My father lived by a singular, ruthless code: The Rule of Three. He had made a wager with the Senior Board of the green Industries a year ago. He had already lost two.
The first was a massive antitrust suit in London. The second was a corporate case in New York. If he lost this third one; the Sterling-Vane custody battle against Ayla Cullen, the wager was close to being over. He’d be stripped of his title, his wealth, and the legacy he valued more than his own blood. But if he won? He would be granted permanent, untouchable control over the firm’s global assets.
And I was the weapon he was using to win that bet.
