Chapter 3: The Prince has children?!

POV Lina

            My father is just standing there frozen and the king’s face was unreadable. We just stood there looking at each other for a few minutes before my father had cleared his throat. “What do you mean you can’t stay? If you are my eldest child, you are my heir; the heir to this kingdom after I step down.” said my father. I link Carlos *Get ready to leave, we may be able to stay for a bit, but we will need to go get Jake and Sully. * He just nods and turns to look at the king and my dad. “I am not your heir. I am a Queen to the Shadow Kingdom at birth, not the Celestial Kingdom. Yes, I could take the title, but I have a twin brother who would be your heir. Which is also why we need to leave. We cannot leave them for much longer. If we do not leave soon, night will fall before we get back and even with our higher senses we wouldn’t be able to get back.” I say to both my father and the king. “We can stay here for a little after we get them and return but I will not be staying afterwards. My brother will be, and so would Death Note’s daughter Sully.”

            The king looks at me highly confused after I said that last part. “Why would her daughter be here as well? Shouldn’t she be at the Rosid Kingdom with her mother and father?” said the king. I sigh before saying, “Death Note and the Grim Reaper are both dead. They died before my mother had. And father, if you were there, you would be dead too. Death Note was r***d in front of her mate and then both were killed. If you were still with my mother, you would have faced the same fate as the Grim Reaper.” I begin to walk back towards Jack when the king stopped me, “Lina, you can stay and so can your friends. But would it be easier for you to have some guards with you when go get them? So, that you won’t be bothered by village folk and so that you can get them here easier.” I turn back and say, “I appreciate the offer but no, it would not be easier. We made it from the Shadow Kingdom all the way here on our own and on foot. No guards came with us, no one came except us. This was something we needed to do on our own. And that is what we did.

            “Carlos and I will go get Jacob and Sully. Then we will return. Night will have fallen by the time we have gotten back. If you want to come with father, you can. They will be able to sense you but bringing guards will cause them to think we had been captured.” I say with authority in my voice to show that I was being serious. The king nods and calls for some guards to guide us and my father out. As the guards arrive, they ask, “Not to be invasive, but who are these children and why are we having to guide them out? Did they break in?” My father steps in front of me and Carlos; and he looked mad. He looked at the four guards and says, “Do not question him! This is girl is my child and you are to guide us out so we can go and get my other child. Now, let us go!”

            They looked stunned and even though they were not going to question their prince, I could hear them mumbling, “His child?!”, “The prince has children?!” They begin to guide us out and I turn back slightly to wave and lightly bow to the king. He waves and bows back. Then I continue to follow the guards out. Once we get out to the grounds, guards and workers bow towards my dad and give me and Carlos questioning looks until they notice the symbol on hour trousers and jackets. Once we reach the gate, Jack, and Simon bow towards us. Jack looks at me and says, “Thank you for visiting, see you soon your highness!” I smile and look at him and nod. He nods back and so does Simon. All three of us walk out the gate and turn to watch the gate close. Afterwards, we begin to walk down the path closer to the cave.

            Once we are little ways away from the gates, my father stops and asks, “Lina, where are we going exactly? You never actually said where we were going or how far away we were to be traveling.” I think back to when we were talking and realize that he was right. I never did say where we were going or how far, just that if we did not leave soon night would fall. I say, “We are heading towards a cave close to a waterfall. That cave has both my brother Jacob and my best friend Sully. Carlos and I had told them to stay there and that we would continue. I said that we would be back at latest of night fall. I am one of my word father, like my mother.” After that I motion towards a small path, “This path will lead us to the waterfall, from there we will go to the cave and meet you out by the waterfall.”

            He just nods and we begin walking again. Once at the waterfall, my father says he will be by the rocks so he is visible when we come out we will see him. Carlos tells him we will not be long, and we start to walk off to the cave. Once we get there, we say, “Hey! Jake! Sully! We found our father. He is out by the waterfall waiting for us. We are going to go stay at his kingdom for a little while.” Jacob gets up and hugs both me and Carlos saying, ‘thank you!’ repeatedly. He goes and starts gathering his stuff while Carlos helps Sully with gathering her things. Once all our things are gathered, we begin to walk back towards the waterfall. There we see father by the rocks, just like he said he would be. I motion for Carlos to have Jake and Sully stop walking. After they stop, I walk over to our father.

