Chapter 14 I reflexively flung my hands out in time to break my fall. That worked for a few seconds. Then my limbs felt so heavy that I gave up. My head slumped to the ground like a dumped sack of flour, the cold floorboards pressing into my skin. In the back of my mind, a voice told me, Not appropriate. Get up!
