Frenemies

Shay I turn on my heels and walked back to my friends without taking another look at Silas. I can feel their eyes burning a hole through my back, I must have hit a nerve. Silas ignored both Tiffany and Samantha most of the time, what was different today? If he’s messing with one of them, they would have said something by now. If anybody knows what’s going on, it’s Sincere. “Sin, can I talk to you for a minute?” “Duh.” He exaggerates. “In private.” I put my hand on my hip. “Ooh...” Chrissy and JJ said in unison. “Oh, shut up!” I wave my hand at them. “Let’s go to the kitchen.” Sin steps off the table. “Thank you.” I say as I follow him into the house. We stop in front of the sink where we can see them out the back window. Sincere leans on the island. “What’s up? Are you okay?” He asks crossing his arms over his chest. “Yes, I’m fine. This isn’t about me.” I look out the window one more time before focusing my attention on Sincere. “Did something happen between Silas and Samantha?” “Not that I know of, why?” “What about Tiffany?” “Nah, What’s this about?” Sincere did something with his camera before unstrapping it from his hand and placing it on the counter. “Samantha is planning on kissing him in front of Emily and Tiffany has been acting weird since y’all got here.” I explain. “Wow, I doubt if anything happened between any of them, but I take it you don’t want them to hook up.” He looks at me sideways. “Sincere, he has a girlfriend.” I tilt my head mimicking him. “What does that got to do with you? Shay, you didn’t know he had a girl until today.” “So, what difference does that make? Emily deserves better.” “What happened between y’all? You gave him your v card?” Sin poked his lips out like a duck and raised his brows. I assume seeing the effect his statement had on me. Of all things, why assume that? “No, she’s not that exciting. Why is my relationship your topic of discussion?” Silas voiced out making me jump and turn around to face him. I obviously didn’t hear Silas come into the house and hearing his voice scared the s**t out of me. The last thing I wanted was for him to know I was asking Sincere about him. “Why is this important?” He tilts his head in confusion. “It’s not.” I quickly answered. “What was that about, outside?” He gestured towards the door. “I said everything I had to say, out there, in front of both of you.” “You sure about that?” Silas can see right through me. “If y’all fight I’m getting it all on camera.” Sin smiles. “I wouldn’t waste my energy. And you shouldn’t waste your film.” I push by Silas and walk outside with everyone else. I know Sincere is probably going to tell him what we talked about. Depending on how he’s feeling about the situation. I went to sit next to Emily at the table and apologize for talking to her in an alarming tone. She was looking down and picking at her nails while Sam watched her occasionally. Tiffany was playing double dutch with Tiana and Chrissy, they paid Emily no mind. “Hey” “Oh, hi” She looked like she could cry at any moment. “I’m sorry for yelling at you a minute ago.” “It’s cool, I see what you mean.” She looked at the rest of the girls then back down at her nails. “I’m cool with Sam, but I’m not cool with what she’s doing.” “She wants me to believe that her and Silas are a thing. But I know my boyfriend and he’s not a cheater.” As the words left her mouth, Silas came out of the house and Samantha begin walking towards him. I wanted to tell Emily what she was going to do but my mouth wouldn’t open. Instead, I watched and waited, just like Emily. I figured she couldn’t kiss him if he didn’t let her but who’s to say he doesn’t want to kiss her. Samantha stood in front of Silas; I could tell she was talking but I couldn’t hear what she was saying. She put her hands on both of his forearms and stood on her tiptoes. Silas looked up causing her lips to slide off his chin as he backed up away from her. “Are you happy now?” Emily shouted across the yard to Samantha, who was standing there with bloody red cheeks and her lips squeezed together. Relief washed over me when he avoided her kiss. He starts walking towards Emily and myself, I feel my cheeks heating up. With that I stand up, dusted off my skirt and face Emily. “Thanks for warning me about her.” She says lightly. “No problem, I’ll be back.” Before I could move, I felt his arms wrap around me. He locked