The whole night everyone didn’t question further on the mates topic or what happened. Johanna had already told them the overview of what they had done. She said when I was ready and if I wanted to, I could tell them the more in depth version. She also promised she’d explain more on who I am and my supposed birthright. I also discovered their all witches, and so is the whole town.
Speaking of which Kasey is supposed to take me to see it today. I'm beyond excited to see everyone and everything. I’ve only met Johanna before and now I find out I’m in a town full of them. I was reassured that no witches her were involved with the wolves. She knew I’d ask if I was safe here or if I had to flee. Volva has been wanting to stay here a lot more since we found out.
“You ready girly.” Kasey as always was a big bundle of sunshine. I learned she got this trait from her mom, Sally. “Yes of course, you’ve kept me cooked up in this house.” Dramatically throwing my hand over my eyes, I sigh loudly. We let out uncontrollable giggles. She's become very close to me, I’m happy to have someone to learn on. “By mom, we’ll be back in a bit, I love you.” I could hear Sally scream an “I love you too,” from somewhere in the house.
We headed to her black jeep, honestly I was a little scared. The pack forbid me from being in any vehicles and driving. The whole way town we were surrounded by trees, this made Volva excited. We had a nice and open space for us to run and hunt. As if Kasey could sense my thoughts, “We have 50 acers of land surrounding the Inn, feel free to run around, just don’t hunt anything besides the deer. Make sure you bring back the hide though.” We agreed to these terms, it was simple enough.
The town came into view, it is absolutely beautiful. The streets were littered with townspeople shopping, and doing their daily lives. Most of them from what I could see had some kind of crystal necklaces. I also spotted a few bookstores, their at the top of my list to check out. I loved this town so much already. The townspeople all seemed lovely and their witches so they knew about my kind and could help me hide here.
She stopped outside of “ Winter Moon’s” the store looked to have herbs and some other things I didn't know of. “Mom was needing some more lavender and rosemary. Maybe we can find you something in here as well.” She started walking in, I’d love to see if there was anything for me. Upon walking in I was hit with a strong scent of incense, and immediately walked to a section of the store.
The section I was drawn to is the crystal section, Kasey was somewhere else in the store picking up the herbs. The black one, it calls to me. I’m not sure what its use is, but I know we need it. I agree Volva, I can always ask Johanna its use. Gently picking it up I followed Kaseys sent to find her speaking to a fortyish year old woman. “Ahh I see you found something after all. Do you know its use?” Kasey called over looking at the crystal gently laying in my hand.
“Yes, it calls to me and my wolf. I’m afraid we don’t know what it’s for.” I answered back dropping my head. I felt bad for not knowing much about these tools. “Well my darling it's for grounding and protection. Great for a wolf learning her powers.” This time the lady spoke with an understanding smile. I wonder how she knows, and what she meant by learning her powers. “I’m Esmeralda, Johanna’s sister. We have a lot to teach you little wolf. The necklace is an obsidian and consider it as a birthday present.”
Now I could see the resemblance between her and Johanna, the pair we’re almost as twins. I had so many questions to ask her as she facened the necklace. I could feel a strange calming as soon as it laid under my crescent necklace. “The effects are working, thats why your feeling calm.” This time Kasey replied with a knowing smile. These people are really understanding and make me feel so at home. I must repay them when I get the chance.
“Would you like to go to the bookstore? I noticed you seemed interested when we passed them.” At the mention of books, I instantly perked up. I beyond loved books, it’s the only hobby they allowed me to have. “Yes please, I love books.” I was cheesing at the thought of being able to get some books to read. “Let’s get going.” She giggled excitedly. Maybe she is a book nerd like me. We decided to walk to the bookstore instead of driving since it was only a block away, and on the way back we are going to stop at a cafe for lunch.
The store “Misty’s Wonders” is filled with any book you can think of. I giggled to Kasey and ran straight to the fiction section. Choosing the ClockWork Prince series, I met back up with Kasey. Her hands were piled full of magick book, and a few werewolf books. I wondered why she had them, but he quickly anwer. “These books are for you. They will help with everything you need to know and learn.” This was starting to get weird, everyone kept saying this. When will they tell me the truth and what they mean by the cryptic messages.
“Move mutt.” A red headed snobby looking girl snarled. I wasn’t even in her way, why was she being mean. On instinct I dropped my head and moved away, only to be jerked back. “Listen Sydney she’s not in your way and you best step down. We both know I’m stronger and no one will back you on being rude to her. You rudeness towards wolves needs to end.” Kasey not only took up for me, but threatened her own kind for me. She’s becoming more of a family or my idea of my idea of family. What has me confused is her hatred towards wolves.
After we paid for the books, we headed to the cafe. Inside it smelled of nutmeg and vanilla, so wonderful and inviting. I decided to break the ice and ask. “Why does she hate my kind?” She immediately stopped mid-drink, and looked at me. There must be a serious reason for her reacting like this. “Her parents were killed by rogues. It's always scared her and she hates them.” I felt grimm by the news, I could feel her pain. I lost my parents at a young age.
