CHAPTER 2

"What now!" I asked in annoyance as I answered the call.

"You forgot something."

"What are you talking about?"

"You are late!"

"Late?"

"Yes. You only have 30 minutes to prepare."

"Huh?" I blurted out, still half asleep.

"I bet you are still in bed." she said with a laugh.

I frowned and checked the time on my phone.

6:59 am

6..

5..

9..

Sheyt!

I bolted upright in bed and stared at the clock on the wall.

I rubbed my eyes and widened them, hoping I was just seeing things, but I wasn't.

It really was 6:59 am. A.M!

I hung up the call without saying goodbye to her and rushed into the bathroom to take a quick shower.

Argh!

Late again.

I’m definitely going to get an absolute lecture for this. Tsk.

When I finished, I quickly put on my uniform, dried my hair, slung my bag over my shoulder, and ran down the stairs.

I almost fell, but luckily I managed to hold on the railings.

Haysttt... So clumsy.

"Oh sweetie, you're already awake. Breakfast is ready."

I ran into Mom who was about to go up the stairs. I think she was heading to my room to knock on my door.

I just shook my head at Mom before approaching her and kissing her cheek.

"I will just eat at school, Mom. I am late."

"Huh? I thought you did not have classes today, which was why you did not wake up early."

"I forgot to set my alarm, Mi. That's why I overslept...

"I have to go po. Bye!" I added and hurried out of the house.

I did not hear what Mom said after that because I was already running outside. I quickly went to my car parked in the garage and sped off toward school.

I looked at my watch and drove even faster. 10 minutes before class.

I will definitely make it.

I quickly parked the car and ran inside the school upon arriving.

The other students I passed were staring at me with their confused face.

I don't care what they thought of me, the important thing is that I would not be late for our first subject.

I already got detention yesterday. No way am I getting another one.

I looked up at the stairs panting.

Fvck, who even invented stairs?

I took a deep breath before running up the steps. With every stride, I skipped a step to make the walk faster.

I held my knees and looked at our classroom door while gasping for air.

Hoooohhh! Tiring!

I fixed my posture and opened it after catching my breath. The classroom, which was noisy just a second ago, suddenly went dead silent when I opened the door.

I rolled my eyes when someone looked me up and down, from head to toe.

Tsk. Is this their first time seeing a beautiful girl? A Goddess? Tshh..

It was a good thing Ms. P was not there yet because I would have been scolded again if she caught me being late again on her class.

I fixed myself up because I was feeling so sticky with sweat.

"Oh? How many rats chased you this time?" Eiysha asked with a laugh. She sat next to me.

"Shut up."

She just laughed and ignored me.

It was a good thing she called me because otherwise I would have been absent for our first subject. Ms. P is extremely strict when it comes to attendance.

I had not even been seated for five minutes when our strict teacher arrived. My classmates sat up properly and went silent.

"Ms. Villiana, take your seat properly, unless you want to end up in the detention room again."

Our Philosophy teacher suddenly called me out when she saw me slouching in my seat. I sat like that because I was comfortable, yet she had to stop me.

She just walked in and I was already the first person she noticed. How annoying!

I adjusted my posture and just looked out the window. It was getting dark, it looked like it was about to rain.

Ms. P slammed her pointer stick loudly against the board, making me look at the front instantly.

"Listen, Understand, and?"

"Gain knowledge, Ms." we said in unison.

"Good. And now, I want you to LISTEN to me, and not wander your eyes outside the window." Ms. P said, intentionally glaring right at me when she mentioned the window. She was definitely targeting me, she even put emphasis on it.

Some classmates turned around to look at me because they followed Ms. P's gaze, but i don't mind. I don't care at all.

Except for the girl next to me who was holding back her laughter. She's dead meat later.. Tskk.

"Class dismissed."

My classmates immediately cheered when teacher left and they rushed to get out first, while I just stayed in my seat and watched them with a bored expression.

I plopped my face down on my armchair desk.

I did not want to go out. I was feeling too lazy.

I was also really sleepy. I felt like I could collapse at any moment because of how tired I was.

My stomach was hungry too, but my laziness and tired body were not cooperating, so I decided to eat later. Also my feet still hurt a bit from the punishment yesterday.

Ms. P literally made me an assistant for all the faculty members in the room where her office is located. I was running left and right yesterday.

