The bend was blind, so Miles reacted too late, pulling down hard on the steering wheel, giving the other vehicle a glancing blow on the wing, but smashing his light in the process. An angry truck driver, shaking his fist, red faced and agitated, came striding over to them as Miles sat staring through the windscreen wondering what had happened. Sinclair got out and ducked the man's wild swing, the blow striking fresh air. He hit the man in the solar plexus, dropping him like a stone, walked around the front of the dinted hire car and, tugging hard, managed to prise open the driver's door.