            I tap his arm lightly and say, “We are back father.” He looks at me and then over to the others. “As you know, this is Carlos. The boy is my twin brother Jacob, and the girl is Death Note and the Grim Reaper’s daughter Sully. Come over and say ‘Hello’ if you want, but know, both Jacob and Sully are both a bit shy.” I say while pointing out each of them to him. I then motion for them to come over. Jacob was a bit nervous, but he spoke calmly, “Hello sir.” Sully just looked at him and then stepped behind Carlos and held onto his arm. James (my father), did not force them to talk but looked at them and said, “Hello Jacob and hello to you too Sully.” He then looks to me and says, “Are you all ready to start heading back to my kingdom?” I nod, and look to the others, “You ready?” We get some nods and start out journey back to our father’s kingdom.

            As we began to approach the gates, I wave at Jack and Simon. They wave back and prepare to open the gates. Simon then says, “Welcome back Prince James, and welcome back your highnesses to our wonderful kingdom!” I smile as my father pats him on the shoulder. We walk through and I could hear Sully and Jacob ‘awing’ at the grounds. I look at my father to see if he heard, and by the way he was smiling I could tell that he had heard them. I pat his arm and he looks at me and smiles. We continue to walk closer to the castle. As we get closer, guards open the doors for us. They bow towards us and nod at me and Carlos realizing who we are now. I nod back and smile to show that I am not upset with them for not knowing who we were. I admit, we did not expect them to know us in the first place without us telling them and giving them proof.

            We continue to walk inside and see the king there talking to some of the maids. He notices us and dismisses them away as he is walking towards us. Sully grabs onto my arm and stands behind Carlos and I. Jacob then stands next to Carlos but with his left leg behind Carlos so that he can run if he needs to. I put a hand up to tell him to stop coming closer. I look to Sully and nod telling her it is okay. Then I motion him to continue. He walks until he is a little ways away from us and says, “My apologies for startling you. I am King Rosthern, the king of this Kingdom and this as you know is Prince James, my son. You are all welcome here. I have a room prepared for you all as I had a feeling you would feel more comfortable together. If you do not mind, follow me and I will guide you there so you can bathe and rest.”

            He then waits for me to let him know that we will follow. I link Carlos to keep Sully close to him and to have Jake stand between me and him. He does that, and then I say, “Lead the way then, sire.” He nods and begins to lead us up to the next level and to our room. Our father stayed between us and the king since he could tell Jake and Sully were a little scared. As we get up, I could see some maids exiting a room and notion to the king that is ready. He nods and two leave and the other two wait by the door. As we approach, the maids bow and say, “Welcome.” In unison. The one with brown hair says, “It is a pleasure to meet you all. I am Lisa and this is Telle. We will be here to serve you and help with anything you could need.” I step up and extend my hand to which they both shake before I say, “Thank you miss Lisa and miss Telle. It is wonderful to meet you as well. I am Lina, this is Carlos, Jacob, and Sully. Thank you for your help and thank your so much for preparing this room.” I smile to them before stepping back closer to Carlos.

            They smile back and look towards the king, bow lightly, and begin to open the doors for us. The king says, “Thank you Lisa and Telle, you may go. Please be back in the morning to help them to the dinning hall for breakfast.” They nod and bow once more and bid us a good evening. I look to my father and the king and say, “Thank you both for this. Truly, I really appreciate this.” Jacob taps father’s arm and then says, “Sir, thank you for this. I may not talk much or be as brave as Lina, but I really appreciate this.” He then looks to the king and bows lightly, “Thank you sire as well. It is wonderful to meet you, I am Jacob or Jake if Lina had not already told you. “Motioning to Sully, “and this is Sully, a close friend, sister even.” Sully steps up and smiles. She bows and says, “Nice to meet you both.”

