The words echoed in my head long after he walked away.
“You’ll always be a nobody to me.”
I stood there, alone at the edge of the forest, the scent of blood and ash hanging thick in the air. The ground beneath me was littered with the broken bodies of the enemy, but somehow, it was my spirit that felt shattered.
“ Wow! He indirectly called me a nobody. He is such a loser.” I said in a mocking tune..
I stood for a while and gave credit to my efforts.
After everything.
After Mireya. After the defense. After I’d helped him prepare for this attack and saved lives, even saved his precious territory, he still saw me as nothing.
I am now convinced he is definitely ungrateful.