Before I could even recover from being tired, someone else would order me around. It went on continuously for five hours. I did have a breaktime, but it was not enough to recover from the exhaustion I felt.

That is why I am still so incredibly tired until now. Plus, I am lacking sleep.

I even got blisters on my feet because of what happened yesterday. Tsk.

But thankfully they are not that big. I am wearing rubber shoes today so I can walk properly despite the blisters.

"Are you not going out?"

I looked at the person asking me and immediately shook my head at her.

"Not right now, I am feeling too lazy." I said and pressed my face against the desk.

"You are so lazy! Anyway, just come with me to teacher's office."

I wrinkled my forehead at what she said.

What is she going to do there?

When she noticed I was confused, she explained that teacher called for her and had something important to say.

"I don't want to. You are old enough, you can go alone."

"Please, come with me." she whined, dragging out her words, so I covered my ears in annoyance.

"Just go. Leave me alone! Shoooo!" I said, trying to drive her away, but the i***t wont leave me alone!

"Please! Pretty please! You know that Ma'am Divine is really scary. I can't go there alone. She might breathe fire on me." she whispered the last part.

"I don't care!"

"Come on! Please!"

"I DONT WANT TO!"

Scowling, I walked down the hallway while Eiysha clung to me like a lizard. The i***t had a victorious smile on her face. She actually succeeded in making me go with her.

"Stop smiling. You look like a fool."

"Ouch, that hurts!" she said and suddenly remove my hand away, but she immediately clung back to my arm, making me roll my eyes.

"By the way, what food do you want?" she suddenly asked, catching my attention.

"You already know." I said with a smirk, making her grimace.

The condition for coming with her was that she would treat me with foods. Nowadays, nothing is free, so you have to be resourceful, especially when it comes to food.

"Why not just say it? Pshh!" I heard her whisper, but I just ignored it. I was not in the mood to talk, especially since I was severely lacking sleep.

When we reached the front of teacher's office door, she went inside reluctantly while I stayed outside.

She tried to force me to go inside with her, but I refused. No matter how hard she pulled, I did not budge, so she had no choice but to go in alone.

I will just wait for her out here instead of staring at the things inside. Besides, I do not really like the atmosphere inside. It is really suffocating.

I just watched the students passing by and observed their every move.

I held back a laugh when a girl suddenly faceplanted because a guy avoided her attempted hug.

I looked away and started whistling when the guy suddenly looked in my direction. He might get mad because I laughed at the girl.

The door suddenly opened and Eiysha came out with a huge smile on her face.

"KYAAAAAHHHH!!" she suddenly screamed while jumping up and down.

"Crazy" I commented softly, which earned me a harsh glare from her.

"I am a very beautiful crazy person!" she said, rolling her eyes and even flipping her hair.

"Are you possessed again, jumping around and screaming like that?" I asked with a smirk.

She hit me hard and pinched my side, making me groan and slap her hand away from me.

I stepped back a bit and glared at her while rubbing the spot she pinched.

That really hurt.

I think her fingernails dug into my skin.

"What is your problem?" I said in annoyance.

"Youuuu! You love to tease me." she said, looking annoyed as well.

"Who?"

"Who asked? Please! I already know that line!" she said to me, putting her hands on her hips.

"I am asking who is the demon that possessed you to make you act like a worm sprinkled with salt." I said with a smirk, which made her jaw drop.

Her mouth opened as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out.

I immediately puffed up my cheeks and blew a gust of air right into her open mouth. Her eyes widened and she started coughing, making me laugh out loud.

The i***t's reaction was hilarious!

"You are disgusting!" she screamed in a high pitched voice, making me cover my ears. This girl must have a megaphone inside her. It really hurt my ears.

She spat on the ground a few times before facing me and pointing a finger at me, so I raised both hands as if surrendering, though I was still laughing.

"Your spit flew into my mouth. Disgusting!" she said, looking like she was about to cry while her finger was still pointed at me.

"It is still fresh though." I said while laughing.

She glared at me and took a step closer, making me back away.

"Fresh from the sewer!"

"Y-you! Argh!"

I ran fast when she suddenly tried to grab me, so now she was chasing after me.

"WHEN I CATCH YOU, I WILL TURN YOU INTO DRIED FISH!"

"As iF YOU CAN CATCH ME!" I shouted back and ran even faster.