his hands around my chest, pinning my arms down to my sides. I looked down at the grass and tried to think about anything that wouldn’t make me blush. He pressed his chest up against my back when he spoke and laid his head on my shoulder so he could look at me. “Thank you for putting yourself in my business and for giving me a heads up about your goofy friend.” Silas said loud enough for both Emily and I to hear him. Also confirming Sin told him what I said. “You already knew how she was before I said anything.” Silas slid his hands down to my hips and turned me around to face him. Only to wrap his arms around me again, this time around my waist. He intertwines his fingers together behind my back. I think it’s innocent, but I can’t help but feel some type of way since our last moment. I’m positive it was normal for him, but it was my first time feeling like that. I didn’t know what to expect and now I feel weird around him. Yet here I am, in his arms, in front of his girlfriend. “She never pulled a stunt like that before. Point is, I’m sorry for not listening to you.” He explains, scanning my eyes. “Okay.” I nod my head, felling awkward in his hold. Silas let go of me and used one hand to ruffle his fingers over my hair, messing up my ponytail. He sat with Emily, and they started talking about who knows what. I walked away before I could hear anything. Emily eventually came to jump rope with us, and we laughed and talked about Samantha embarrassing herself. Tiffany seemed to be okay with Emily ever since Sam left. Maybe it was only Sam the whole time and I was wrong about Tiff. “My mom is here; I have to go.” Emily says sadly. “Shay, can you do me a favor?” Silas asks. “No” “It’s okay, I’ll come up with something.” Emily says defeated. “Shay, please?” Silas begs. “What is it?” I sigh. “Walk her to the front as if she were here to hang out with you.” “Wow! You’ve got to be kidding me.” I shake my head. “Don’t be like that.” He gives me a look. “What would you have done if I wasn’t here.” I cross my arms. “It’s okay Shay, I don’t want to bother you.” Emily says pulling Silas arm. “Shay…” Silas looks at me pouting. “Ugh stop ugly! Come on Emily.” Chrissy and I walked with Emily to her mom’s car. On our way around the house, she bought up the Basement party that’s coming up and how she wanted to surprise Silas there. I didn’t say I would help her but when we got to the car I started talking about a fake sleepover around the time of the party, reminding her to ask her mom. When she got in the car, I heard her mother say she’d think about it. I like Emily as a person, and I know I really need to get off of this Silas phase because nothing good will come out of it. He doesn’t see me like that, and he has a girlfriend. Thinking about him as anything other than a friend is unrealistic. “Thanks, big heads.” Silas messes up our hair walking by us. “You’re welcome” Chrissy laughs. “Y’all staying over here?” “No, Ms. Tisha is coming to get us” “Who?” “My mom” I tell him. “What does she call her?” Sin asks joining us on the front step. “Ms. Tisha, what do you call her?” Chrissy asks, half smiling. “Ma” Silas says sitting on a chair on the porch. “Why?” “She’s like a second mom”. He shrugs. “Well, I call her Hot Mama.” Sincere wiggles his brows. “That’s why she doesn’t like you.” Chrissy laughs. “She’s my Wife, she loves me.” “Eww” Chrissy and I shudder before she walks away. “When are you coming back?” Silas asks me. “Probably Wednesday.” I guess, not too sure. “Ight, don’t bring your goofy friends back over here.” “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” I roll my eyes knowing I have no control of Samantha and Tiffany. “Why, you want to see her naked again?” Sin smirks devilishly. “Nothing happened Sin don’t assume.” I tell him with attitude. “You’re lying Shay, I heard you.” He points at me and squints. “What did you hear? Because it wasn’t me.” I crossed my arms over my chest. “Sy, did y’all hook up in my room?” Sin looked at Silas. “We did not.” Silas answered plainly. “I know what I heard, what did you do?” Sin waited for an answer. “Nothing in seven minutes.” With that Silas stood up and went in the house. Sin looked at me, but I just shrugged my shoulders. Sin sucked his teeth and went inside, leaving me on the porch to reminisce about the night he is referring to. “Shay truth or dare?” Chrissy asks. “Dare” A