No, really. What the heck was going on?
I was at an absolute standstill within myself. Not only was I painfully aware of an alien presence within me. But knowing there was an invader, and knowing exactly where they were, also put me in a position of examining my own internal space in a way I hadn't ever imagined.
It felt like there was a sort of room somewhere on the inside. Like a pocket within myself, which might have technically been mine, but I felt that really it was the domain of my wolf.
Did all shifters have a wolf domain like this? And, if they did, were they more aware of it than I was? Or was AJ the only one who saw that internal, spiritual place for what it truly was?
