of his body, then there was another stature of another creature that wouldn't appreciate having a symbol of him close to Hades.
Furiad. His stature had a snake wrapped around his body to his hand. The snake bit into his concrete wrist as his moulded face looked fierce and looking straight ahead. His stature was not as ruined as Hades. It was just a hand and half his face that was missing.
It was odd seeing his stature amongst the other Undeeworld gods. He wasn't exactly one, but then again this Temple was eons old and I suppose things were different back then.
A dark presence wafted in the once light air. It was heavy and loomed around the Temple that held no presence before than that of the dwindling aura of an old man.
A small window charged, whipping my short hair back.
"Zelos." I breathed out as I turned to an unwanted figure.
The inky black haired man stood before me with a challenged expression. His inky curly haired were loose on the nape of his neck.
His smooth olive skin glinting under the kiss of the sun. Zelos had a squared jaw, thick black eyebrows matching his eyelashes, straight aristocratic nose, and a plump puckered bleeding red lips.
Thick mascara lines were drawn below his magenta glowing eyes, and black piercings were on the tip of his ear, and a bit below his lower lip.
Zelos' physiques matched Hades. He was big but not what you would say ridiculously buff as he wore a black turtleneck long sleeve, leather pants, and combat boots.
Zelos was another god that was insanely hot, and one could say their hotness matched their madness.
"What are you doing here Genesis?" Zelos asked with a voice mixed with different accent, and my lips pursed and c****d down in a slight shrug.
"I thought this Temple was open for everybody?" I stated more than asked.
"I never thought in many centuries that I would see you step foot in a Temple like this. Already missing daddykinks?" I grimaced at the low remark, and he smirked.
"I thought you've spent enough centuries kissing Hades ass to know his not my father, or were you too busy sucking what was his name....That's right Fiown's c**k to get your facts straight." Now I smirked knowing I pushed a button as his expression went grim.
"Don't take his name Genesis," He said, with irritation.
My mouth formed an inaudible ah. "So the rumors are true. You're actually f*****g a pesky mortal or let me correct myself letting a mortal f**k you since I know you're not really packing Zelos."
Zelos flushed with but anger and embarrassment at my words that weren't quite accurate.
What I said about his c**k wasn't true or maybe it was true but I just said it to him to piss him off right back.
"What the f**k what would make you come here Genesis?" He dismissed my previous statement to ask.
I slowly strode along the damaged floors of the Temple as I replied, "I needed to have one or two words with one of Hades children."
"Preferably Hades," Zelos said, I nodded curtly.
"Preferably Hades." I agreed.
"What made you think he might answer? You would've had a much better chance at standing on his go f**k youself welcome mat." He snorted.
I rolled my eyes. "Hades hasn't been spending much of his time at the underworld has he?" Zelos didn't answer.
My eyebrows furrowed. "So the rumors are true?" I didn't know why I asked the question when I already knew the answer.
Zelos snorted. "How do f**k do you catch these rumors. You run a brothel or something?" I deadpanned at his little humor.
A seraphim Queen, running a brothel. What was so humorous about that?
"Hades is god of the Underworld Zelos, when he is not doing his job people talk, imagine if your ass went on leave. We'd have to deal with a peasant f*****g their bosses wife and the man doing nothing about it but living with blue balls."
I jumped on the half ruined wall. There was nothing to lean on as all that was left of the wall was half the concrete.
Zelos deadpanned. "What?" He said obviously not quite catching my point.
I blew out a quiet groan. "The rate of jammed souls along Styx and Acheron is unnerving and you and that Ex Norse god attacked Dauntless without having Hades foot stomping on your heads, isn't it obvious that something isn't quite right...." I trailed off.
Zelos was quiet watching me. "Things hasn't been the same since Persephone left." He said rather quietly.
"And you took whatever s**t is stirring in the underworld to your advantage and attacked Dauntless" I accused his solemn figure.
He shot a glare at me. "I didn't think you of all people would give a s**t about what I did to Dauntless" He said withholding his glare.
I huffed at his statement. "That's because I don't give a s**t about most things that don't concern me, but you want to know what concerns me?" I asked going on to answer without letting him speak.
"....Pissing off that council of old farts, and soon Olympus will hear of your latent escapades" I finished in an accusing tone.
He stared at me with a totally challenged look. "I don't see how it affects you" Was all he said to irritate me.
"Of course you don't god of envy. Because you're too stupid and blinded by whatever the f**k is your agenda here to see it. I can't have Olympus nosing around in the activities of the Council because it will lead their eyes to Bright Summit--" I jumped off the stacked concrete blocks I was sitting on.
"I don't see how it concerns Bright Summit--"
"--I can't have Olympus watching Bright Summit. Not everything I do to run my Kingdom and protect it's worshippers goes with Zeus's precious little rules Zelos" I quipped quite acidly.
Zelos motioned forward, standing very close to me. If he attempted to move further he would be standing on my toes. His hot breath were already fanning my skin.
"And you're sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Eurydice sent a request to enter Bright Summit. Raaven has always been quite smitten with her" A familiar malice dances in his glowing magenta as he said in an intimidating tone.
My jaw clenched at that. I could feel inside of me knotting, and my heart thrumming and burning with anger.
I wanted to knee his nuts, crack his jaw with the power of my fist, bash his head on Hades stature or maybe yell I will gut out your innards and feed them to you then bathe in the rain that will be your blood you f*****g c**k sucker!!
But alas I glared daggers at him. "I couldn't careless about that b***h in constant heat, but I will make sure that YOU are the one to deal with whatever aftermath your decision will reek"
My wings bursted out of my my shoulder blades.
"Tell Daeneris to easy on my little old friend over there in Tartarus. I quite like him" I said, before taking off to the skies thinking: No good will be coming soon.
