For a few seconds, none of us moved.
The note was still in my hand.
She came back with them.
I read it again.
And again.
Maya finally spoke.
“Who's she?”
“I don't know.”
Ethan looked at the folder.
“Maybe the missing student was a girl.”
I shook my head.
“There were already two girls.”
Maya frowned.
“Then why would someone write she?”
“I don't know.”
That was becoming my least favorite sentence.
I folded the paper and slipped it into my notebook.
“We need to find the original report.”
Ethan stared at me.
“That thing literally says restricted.”
“Exactly.”
Maya looked between us.
“I hate that I know where this is going.”
I smiled.
“You're coming?”
She sighed.
“Obviously.”