evil look appeared on Chrissy’s face. “I dare you to give Silas a full strip tease.” I gasp and start shaking my head. “Just Silas, you don’t have to strip in front of the whole room; and you can keep on underwear.” Chrissy continues. “How will we know she did it?” JJ asks. “We’ll know.” Sin looks at me then Silas with a glint in his eyes. “Seven minutes starts when the door closes Shay, Get naked.” Sin winks gesturing to his bedroom door. Silas stands and walks over to the door waiting on everyone to leave. He locks the door behind them then sits in Sins computer chair holding his finger in front of his lips. “I’ll pick the song and you’ll strip.” He says in a clear tone so they could hear him outside the door. Silas played a slow song then rolled over to the bed where I sat. He pulled me up and sat me on his lap. “I know you don’t want to strip so you don’t have to.” He whispers. “Sincere and Chrissy will know.” I tell him already knowing my face might give us away. Silas thinks for a minute before he starts grinding his hips under me. “What are you doing?” I laugh unintentionally. “Dance with me, I’ll switch the song this one is almost over.” He plays a Pretty Ricky song, and we start dancing together. He ends up back in the chair letting me dance on him. He shifts me to sit with his knee between my legs and stops me from lifting myself up. He puts his hands on my bare skin lifting my shirt slightly as I grind on his leg. A tingling sensation occurs causing me to stop. He picks me up and lays me on the bed, on my back. He rubs his knee between my legs while rocking to the song. I close my eyes when I start getting dizzy and squeal a little from the feeling. I feel like my body is vibrating when I release a breath, I didn’t know I was holding. When I open my eyes, Silas is looking right at me. He pecks me on the lips then fixes my shirt before getting up and sitting me in the chair. “Are you okay?” He asks me while leaning down to look me in my eyes. I nod yes then he backs up towards the door and unlock it. Sin opens it as soon as the lock clicks. “That was over seven minutes!” Chrissy yelled, walking back in. “Did you strip?” Chrissy looks at my red face with a cheesy grin. “What else did you do?” She pushed. “The dear, it’s my turn now.” I say getting my composure. “Wait! Silas where is her birthmark and what is it?” Chrissy asks and I hope Silas knows it. “It’s a diamond on her back.” He says calmly, as Chrissy grins at us. “Correct, What color is her n****e?” She smirks. “Chrissy!” I yell at her; she wouldn’t even know the answer. “Brown, like chocolate kisses.” Silas answers unfazed by Chrissy’s antics. “But her bra never came off per your rules.” He adds causing me to blush and try to remember when he saw my n*****s. “Then how do you know?” JJ asks, grinning at Silas. I look at him secretly wanting to know the answer myself. Instead, Silas shrugs and looks at me. “Isn’t it your turn?” He says. I clear my throat and continue the game. Later that night, Chrissy slept in Sincere’s room and JJ in Sions since the living room was freezing. I sat on Sins bed not wanting the movie we were watching to end. Silas has never touched me like that before, what if he tries again in his room. Does this mean he’s my boyfriend now? Is it because I fought Misty for him? I started to get a headache thinking about all of this and got up to leave the room. I stood in the bathroom for a while before telling my mom my period came so she would come get me on her way home. Luckily, I caught her before she left her job and she agreed to pick me up. I went back to Sins room after calling her, but the movie was over. “What’s wrong with you?” Sion looks me over. “I’m not feeling well, my mom is on her way to get me.” I say getting a funny look from Chrissy. “Girly things.” I add getting an understanding look from her instead. Silas looks at me casually and I feel like the truth is written on my forehead for him to read. “Come here.” He finally says before walking into his room. Everyone goes to their destination and Sin cracks his door when we leave. Silas does the same before sitting on his bed. “Are you okay?” “Yeah, I just have a headache.” I say honestly. “What are you scared of?” He looks at me curiously. I watch his eyes scan over my body before looking me in my eyes again. How do I tell him I’m scared of liking what he does to me?
