CHAPTER 34

1530 Words
It's been two weeks since Berna was rushed to the hospital and had a miscarriage. She couldn't accept what happened to her baby. She lied to Henry when she said she aborted it. She wanted him back, but he pushed her that made her fall to the ground and got miscarriage. She kept on following Henry and his new girlfriend. They go out almost everyday. A surge of pain and anger enveloped her heart. She can't accept it. She went to a fortune teller to seek advice. The old woman told her that her ex-boyfriend will never go back to her. She felt rage and got furious. She asked for a ritual to take revenge and make sure no other girls will have Henry. The old woman gave her a booklet, a black handkerchief and two black candles. "Make sure to do this exactly at midnight," the woman instructed. She nodded. She paid and left the place of the fortune teller. ☆☆☆ "Love, where do you want to eat?" Henry held the left hand of Andrea, his new girlfriend. "Hmm... just in an eat-all-you-can restaurant so you can be full." "Okay," Henry said. He drove fast towards the nearest mall. It took them an hour to reach their destination. "Come on. Here we are." He stopped the car in the parking space on the upper level. They headed to his favorite restaurant. The two of them were having fun while eating when Henry noticed someone standing by his side. He looked up and it was Berna. "Well, well, well!" She raised an eyebrow as Andrea looked at her. "Didn't you miss me?" "That will never happen, Berna," Henry replied firmly. "So fast?" Berna crossed her arms. She will not give in to the man who hurt her and killed her child. "We're over, Berna," he said with conviction. "Stop following me." "You will pay for everything you did, Henry. Mark my words!" She confronted Andrea. "You won now, girl, but you will have the same fate like me." Andrea was grabbing the table cloth, probably holding back her anger because they were in a public place. Henry held her hand. "Berna, stop us. Can't you find your new man and leave me alone?" "Yes, Berna, you leave ua alone. You're just making a fuss. You're already an ex-girlfriend. You're making a scene here. Look around." Andrea pointed to the other diners in the restaurant. There are only a few customers but they are all looking at them. "You are ashamed of them but not to me, aren't you?!" Her eyes glazed over at Andrea and Henry. Henry called the guard. "I think you need a professional help. You're scary." The two guards of the restaurant approached. "Please let her out, she's bothering us." The two guards held Berna but she struggled. "Let go of me! Henry, remember this. You will pay for what you did to me and our future child! Remember that! And you, woman." She pointed at Andrea. "That guy will only make you pregnant and then throw you on the street!" The guards took Berna out of the restaurant. "That woman is really scary. She's obsessed with you." Andrea couldn't believe it. "It's too bad for her to make a story!" "Let's eat again. We still have to go back to school." Henry sat down again and began to eat. "Henry, I'm afraid she can do more." Andrea's face showed fear of Berna. "Maybe she's just doing this to snatch you from me and get back to her." "Don't worry, Babe. That won't happen again." Henry assured her. He kissed her on her forehead to make her feel better. They have resumed eating. They no longer paid attention to other customers who were looking at them. After lunch, they immediately returned to school for their afternoon class. They are both Business Management but different year level. Henry took Andrea to his house after their class. "See you tomorrow, Babe," Andrea said goodbye before she entered their house. Henry went straight home. The car was about to enter their courtyard when he heard a horn. He spotted a black car parked not far from their house. "I think I was followed earlier. Was that Berna?" He parked the car in the garage and told their gardener to close the gate securely because he has a stalker. "If you can't be with me, no other girls will have you." Berna punched the steering wheel with her fist so the horn rang. She was confused so she immediately drove the car away from Henry's mansion. She first went straight to the bar to cool off a bit and drown in alcohol. She was angry with the world because Henry immediately dumped her for someone else and she had a miscarriage because of what he did to her. Some men pay attention to her but she ignored them. Henry is everything to her. She had a few shots of tequila and the live band has already done a few songs on stage. She is also a bit bored because the singer's voice is not that good. She checked her wrist watch. It's eleven o'clock in the evening! She needs to go home! She went straight to their house after the bar hopping. House, yes, because she doesn't think of their house as home. They are not happy. Her step father's having a mistress and her Mom's addicted in casino. Her older brother Julius is addicted in illegal drugs and she is addicted with Henry. They have their own lives. The only one who cares for her is her granny. "Berna, it's already almost midnight. Where have you been?" Her Mommy's comment to her. "What are you wearing? I can see your groin!" Her Mommy was dressed and carrying a suitcase, she was about to leave their house. She glanced at her shorts she was wearing. "There's nothing wrong with my outfit, 'Ma," I replied coldly to her. "Whatever. I''m leaving first, you take care of everything here. My friends and I will go to Monaco." She was smiling like a lottery winner. "Whatever, Mom!" She hurried up the stairs going to the room. She will go to Monaco for gambling? So annoying! Whatever! I have something more important to prioritize. She closed the bedroom door and locked it to make sure that their maids or her grandmother would not disturb her. She had to do the prayer of revenge. She searched for the black cloth that the old woman had given to her, and told her to put on any belongings of the man she wanted to take revenge. I can't see the black fabric! She searched the whole room but there was nothing! She checked her wrist watch. It's almost twelve o'clock! It can't be! No! I wasted time, money and effort just for this! She rummaged in the cabinet to look for a black hankie. "I found one! There are darevevil designs but maybe this is possible." She turned off the room light and just used the lampshade. She laid the handkerchief on the floor, lit two black candles and placed them on both ends of the handkerchief. She grabbed the picture of Henry in her bag and put it on the handkerchief then she sat in front of it. She took the prayer for oration out of her shorts' pocket. She read what was written on it. "It's too many!" She can't do anything but to follow what was written on it. It is good that the old woman gave her a copy of these prayers because she doesn't memorize them. She read the following instruction. Mention the following 3 times over and over: "Icobus imatrimonus in nomine patri and filio et espiriti sancti, Henry Galvez. Heed to the words I say, your heart and soul will take my wrath. My sorrow will not put you to sleep. No one will have you in this world, and we will be together until death with our child! You will not be able to sleep all the time. You will pay for the loss of our child. I will sacrifice my life just for you to suffer!" The candle was extinguished and the room became hot. She had a goosebump because of the strange feeling she just felt. She looked over the handkerchief with the picture of Henry. A black smoke came out of it and formed a shadow of a demon! She could clearly see its horns. Her eyes widened and she backed away in fear! "Your wishes will be granted." A big voice came out of the smoke, it slowly approached Berna. "Don't! Don't come near! Stay away from me!" Her eyes widened in fear. The black smoke entered her mouth. "I can't breathe!" M-Mom, Mom, h-help...." She wanted to shout but no voice was coming out of her mouth. She grabbed her neck because she could not breathe. She feels someone is choking her. "M-Mom..." Her eyes were blurring and she was dizzy. She did not know what happened next because darkness was slowly engulfing her.
