Chapter Eleven Time to Move On Art Jackson enjoyed a very successful experience while in service to the nation. However, now he needed to decide whether to remain in the military or move on. He very much enjoyed the brotherhood of military life, and the excitement associated with the missions; however, he’d received a letter from his uncle Milton “Milt” inviting him to come to Alaska and work in his commercial fishing business. Art’s father’s older brother, Milt was born in 1926, then went on to serve in Alaska during WWII. After the war, he moved to Alaska, fell in love with Esther Ivanoff, started fishing, and never left.
