I didn’t realize what time I woke up, only that the sky above me was still a deep, starless blue and the observatory was silent.
Karren hadn’t moved.
My head was still resting against his shoulder, his arm curled protectively around me.
His body was warm and grounding. I was glad we weren't fighting. I didn't feel anything pulling me apart at the seams. But I was scared. What if this was just one of his mentally unstable periods?
