Chapter 8: Red is the devil's color Cerberus Bao arranged the candles in the trail of a circle whilst I head on to open the doors for the invited guest. The sight of Eurydice and the rest of her followers greeted me as I opened the doors to the VIP room. Booming sounds of music echoed from the other part of the club. Who I have deduced to be Eurydice's right-hand man walked side by side with her as the entered the room. The servant-fae and most likely pet-shifter followed. They were easy to spot. The longing to be close to it's owner that danced in his eyes made it easy to spot that the dark haired shifter was a pet. "Welcome Eurydice. I was beginning to think you didn't get Bao's message" I said as they found themselves a seating position. Eurydice turned her gaze to me. "Your little message said Genesis would be here, where is she?" Eurydice asked, and I tucked both my hands behind my back. My eyes descended on Bao still preparing the necessities for Genesis arrival. "You should know by now of Genesis character of being fashionably late, and besides she's to arrive at a fashion that will not irk suspicion amongst those seeking you" I replied. Eurydice shifted her gaze to Bao then she asked, "You're going to use a jump spell?" I nodded in response before voicing out my thoughts, "Exactly." My eyes shifted to the pet shifter that settled himself on the ground. I smelt something familiar about him, and I knew it was most likely the smell of the hound in him-- He was a wolf shifter. I'd seen many before but he had a curious look in his eyes as he browsed out his surroundings. Pet shifters usually focused their sole attention to their owners but like before in Bao's w***e house he sought to decipher what rose fascination in his eyes. Perhaps it was the hound in me that was irked by another hound-- Whether he was a pet didn't change he was a quite powerful one. Maybe one from Exodus city or most likely a demon hound. That would be interesting. Eurydice must place the pet shifter in some pedestal to have him so physically taken care of. See his black dreadlocks with brown roots until the knot and braiding point. See how long the thing was kept that it stopped pass his prominent jaw to his ribs. How neat and beautified it was kept that the side dreads were tied back. He had a pair of the most faint autumn irises and onxy black pupils, the darkest I'd ever seen and it matched his hair, only those black pupils were slightly dilated with an ever faint prussian blue, hooded under his thin curly black eyelashes. I could honestly say he had a fairly big figure. He seemed quiet snug in the brown pants he wore and the black long sleeved jacket only, with his lightly haired tail with the sharpest of ends sticking out. I was curious as to what type of hound he was, and I can only hope knowing Genesis well that everyone would benefit from this meeting and no one would leave the slightest bit unscathed. Everyone who knew Genesis knew that even if it was lightly when her anger was piqued she would blow an fuse. The earliest times of Ethat's presence at the seraphim castle he once said 'The tales of the anger of Genesis Mikaelis was legendary' I pulled out of my train of thoughts with the snap of Bao's fingers and the abrupt lit of fires on the candles. "Foringis" Bao muttered with the snap of her fingers. "A witch" The pet shifter muttered in an airy voice, claiming my attention once again to his wide eyes. Like a dear caught on headlights he stared at me for the briefest of seconds before he quickly turned away from me to lower his gaze. It was the most daring of things I could say but f**k he didn't even feel like he was a submissive. The question popped in my head at my thought-- 'How old was he?'. His age would explain the vibes he was resonating with, but he couldn't be older than 85. Pets weren't allowed to live further than that for the reasons he simply exuded. Bao stretched her hands and her chants began. "Etheresay ke irke kraa imperetus de amenapour" The flame turned to blue at the command of the magic, and as Bao's chants flowed the flames turned from blue to black flames. Black shadows crept from the heat of the black flames to twist and knot at the middle of the circle. The shadows grew into a bigger twister and a figure began to surface in it. At the end of Bao's chanting the shadows disperse and the flames died, leaving a familiar figure at the middle of the circle. 'Red was the devil's color'. Clad in a red leather jumpsuit Genesis frame stood in the middle of the circle. Her leather jumpsuit was a turtleneck long sleeve that allowed every erotic curve of her body out on display. Two pairs scottish skindos were strapped to her thighs. She kept her hair an even side-parted short style and as much as she never discuss it she kept similar hairstyles like that to conceal the cursed ink on her face. I could spot the black bags underneath her eyes and could tell she got them from her lack of sleep. Her gloved hands wounded through her hair as she breathed out, "Black magic?" An eyebrow arched. "Most discomforting." She said nonchalantly. Neodrachs really didn't having any understanding between black magic and white magic, except Genesis of course. "The quickest way to get you here" Was what I said that got her to roll her eyes. She turned her gaze to Bao and allowed a smirk to crawl up her face. "Oh my Bao. It has been quite awhile since we last saw," She chirped. Bao's eyebrows furrowed till they touched. "My queen we have never met in person." Bao said, and Genesis ignored. Her smirk contorted into a vile one. Malice and mischief swirled around her eyes as she set them on Eurydice. "Goodness Eurydice" Eurydice didn't have the chance the speak as Genesis continued. "Good to see that you at least have the crystal on glamour" Her index finger briefly pointed at the dangling crystal around Eurydice's neck. I hadn't noticed it was on glamour because I saw right through the enchantment spell but Seraphims had the ability to instantly sense magic and it's use. "You know," Was all Eurydice replied with as she glanced down her crystal. Genesis sat on one of the lounge couch and nodded curtly. "Oh yes. I had the feeling that Zelos had some shifty plan with you than just killing you or making you bend the knee but it took Cerberus actually pointing it out for me to realize" Eurydice turned to me. "The guard mutt was actually the one to figure it out. No one else will see it" I growled at her statement. "This guard mutt is the reason you have this meeting" I gritted out. "So tell me Eurydice I sure do hope that your reason for requesting an invite to Bright Summit is not because you have no means of protection for that crystal?" It was a question than an obvious observation. Eurydice huffed. "I should'nt have to be searching for a means to protect this crystal. It was a gift from grandfather Seg" Eurydice stated and Genesis rolled her eyes. "By the gods Eurydice you sound like a harping little whelp. It was a gift blah blah blah and guess what so was Dauntless. No one gives to f**k about what belongs to you they take what they want" Genesis said in a humorous baritone. Eurydice c****d her head to the side. "And what would you have me do Genesis? You are my only means to protect this crystal" The mischievous expression on Genesis face faltered only for a split second but with the flicker of her lashes she withheld her previous expression. Having actually spent so long with my Hades no doubt Genesis was the mistress of masks. "Tell me you're shitting me b***h. You dare even consider that I'd help you hide that crystal. This meeting was called for because I needed to know that the crystal was still in you possession and nothing more" Genesis reprimanded with the previous mischief and humor in her voice faltering this time. "Queen Genesis....Would you give your protection in exchange of something of worth?" A voice quipped and I snapped my neck to Eurydice's right-hand man. A crossed look passed Genesis face. "Who the f**k is this one?" Genesis asked obviously not impressed with the presence of Eurydice's right-hand man. "My right-hand man...Kian" Eurydice answered, glancing at her right-hand man. Genesis rose an eyebrow as an interested look passed her face. "And what exactly do you think your Mistress could have that'll be of worth to me" Genesis asked with bemusement leaking from her tone. "I've thought this through Genesis. I have a plan and something to offer in exchange for your aid" Eurydice said in all seriousness. A smirk tugged on Genesis lips as she asked, "Annd what exactly is that?" Eurydice took a moment to purse giving Genesis the time to burst into a short laughter. "You don't have anything of worth do you? Do only valuable thing you own was your city and this crystal" Genesis stated in a mocking tone. Eurydice shook her head. "No. There is something else I could offer......." Eurydice trailed off and Genesis looked down at her with interest. "....My wings"
