"How's the Alpha?"
I asked, standing in the center of my father's chambers.
"Better. The knife wound is completely sealed. But he needs more bed rest and close monitoring."
I released a breath I hadn't realized I was holding in. With a curt nod, I dismissed the healer and was now alone with my father.
Looking at him now, I felt pity for him. A feeling I had never felt for anyone. I have never seen him like this before. Never even knew he was capable of falling asleep for this long.
He was the man I looked up to. The strongest and fiercest. The greatest Alpha in the Northern subregion. Now he looked so frail and weak and seeing him this way broke my heart. Rage and confusion boiled in me.
