Almost lost control

595 Words
Bryce's POV We stood outside her door, the tension between us palpable. "Would you like to come in?" Laura asked, her eyes sparkling. I hesitated, knowing I shouldn't. But I couldn't resist. As I entered, her scent enveloped me, driving my desire. She smelled like Spring, like flowers when they're just starting to bloom. This is the smell that got me out of the car last night. We stood in the living room, inches apart. "Laura," I whispered, struggling to contain the beast within. My hands clenched into fists, I fought the urge to touch her. I must leave, before I lose control. "I'm sorry," I growled, turning to go. But Laura's voice stopped me. "Bryce, wait." I froze, my heart pounding. Don't touch me, I begged silently. Her hand brushed mine, sending shivers down my spine. My vision began to blur, my senses overwhelm. I was on the edge. Laura's hand wrapped around mine, her touch sending electric shocks through my body. "Bryce, don't go," she whispered, her eyes locked on mine. I tried to pull away, but she held tight. "Laura, I'm not safe," I growled, my voice barely human. Her gaze never wavered. "I don't care." With a gentle tug, she drew me closer. My resolve crumbled. One kiss, I promised myself. Just one. Our lips met, and the world exploded. My control snapped. Laura's lips parted, inviting me deeper. Her tongue danced with mine, sparking a fire that threatened to consume me. I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close. Her body molded to mine, every curve fitting perfectly. My hands roamed, exploring the softness of her skin. Laura's fingers tangled in my hair, her touch sending shivers down my spine. Our kiss deepened, the world around us melting away. I felt the beast within me stirring, but for once, I didn't fight it. Laura's passion matched mine, her desire calling to the wildness within me. Suddenly, she broke away, gasping for air. "Bryce," she whispered, her eyes blazing with desire. "Yes?" I growled, my voice low and husky. Laura's smile was a siren's call. "I want you," she said, her words sending my pulse soaring. My eyes locked onto Laura's, his gaze burning with intensity. "I want you," she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. My instincts roared to life, the beast within me straining to break free. "Claim her," Lykon, my wolf said. I grasped for control, fighting the primal urge to claim her. Not like this, I said to Lykon, my mind racing. Not when I'm losing control. "Laura, wait," I growled, my voice low and rough. Her eyes sparkled with confusion. "What's wrong?" I stepped back, putting distance between us. "I don't want to hurt you," I admitted, my voice cracking. Laura's expression softened. "You won't," she said, her voice filled with conviction. But I knew better. The full moon was rising, and my control was slipping. I turned and fled, leaving Laura stunned and confused. As I burst out into the night air, I couldn't shake the image of Laura's trusting eyes. I'd almost lost control. Almost. My fists clenched, I pounded the pavement, putting distance between us. What was I thinking? I knew better than to get close. The full moon was rising, and my instincts were on a hair trigger. I couldn't trust myself. I stopped at the edge of the city, gazing up at the moon. Its light illuminated my shame. I'd come so close to surrendering to the beast. Laura deserved better. She deserved safety. Not a monster like me.
