The night wasn’t over.
And neither was Elara.
“Miss Vance,” a man approached, slightly nervous. “The board is asking for confirmation.”
Elara didn’t even look at him.
“Tell them,” she said calmly, swirling the wine in her glass, “it’s already done.”
Across the room, Kael’s eyes narrowed.
Done?
What did she mean?
Before he could move—
A loud voice cut through the hall.
“Attention, everyone.”
All eyes turned to the stage.
A screen lit up behind it.
And then—
Gasps.
Shock.
Whispers exploded across the room.
“That company—”
“It’s Montenegro’s biggest partner—”
“No… it can’t be…”
Kael’s expression hardened as the name appeared on the screen.
VANCE HOLDINGS
Now the majority owner.
Silence dropped like a blade.
Elara finally turned to face him fully.
“I told you,” she said, her voice calm but deadly, “I’d take everything.”
Kael didn’t react immediately.
But his grip on the glass tightened.
“Impressive,” he said after a moment. “But one company won’t bring us down.”
Elara smiled faintly.
“You still think this is just one move?”
That’s when it hit him.
This wasn’t revenge.
This was strategy.
“You’ve been planning this,” Kael said.
“For five years,” Elara answered.
Every deal.
Every connection.
Every step.
All leading to this.
“You lost everything in one night,” Kael said slowly.
Elara’s eyes darkened.
“And you’re about to lose everything the same way.”
