"You're nothing but a backstabbing b***h and I don't ever want to see you close to my family ever again." Emily said, throwing my clothes at me. Her anger was valid, after all, I was the one who had slept with her older father and gotten pregnant for him, but she was my best friend. My world had ended when I saw her standing there, looking at me with nothing but disgust in her eyes. Eric had entered his car and zoomed off. There was nothing she could do about him anyway. He was known to have women flocking around him. "I'm really sorry Emily, I know what I did was wrong, and I'll pay for it. I don't want to lose you as my best friend, it's already lonely enough." I said, pleading with her, but my pleas seemed to infuriate her more. "You should have thought about that before opening your legs to sleep with my father. If this friendship meant anything to you, you should have taken yourself out of the room that night. I told you the kind of person my father was. I begged you not to fall for his charms, but what did you do? You went ahead to sleep with him and threw the evidence in my face. You're a very ugly person Lucy" she shouted, wiping her tears. "Em, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to, you're all I have now. Please don't throw me out, don't end this friendship, I beg you." I said, going on my knees for the second time today. She was indeed the only person I had. Coming back to this country with nothing but a heavy heart, she had held me close and nursed me back to the happy person I had been. "I really stood by you Lucy, now you've not just ruined our friendship but my family's reputation too. The videos of you talking about your pregnancy has circulated everywhere. No wonder every time I suggested an outing with my dad, you declined. You couldn't stand my dad's presence, the whole time you were spreading your legs everywhere. Was it money? You wanted to be my stepmom that badly? To enjoy everything I had? Take your slimy self out of my house. I don't want to be associated with you ever again." She had thrown the last of my items out of the house. I had nowhere to go. "Emily please, what can I do to make you see how sorry I am? I honestly didn't mean any of this to happen. You know I cherish this friendship more than anything." "Then remove that pregnancy, go to the media and tell them you lied. After that, take your whoring self out of this country and away from my family." She said before kicking my luggage out of her way. "You have 10 minutes to get your stuff out, or I'll be forced to call security." She added before banging the door on my face. I was slowly losing everything and slipping into a dark world. It was really hard to wrap my head around how my happy moments always seemed to be temporary. ~•~ "The video of a young girl outside S&M restaurant has been going round on the internet gaining a lot of attention. In the video, the said girl was seen on her knees begging Mr. Eric Morgan, The CEO of Morgan Group, who she claimed was the father of her child. Eric Morgan, who we all know as the resident bad boy, has released a statement stating that the said girl was an opportunist, trying to use his act of benevolence against him. The craziest part was this girl was his daughter’s best friend. The children of this generation." The reporter said scoffing. I turned off the TV. They obviously didn't know me. 4 hours after I left Emily's place, I had become an object of ridicule, from one blog to another with headlines that derailed from the truth. I had managed to walk down here after almost being blinded by my own tears. I used the money Eric threw at me to get a room at a motel. I'll be staying till I can figure out what to do with my life. My phone chimed; it was a message from my father. *Lucy, come home* A part of me felt happy, I needed to be close to my actual family even though they had been the reason I left. ~•~ "How can you say that man is the father of your child? Who doesn't know his history? Were you so happy to have a p***s between your legs that you didn't take out time to think?" My Stepmother shouted the moment I confirmed my pregnancy. "Maybe she wanted money, the man is even her best friend's dad. How shameful." My sister added. The whole time my dad had been quiet watching the altercation, he wasn't a man of many words, but I knew too well that even if he had a choice, it would be greatly influenced by his wife. "Can't you talk? You see the blogs and everybody carrying the news? You just rubbed our names in the dirt? Is that man not even way older than you?" My stepmother said, angrier than she had ever been. "I can't even walk around with people who know you asking if it's true, it's so embarrassing." My sister said, looking at me with disgust. I was already used to them. "Lucy, I'll ask you again, was that you in the video circulating online and are you really pregnant for that dog?" He asked, sitting up to look at me. "Yes Dad, I'm really sorry." I didn't see it coming, but I felt the pang of the slap on my left cheek, sending me falling from my seat to the tiled floor. I could see the shock on my stepmother and stepsister's faces, my father had crossed his limit because of me. "You are a disgrace, Lucy. After your mother's death, I did everything to make you happy, got married again to give you a mother and had your sister to keep you company, but you're always the first to bring disgrace home. If it's not been disrespectful to your new mum, you're either bullying your sister, now you come home, look me in the face and tell me that you're carrying a bastard of Eric Morgan. You're a disgrace." He shouted at me. "It would have even been better if he wanted the child, but he denied the pregnancy and called her an opportunist. One would think she is from a home that barely eats. You're just like the father of that child you're carrying; you both are dogs." My stepmother spat. My world was tumbling, I couldn't breathe, my eyes were heavy, but nothing was compared to how broken my heart was. I covered my stomach, in attempt to help my child from hearing these words. "I'm sorry." I kept saying, hoping someone would stop and ask my plans or how I was feeling. "Get out of my house. I don't want to see you here, ever again. From today, you cease to be my child." my father said subtly, but the words were heavier than they appeared. My father walked out on me, leaving me with my stepmother and sister, who were never kind with words. "I always knew you would turn out like your mother, you see a rich man and suddenly think the best way to trap him is pregnancy. Better leave before I call security on you." She said, pushing me down with her legs. "I'd leave now if I were you. You don't belong here anyways." My sister added before following her mum upstairs. As I grabbed the door handle, a mix of emotions swirled within me. Today's events had slammed the truth into my face: I was alone now. The weight of that realization threatened to crush me. I touched my tummy "You and me, little one," I whispered, a determined smile spreading across my face. "We'll face whatever comes next, together."
