Karren’s POV
I was in the middle of my chambers, on the sofa like someone wasting his life… I tried not to drink again..
Suddenly my door creaked open. Ryker stepped in without knocking.
His steps were urgent.
“What is it?” I asked, already pushing the map I held aside.
“A servant came running. Said Selena’s back.”
I stood instantly, the words echoing in my mind like a bell struck hard.
She's really back.
My pulse kicked up, breath catching in my throat. I used my smell and finally perceived her.
Before I knew it, I’d shifted into my wolf.
The run through the hallways was a blur. Guards stepped aside, startled. They opened the doors in a rush of movement. I didn’t stop until I reached the wing where her scent curled faint and warm in the air.
It was her chambers.
