Kim froze, then looked over her shoulder at Taylor. They stared at each other, eyes wide. Immediately, Taylor closed the gap between them, his hand held out. She grasped it and turned them invisible. Finally—I’m getting the hang of using this damn power at the drop of a hat, instead of forgetting I’ve got it. Her heart pounded as Taylor moved in front of her and led them towards the still-open door, wondering what the hell they were going to find out there. What—or who—was making that racket?