            The king smiles and says, “Thank you both for joining us. It is wonderful to meet you both. I do want to apologize but I will need to bid your farewell. I must be up at dawn, and I would like to rest before then. I will see you all at breakfast though. Lisa and Telle will be here tomorrow to retrieve you then. Good evening.” He then turns and walks down the hall to hi chamber. I turn to our father and say, “Thank you father, for everything. I would have loved to have my mum here, but I am glad I got to meet you. You must be tired after everything today. I am as well. I will see you tomorrow and I would like to speak with you tomorrow after our meal if you do not mind.” He smiles, places his hand on my shoulder and says, “Your mother would be proud, of all of you. I am tired and will be heading to my chamber as well. I would not mind speaking with you at all. I will see you all tomorrow. Good evening.” After, he motions us inside our chamber.

            We enter the chamber, Sully and Jake take one side and Carlos and I have the other. I close the door and wave goodbye to father. I then go back and tell Jake to go wash lightly and then have Sully wash as well. He goes and then comes to get Sully. Once they are back, I go and then does Carlos. Once back, Sully is already in bed and Jake is getting into bed. I light a small candle by each of the beds and then head to my own bed. I hug Carlos before climbing into bed. He soon follows. I was asleep for only an hour or so before I woke up in huge amounts of pain. I block mine and Jake’s bond in order not to wake him, but before I could block Carlos, he was already up and by my side. I look at him with pain visible in both our eyes, “I’m in heat.” He looks confused and says, “Heat? Doesn’t that only happen when you turn or find your mate?” I shake my head and say, “That’s only two times a Wolfblood goes through heat. The girls go through it once more. It helps us grow. This should last a few days. But- “He stops me and says,” I can help with the pain. I may not be your mate, but our bond and connection are strong enough since I am your Guardian.” I smile and hug him.

He then gets into bed with me and just sits there with me for the next few hours. It was not until we saw the sunrise that we had realized we were not going to get any sleep. I kept saying that he could sleep and that I would be okay, but he would not listen. He was determined to stay by my side. We stayed awake talking and around one hour later, we heard people outside talking. Unknown, “Are they really the children of the Prince? How would that even be possible?” Someone else then replies, “I don’t honestly know, but they are. Look at the girl with purple hair, her eyes are the same as the Prince and boy with blue hair has the Prince’s face. It is obvious that they are his children.” Unknown, “Yes, you are right. Let us go before we are late. Go tell Lisa and Telle that the meal is almost prepared.” “Yes, head mistress.” said the other.

We get up not long after and began to dress for the meal to come. After we had gotten dressed, we woke Jake and Sully up an got them ready as well. We waited for Lisa and Telle until we heard a light knock on the door. “Come in.” I respond. Lisa and Telle then come in and tell us our meal is ready. They had also informed us that the Prince and King were going to announce us today to the entire Kingdom. Jacob and Sully were nervous and so were Carlos and I, but we had to put on brave faces and go down to the dinning hall. Lisa and Telle lead us down and as we are getting close, the pain grows. Carlos stands as close as he can without making it obvious that something was wrong.

Lisa stops as Telle opens the doors and motions us in. Once in, they shut the doors behind us. I look around for my father and the king since I do not know where we are meant to go. Just as I was about to ask someone where we are meant to go, someone taps me on the shoulder and says, “Good morning, the Prince has requested that you children will sit up by him and the king. So, follow me please.” I turn to see a young man with a light crème colored suit on. I nod and say, “Lead the way then sire.” He then begins to lead us to the front of the table in the middle and says to be seated. I was about to ask when my father and the king would be here but before I could, someone was on the platform next to me. I turn to see my father with a smile on his face as he says, “Please be seated.” The king comes out not long after and has everyone else be seated. 

Everyone else at the table started talking and us still being children, it looked odd with us sitting so close to the royals and NOT talking. People kept looking at us and then whispering to the people next to them as if we could not see or hear them. Then again, we do look like normal humans. I would not be surprised if only the king, my father and a few of the workers knew we were not human. We did not know the rules here; in my kingdom, my mother would enter the hall after us, have everyone be seated and then everyone started eating. Here, I have not seen anyone eat anything, they are just talking. My father must have seen my confusion because he tapped my shoulder and said, “They are waiting until we make the announcement. Everyone was informed that we had an announcement to make.” I smile and nod at him and ask, “When do you intend to make the announcement father?”

