I don’t think I had ever used the word “loathing” in a sentence before, but that was the word that came to mind when I was trying to decipher the vibes these two were putting off. Disappointment, sure—a very adult position as they both knew me as a pretty decent kid from a really good family; severe disapproval, if they assumed I was part of the robbery, of course; some degree of disgust, even, if they believed I had turned my back on my upbringing and shamed my family, fair enough.