To give me something to do on the ten minute drive back to Sally’s, I looked through the book Kasey chose. One stood out Werewolves With Supernatural Powers and another The Lineage Of The Moon Goddess. I was confused as to why these books would help me, i had no powers and the goddess was one person. Trust in her Willona, they know what we are. Before I could even ask, she retreated to the back of my mind. Well she isn’t up for explaining today, I guess my questions have to be answered by my new family.
Kasey was shaking me, when I realized we were back. “I’m sorry, I spaced out again.” It was something I did often, and I really didn’t mean to. I felt like it’d make her angry, but she just looked down smiling. Kasey was a beyond understanding person and she i great to be around. She had to hold half of the stack of books so I could get out, we needed to rush inside. I was beyond excited to start reading and for the big discussion. There was a feeling inside me that knew I’d never be the same after this talk.
Johanna was in the living room setting up what looked like a big meeting, with a huge book on her lap. The book looked and smelled of importance, I guessed it is their family grimoire. I decided to just continue on to my room, I was antsy to start my reading. “Don’t read the book I picked until after the discussion. Otherwise you’ll be very confused and won’t understand it.” Kasey yelled from the kitchen. She went in there to deliver the herbs to her mom when we walked in. “Okay I won’t, I’ll be down in 30 minutes.” I called back.
I was half way through ClockWork Prince when Johanna called me to come down. I just then realized that instead of only thirty minutes I spent an hour reading. Swiftly making it down stairs, I’m met with Johanna, Esmeralda, Embrose, Sally, Joey and Kasey. They must all be here for the discussion. “This must be a serious chat, everyone seems so tense. It’s making be and Volva a bit worried.” This was honest, Volva was pacing in my head.
“Well what we’re going to tell you will change your entire world. So bare with us darling, and we’ll each help you.” Esmeralda spoke with such a certainty it eased the tension in me. My only response was a kind and honest smile. Joey was the second to speak, “I’ll help you with the elements, I’m an elemental witch.” Now I’m confused, why would he need to help me with powers. Unless, “ Am I half witch?” This wasn’t possible, but it was the only thing that remotely made sense. “No sweetie, you have magick yes, but your not a witch. Let's start with your lineage.” Johanna started with a laugh while pulling out the book from earlier.
“Okay so, your lineage is known as the goddesses daughters. Your mother is the current moon goddess, her mother before her and so on. You will take over when your daughter is 10 years old. You were supposed to be taught, but a few people died that shouldn’t have that day.” Johanna paused to see if I was following along. “So is that why I’m blamed for something, I don’t even know?” The look on their faces had answered my question.
“You were blamed for their Luna dying. You saved her, but used too much of your powers that you couldn’t save her. When you were found the Luna had passed and only you were with her. The beta decided you should take blame, even though it was him who led the rogues to her. Mom was there, but she wasn’t in time to save you from the abuse.” This was the first time Embrose had spoken. They were all grim looking at his words, I knew they were true, I felt it. “Is that why he rejected me, because he thinks I killed his mom?” Brokenhearted was an understatement, I was crushed to know the truth. “Enough of the sad talk, we will how him the truth.” Kasey was right. We will be strong and Elias will pay for the eight years of abuse caused by him.
“Okay, you have a lot of powers. To be precise you have all 6 magicks there is. Lucky for you each of us has one. Joey has the elements, Kasey can read minds and teleport, and Embrose here has spirit work. Sally is a nature witch, and Esmeralda has her crystals. Finally me, the white light is me, We will each teach you to control these.” As she was explaining, she got more and more excited. I’m happy I have them to help me with all of thi and to explain everything.
“This is beyond anything. Since I left I felt a shift in myself. Then when we were escaping the white light surrounded me. We became stronger and faster, literally put a whole state between me and them in a day.” As I spoke I felt myself become more proud and confident in myself. “First step is to mask your scent, we don’t want anyone suspecting your here. All the witche here know, and they know who you are.” Sally stepped up with a bottle of green liquid in her hand. It tasted bitter, but all that mattered is it worked.
“When do you guys wanna start with my lessons?” I’m beyond excited to learn all of these. Volva was prancing around like a little puppy. I’ve decided we will be staying here until we have mastered all our skills. “Easy now, we haven’t decided how we will work out everything as of right now. You will get individual lessons I can promise that.” Joey answered with a joyous laugh. I was beyond excited to work with him on the elements.
“We could work in a lesson from each of us throughout the day. That way you can master the skills together and possibly quicker. Does your wolf know how to activate any of your powers?” Johanna was peaking now, she seemed to kind of lead them. All of this sounds great, I’m excited. “I am happy to work with that plan actually. Volva has only activated the white power. As far as I know that’s the only thing so far.” While explaining, I could see how eager they were to know everything that happened with Volva and I. Then a thought came to mind, “Will I get to see my mom again?” Sally smiled at me happily, “That will happen.”