He then stood up and said, “Right now.” He grabs his glass and a spoon and taps the spoon on the glass. Once done, everyone is looking at him waiting for him to speak. He sets his glass and spoon down and turns to face everyone and says, “Good morning everyone! Thank you all so much for joining us today. Today, I would like to announce something to you all.” He paused for a moment to take a deep breathe before continuing. “I would like to announce that I have two children. Twins to be exact. One girl and one boy.” As he is finishing his sentence, there is tons of gasps and looks of disbelief and confusion. He then motions to me and says, “Join me please.” I stand up and walk next to him and say, “Good morning everyone.”  They give me nods and some repeat the ‘good morning’ back. Me father then asks Jake to join us. He comes and stands next to me. He nods out to everyone and waves.

My father waits for everyone to resettle into their seats before continuing, “I would like you all to meet my eldest child, Lina and her twin brother Jacob.” He then motions for us to introduce ourselves. I step a bit and hold my head high before saying, “Hello everyone, my name is Lina Blaze, I am the current Queen of the Shadow Kingdom and the current Alpha of the Nightshade pack.” I step back and tap Jake to tell him its his turn. He lifts his gaze to be able to see everyone and says, “Hello, my name is Jacob Blaze, I am the current Alpha of the Moonlight pack, and Prince of the Shadow Kingdom.” He then lowers his gaze lightly and taps my arm without moving his gaze from this one man. I look at the man and see him staring right back at me and Jacob. I look to Carlos to see him holding onto Sully’s arm and looking at the man as well.

Carlos then links me, *Do you know this man? Or why he is staring so intently at you two? * I reply with a ‘no’ and then look back at the man to see that he is still staring at us. My father then motions us to sit back down and we do. Then the king stands and says, “We also have another guest today, the apparent King of the Shadow Kingdom.” He looks at me and nods knowing it is a fake. The man who was staring at us stands and says, “Yes your highness, I am the king of the Shadow Kingdom. I have never met these children before let alone have one as my Queen.” The king then walks over to me and says, “Would you mind joining me for a moment?” I shake my head and stand. We walk over to his seat and he says, “Sir, the price for lying is time in prison, but for impersonating a royal, is death. Everyone, please observe the proof that this child, even so young, is the rightful Queen of the Shadow Kingdom!”

He then motions me to stand on the chair to which I do. I look out to the crowd and lift the side of my shirt to show my tattoo. The same one that matched my mother’s and say, “Sir, lying and trying to take my title is one hell of a crime. If this were the Shadow Kingdom, you would not be standing here right now. You would have been dead already. But, this is not my kingdom, this is King Rosthern’s kingdom. It is his choice what is done to you.” Everyone then bows to me knowing I am the rightful ruler. I then walk over to the man and say, “What made you believe you could impersonate another? Did you really think that they would believe you?” I then motion Carlos and he throws me my sword. I spin on my heel and knock him down to his knees. I hold the sword on the side of his face and say, “I am not who my mother was. I would kill you rather than put you in a cell.”

He lowers his head in submission and says, “I am sorry your highness, ‘he’ had forced me to.” He then looks back at me and continues, “Yes, that one miss. You know who it was and all I ask is that you free my people. We are from this world, but ‘he’ had taken us all hostage and is forcing us to do things since we are wolves. Please, help us.” I look at him and see that he is not lying. My father stands and says, “Guards, take this man to the dungeon!” I step in between the guards and the man and say, “No! This man belongs to me. What he says is true and for those of you who know what I am, you know I am speaking the truth!” I then grab the man’s hand and pull him to his feet.  

I look at him and say, “Follow me.” With that, Carlos, Jake, and Sully begin to follow me as well. I ask the guards to take all four of them up to our chamber and wait there with them until I arrive. I turn to look at my father and say, “You said we could talk, do you mind if we have that talk now?” He shakes his head and says, “No, I do not mind. Let us go.” He begins walking to me and then guides he to his office. There we sit down and prepare to talk as some maids bring us some tea.

“So, Lina, who was that man and who was he talking about?” said my father. I look out the window and take a sip of tea. “Well, father, I do not know him myself, but I know his kind and his people. And the man he was speaking of is the reason my kingdom is in danger and lost 80,000 people in two days...” I say this while shaking and trying to remain calm. Before he can reply, guards burst through the door.
